If You Have Nothing Nice To Say To Someone, Don’t Say Anything At All

In the last few weeks, I have been getting rude, snide, obscene, and cruel comments directed toward my blogs I write. I am doing my best to give out positivity to people all around the world, I am doing my best to encourage people to be happy in their lives, to think and feel optimistic and among so many things. I do not appreciate all that whaling and penalizing me for NOT being “The Perfect Writer” or the “Perfect Responder” Every time. I do read each and everyone’s comments and when I get to reply to them I will. People need to start looking in the mirror and analyze ones blog before penalizing and criticizing other peoples blogs. I like sharing my stories, my opinions and the way I see things in life and what I see in the society today. I have seen it all out there. I am a very social person and whenever an event comes, I go to it and I see different personalities all the time.

I don’t find it fair at all to have to open up my e-mail everyday to find people commenting on my blog on how poorly it is written, when it is not because I know a lot of people and people I don’t even know who darn well think it is wonderful and written from the heart. Nobody is perfect in this world, nobody. I don’t appreciate those who think they are all that and who think they are so perfect in everything and those who think they can run their mouth with terrible remarks all the time. I am sure not perfect, and I make mistakes, and I admit on doing them. It takes a lot to admit mistakes, but some people don’t have the guts to admit that obviously. If people do not have anything nice to say to others, people shouldn’t say anything at all. Yes sometimes rude and cruel comments are needed to have someone improve on their writings and stuff, but there is a way to write to someone, there is always a respectful and good manner to write to someone with.

I know a lot of people have written respectfully toward me, and I appreciate that and I have read and acknowledged them, but there are those who are the total opposite and go all haywire on me and write things I find not to be fair at all. I am tired of people running their mouths like they are so high and mighty in front of their computer or laptop screens. I love to write everyday because it is something I am passionate about and what I am committed to. I have a lot of things in my life and I want to share them with everyone, but not everything I will share though. Only things that matter to me. You know how many blogs I have written about positivity, optimism, being happy, and having self-confidence? I don’t ever want to hurt anybody, and I don’t like to yell at people and keep telling people what to do, but people need to read my blogs because it serves a purpose and that purpose is something that I want to do to better this world, and to give people that encouragement, hope, and good feelings about life and I want people to be more happy. You all are special in my eyes and each one of you have many talents and everything. Each one of us have something good to offer in this world.

I just want the best for everyone, and I want to make that difference in the world. I am sorry I haven’t replied back, and you guys are right about that, but I don’t need to hear it all the time, I do realize it and I will improve on that, I will. I need to have a lot of time to do it and when I do, I will. I do not need to be reminded everyday. Thank you and all the best to everyone. I love you all, and I appreciate you all.

  1. I’m sorry you’ve had some negative views on your blog. Blogging in a personal thing and it takes a lot of heart to take time to blog and share it with the world. I follow your blog and love it and am so glad you are still moving forward. I wish you nothing but the best going forward!

  2. Congratulations to you for having the strength to put the haters in their place! Keep writing this is, as you so elequently said a week ago, YOUR blog. They’re just jealous that they don’t have your passion.

  3. This is YOUR space to write..therefor you are entitled to write HOWEVER you choose!! Proper or not!! Write what works for you and the rude people don’t need to read if it bothers them!

  4. it’s really sad that people have nothing better to do than rag on your writing. i’m sorry for this. you may have to impliment moderation procedures to filter out the jerks.
my thoughts are that writing is the perfect school for learning to write or growing as a writer. don’t stop because some may not be absle to appreciate what or how you say what you want to say. use it as fuel to encourage you forward. try not to let them know they are affecting you with the negative talk. it only gives the what they want.

  5. i don’t know why people get on you with bad comments …. well ignore them and continue writing we r with you…!!

  6. I know you mean well and you write about positivity, some remarks could be a little harsh, learn from it if they mean well if not just ignore and continue to do your best and improve. Don’t get discouraged or get hurt carry on. LU

  7. haters can hate, but they’re just jealous about all of your accomplishments. Don’t worry about it. Keep writing about the positive & the haters will know where the door is. 🙂

  8. Well done Talin, don’t you let those haters bring you down. Moderating your comments will cut them off for good. Carry on doing what you love, because there are more than enough people out here supporting you.

  9. Talin, all I could think of when I began reading this post was “HOW”? How can people be writing in to you with hateful comments? Why would anyone be spewing hateful things at you? I just don’t see how this could be, but then again, I’m one of those weird people who assumes that if you’re not saying anything bad yourself, no one should be attacking you. Crazy huh?

