Appreciating Someone When They Are Alive

With all these people dying that have happened so far this year in 2016 and other years is terrible and heartbreaking to lose a loved one in our families, friends, co-workers and others, however it seems to me that after someone dies, some people tend to appreciate them more, they become more popular, that person who has died starts trending even more than they were alive and they become more important than they were when they were present in this world. I guess some people do not know how to appreciate a person until they pass away. People need to show the same love, appreciation and importance to someone when they are alive. That is what counts.

After someone dies, don’t say, I wish I had spent more time with this person, I wish I had done things differently and be there for the person and give them more attention, love them and appreciate them more. Do it when the person is alive and can see and feel how important that person is to you. Not just talk about it, but to act on it. Actions speak louder than words. Care about a person when they are alive, not when they pass away.

As we have heard on the news, in our social media news feeds, news sites about Natalie Cole, Rene Angelil, Lemmy, Alan Rickman, David Bowie and others who have passed away, I keep seeing all their names trending even more, a lot more people begin to talk about a person more, their memory and everything. It matters, but it doesn’t matter in other ways because the person is no longer with us. Yes a legacy lives on and we will remember people, but the most important thing is to spread that energy to these people when they are alive.

Life is too short, be kind to each other, care, love, support, appreciate and be there for each other as much as you can. don’t have these feelings after a person dies and cannot feel it and see it. They can only see it from up in heaven when they look down to you on earth.

The Family Matters TV Show – Nostalgia Hits Again

As you may or may not know, Family Matters was an American Sitcom show which began in September 1989 to May 1997 on ABC. After the show moved to CBS from September 1997 to July 1998 when they went off the air. The Family matters Family is known as the Winslow Family. A family of Middle-class African American’s living in Chicago Illinois. After some time had gone in the first season, the show introduced the funny and nerdy neighbor (Steve Urkel – Played by Jaleel White). Urkel, then was made the highlight of the show and became the main character.

The show ran on 9 successful seasons. It’s popularity grew so much. Family Matters was created by William Bickley, and Michael Warren. It was developed by Robert L. Boyett and Thomas L. Miller. They completed 215 episodes.

The theme composer of the beginning was Jesse Frederick, Bennett Salvay and Scott Roeme and the opening theme was “As Days Go By”

The Family Matters cast was Reginald VelJohnson, Jo Marie Payton, Rosetta LeNoire, Darius McCrary, Kellie Shanygne Williams, Jaimee Foxworth, Joseph & Julius Wright, Telma Hopkins, Bryton McClure, Jaleel White, Shawn Harrison, Michelle Thomas, Orlando Brown, and Judyann Elder.

Their Screen name actors and actresses are, Carl Otis Winslow, Harriette Baines- Winslow, Edward “Eddie” Winslow, Laura Lee Winslow, Judith “Judy” Winslow, Estelle “Mother” Winslow, Richard “Richie” Crawford, Rachel Baines- Crawford, Steven “Steve” Urkel Stefan Urquelle Myrtle Urkel, Waldo Geraldo Faldo, Myra Monkhouse, and Jerry Jamal “3J” Jameson.

Steve Urkel says his funny lines such as “Did I do that?” begins laughing and snorting at the same time. His infatuation and love for Laura Winslow was what was so great and awesome. Steve Urkel always caused trouble. lol. It was quite funny and some of it was serious too.

You might be watching The Young and The Restless and the one who plays Devon Hamilton was little Richie on the show and his name is Bryton McClure.

It was a great quality show. Nostalgia hit me again and I remember when I was in Chicago, I was passing through a place that was exactly shown on the beginning opening theme of the show. I felt like I was in the opening credits at that moment. I will forever cherish and love this show. I also did re-enact the theme to that as well. This show really touched base on reality, on family, the struggles and as well as a comedic touch to it all. They touched base on serious matters and addressed it in a tasteful manner. Very well done.

I guess, some of us if not all of us who were growing up in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s we all were glued to television before the internet was the internet.

You do not find shows like this these days that is for certain. Unfortunately, hope I am mistaken, but I don’t think and feel that we will ever see quality and family-oriented shows such as this in modern day television.

The Importance of Water – Our Natural Resource

Water is so important in our lives and vital part of it, and where water is scarce, some people in the world do not have clean drinking water, who do not have access to showers on a daily basis, in other places water is limited and come from wells, and replenished by trucks.

When I was in California when we were driving through Visalia, Tulare, Bakersfield, Fresno, on Highway 99 and inland of California plus other places, I saw big signs saying “No, Water, No Jobs”, and the crops, vegetables, trees, grass, fruits that are shipped across North America are crying for water and are crying for rain. I can see how dry the land is, grass and some trees have turned blonde/yellow and desperately need rain to liven up the soil and crops. By the time the produce makes it to us, the flavour and freshness changes a lot. There is a lot of farm land in California and passed by hundreds and thousands probably.

We are very lucky to have our water resources, where other places are in desperate need. In areas of California they are so strict about watering lawns, taking long showers, continuously keeping the water on while washing dishes, washing cars, and driveways. I heard they authorities are fining people if caught. I have always heard the severity and the shortage in California, but actually witnessing it in person is absolutely terrible.

Keep showers short, turn off the water when brushing your teeth, Do not keep the water running in the sink when using the washroom (people do that and I have seen it in public restrooms), and do not use it to water your lawn much. If you know it rains in your areas, Let mother nature take its course.  Inform your family and friends and always remind them to use water wisely.

Use water responsibly and do not waste it. It is a very precious resource of our world. Water is life.

Talin’s Red Kidney Bean Dip Recipe

Hello everyone, I haven’t written a recipe in a while, so I decided today I write about my Red Kidney Bean dip. It is how you make humus, but there are some things that are different into it. Here goes:

Ingredients/Quantity needed:

One or 2 large cans of 540 ml of Dark Red Kidney Beans. (washed thoroughly after opening)

4 tablespoons of tahini

1 to 2 teaspoons of sea salt (regular iodized salt is not good to use)

2-3 cloves of Garlic

2-3 tablespoons of Lemon Juice Squeeze

1 teaspoon of Ground Cumin

1/2 teaspoon of Sweet Paprika

2 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

half-one cup of water….. or as desired texture, but for dip, it shouldn’t be too tender.

How to prepare:

Get a food processor, and first add in the tahini, Olive Oil, water, lemon and garlic. Process it very well until garlic is well pureed

then you put the ground cumin, sweet paprika, salt into the mix….. beat that very well.

then add the dark red kidney beans —– check to see for tenderness, and the dip should be in between dense/tender… not too much as long as its dip-able.

Makes a good snack, makes a good dish for parties and everything.

Bon apetit!

Have a great one!

If You Have Nothing Nice To Say To Someone, Don’t Say Anything At All

In the last few weeks, I have been getting rude, snide, obscene, and cruel comments directed toward my blogs I write. I am doing my best to give out positivity to people all around the world, I am doing my best to encourage people to be happy in their lives, to think and feel optimistic and among so many things. I do not appreciate all that whaling and penalizing me for NOT being “The Perfect Writer” or the “Perfect Responder” Every time. I do read each and everyone’s comments and when I get to reply to them I will. People need to start looking in the mirror and analyze ones blog before penalizing and criticizing other peoples blogs. I like sharing my stories, my opinions and the way I see things in life and what I see in the society today. I have seen it all out there. I am a very social person and whenever an event comes, I go to it and I see different personalities all the time.

I don’t find it fair at all to have to open up my e-mail everyday to find people commenting on my blog on how poorly it is written, when it is not because I know a lot of people and people I don’t even know who darn well think it is wonderful and written from the heart. Nobody is perfect in this world, nobody. I don’t appreciate those who think they are all that and who think they are so perfect in everything and those who think they can run their mouth with terrible remarks all the time. I am sure not perfect, and I make mistakes, and I admit on doing them. It takes a lot to admit mistakes, but some people don’t have the guts to admit that obviously. If people do not have anything nice to say to others, people shouldn’t say anything at all. Yes sometimes rude and cruel comments are needed to have someone improve on their writings and stuff, but there is a way to write to someone, there is always a respectful and good manner to write to someone with.

I know a lot of people have written respectfully toward me, and I appreciate that and I have read and acknowledged them, but there are those who are the total opposite and go all haywire on me and write things I find not to be fair at all. I am tired of people running their mouths like they are so high and mighty in front of their computer or laptop screens. I love to write everyday because it is something I am passionate about and what I am committed to. I have a lot of things in my life and I want to share them with everyone, but not everything I will share though. Only things that matter to me. You know how many blogs I have written about positivity, optimism, being happy, and having self-confidence? I don’t ever want to hurt anybody, and I don’t like to yell at people and keep telling people what to do, but people need to read my blogs because it serves a purpose and that purpose is something that I want to do to better this world, and to give people that encouragement, hope, and good feelings about life and I want people to be more happy. You all are special in my eyes and each one of you have many talents and everything. Each one of us have something good to offer in this world.

I just want the best for everyone, and I want to make that difference in the world. I am sorry I haven’t replied back, and you guys are right about that, but I don’t need to hear it all the time, I do realize it and I will improve on that, I will. I need to have a lot of time to do it and when I do, I will. I do not need to be reminded everyday. Thank you and all the best to everyone. I love you all, and I appreciate you all.