  10. You’re writing from the heart; that’s all you can do, so just keep writing…..Jan Phillips says, “human beings, for the most part, are afraid to share what is deepest and most sacred in their lives” – and you have gone beyond that. Caroline

  11. Cheer up! There is nothing wrong with the way you write. It is true that you cannot please everybody though in fact you are not even trying to please them. Your style is just right. You are teaching without preaching. Keep it up. Just accept the truth that some people were born just to be trolls.

  12. Dear Talin

You are quite brave posting your thoughts online. Learning how to take feedback is a quality I believe many writers have to learn with the trade. I’ve observed professional journalists having a hard time dealing with negative feedback at major newspaper sites, it goes with the job, and anything put out there in the written word.

Try not to take what they say seriously. This is easier said than done, but it’s a quality that is begging you to learn, so you can continue to do what you love; that is to write and share your thoughts.

You mention attending church. There is a verse where Jesus tells us to put a lamp in the center of a dark room for all to see, rather than hiding it.

The comments and hurt you feel regarding them are darkness. Keep looking to the light, no matter how challenging it is. Right now, you are looking into the abyss and it is looking back at and consuming you.

Remember the light (from what I’ve read so far of your writing): Niagara Falls, 401, Montreal, bloggers/blogging, recipes, thoughts, etc… the things that make you happy. Kk?

    Kal

  13. Your title shows us a good truth…indeed! I look back to myself and remember, I sometimes force myself to say or write something, though I have yet only poor ideas, and do it wrong. Thanks for your wisdom!

  14. Good on you for having the courage to finally do something positive. However, please, please take on board the positive constructive advice you have gotten. People just want the best for you too when they go out of their way to offer advice on how to make your blog successful.

  15. i cant believe how negative some people can be. there have been times when ive clicked on a blog and they layout has hurt my eyes, is too busy or i dont have time to read a long post but id never slate them for it. everyone has there own style and if we were all the same it would be really boring! ignore them x

  16. I for one love your post… ignore the haters, that is what I do 🙂 n love the lovers 🙂
keep doing what you doing cause you are making a difference in someones life, even though you may not know it… 🙂

  17. You cant please everyone, I love your blog and the people that talk crap shouldn’t be on your page if they don’t like what they read, its as simple as that!! Keep up the good work and forget all people that have nothing good to say 🙂

  18. I thought your name was “Talin”, not “Perfect”…….smile!! If some criticism is constructive and true, take it and anything else……chuck it. You are doing what you do with a good heart and good intent so just keep doing it and ignore the naysayers/haters. My Grand Aunt used to say of such persons, “Wear them like a loose garment” so that’s my advice to you.. Keep you head up and blog on!!!!

  19. People are basically becoming angry because of your continued habit of ignoring them.

Yes, some of us have said things to you in anger – myself included – but mostly we have been patient with you and attempted to offer the constructive criticism that you have asked for. However, when you recieve the advice that you ask for you proclaim us all to be bullies, or jealous of you – neither of those things are true.

You have some published writers who follow you. Don’t ignore them, because they are full of wise words.

  20. I call it constructive criticism when someone shows us our weaknesses to correct them in a gracious and caring way not in offensive or arrogant tone. The other day a blogger told me to correct a typos and I felt on nine cloud for he doing that for he wanted my writing to be perfect . I welcome criticism provided they’re made politely for sometimes harsh words can ba as harmful as a blow. you have many fans here and that shows you’re doing a great job so keep up =) I become one of them today 🙂

  21. Wow! I can’t believe the audacity of some people who think they are the best judge of how others express themselves through writing. For everyone who likes to rag on people by negatively criticizing thier blogs just goes to show the low level of esteem they have imparted on themselves. How pathetic, self-righteous and vain! 😦

Sorry you had to experience such a thing. I encourage you to keep expressing yourself though your writing–no matter what it’s about. If it’s important to you, if it encourages you, if only just one person is encouraged by your writing, then you’ve accomplished something good. Don’t listen to all the negativity. Better yet, turn it around by taking it in stride and using it to become a better writer for yourself! 🙂

  22. They criticize because they lack the courage or freedom of self expression you possess. Gandi had a dream of a liberated india and he spoke publicly about it, wrote about it, and promoted his beliefs until the British army attacked his people. In an ultimate act of peaceful defiance, Gandhi drew salt from the water of the Indian Ocean, symbolizing his country’s economic freedom. They criticized Gandhi because his powerful self expression scared them. Your powerful expression scares them, so they criticize you. But do not fear. Most cowards lack the courage of their convictions. Eventhe trained soldiers from the British army eventually shouldered their rifles when they realized their violence could not stop gandhi. I guarantee you the majority of your criticizers are not trained soldiers. Nor are they brave. They hide behind a screen angrily punching a key pad in hopes someone will hear their cries of frustration and anguish. Write on, dear one. Fear not. They have no power over you.
