The Walk of Newbury St – Boston’s Beauty

For the past year and a half or so, I fell in love with a beautiful city of which has become part of my life and the beautiful people there and In May, 2014 I took the opportunity to visit my happy place Boston, Massachusetts. It was my second time visiting and I just loved every single second being there, taking it all in and catching the glimpse of Downtown Boston as much as I could. It was an incredible feeling walking on Newbury St, Seeing Boylston, and I had this emotional yet Strong feeling when I saw the finish line of the Boston Marathon. I became stronger like Boston Strong when I saw that up close and personal.

I also was able to go on a Charles River Boat Cruise, and seeing the skyline of Boston was ever so beautiful, and it was a very emotional thing for me to see, seeing the big Citgo sign from the river knowing that it’s the Fenway Park home of the Red Sox, Seeing Harvard, Boston University, MIT, and all those places where I would see in movies, as well as always hearing about them on TV, The news and more. It is wicked awesome to see it up close and personal. Traveling and seeing places are a great feeling, and I had one of the best experiences.

I had the chance to go on the Bunker Hill Bridge, seeing the TD Garden where The Boston Bruins and Celtics play. Also seeing Bobby Orr’s Statue in front of TD Garden was incredible. I could not believe my eyes when I saw all that. I always saw Boston Downtown in Movies, Television and in Magazines, but when I was there physically and seeing it with my own two eyes, It was something that I will never ever forget. I hope to visit Boston again soon for my 3rd time. If you are going to visit Boston, Planning your voyage there, and stuck on what to do, where to go, and see, please contact me and I will be more than happy to assist you.

Avoid Flying on United Airlines

Avoid United Airlines and Star Alliance at all times if You can.

On August 22nd, 2013, I was at Toronto’s Pearson Airport YYZ, and I was ever so excited to board my plane to head to Boston where I had a layover in Newark, New Jersey first. I had arrived at the airport about 3 hours before, and I had seen that the Gate for my flight had not been announced yet until about an hour and a half before, so I went to my gate F89, and then I got hungry so I got myself a bagel with jam which is the safest thing to eat at the airport, so as I came back and ate my mini breakfast, I saw that my flight was on time 10:59am which I said ok thank goodness. As I took a bite and turned my head away from the UNITED FLIGHT Screen, I take a look and now my flight is at 11:20am. I said ok, no big deal 20 minutes is not all that bad, then I had a conversation with one of the other people who are boarding my plane and killed time that way.

I look again and it said its delayed again until 11:50am. At this time I got so angry, my patience ran thin and marched right to the United Counter and I said I hope you know I am not going to make my flight in Newark, New Jersey to go to Boston which was supposed to board at 2pm, the attendant didn’t give a hoot what happens to me the way her expression was, so then I was yelling at them and fought with them, I said you better get me to Boston today, I said I do not care how you do it, but I demand to get on a plane. After fighting with them for almost 20 minutes they got me on a 4pm flight from New Jersey to Boston. I said to them I have a reunion with my beautiful ladies in Boston and I am the last one to get there, I said I better get there before it gets dark. So in New Jersey, I only waited an hour, but that hour felt like 8 hours to me. I just want to get there and be in the arms of my sisters. I am never connecting flights again and I am never flying with united again. They are so unprofessional, its not even funny, the flight attendants don’t even smile, they don’t even care and are rude to the passengers. If it wasn’t for us passengers and people booking flights, these airlines would not be in business, so they better take good care of us. I do not know how United Airlines and Star Alliance are still in Business. for the life of me. Passengers shouldn’t have to fight, and they shouldn’t demand to be taken care of to where passengers are going. So after I fought with them, they protected my airfare. I told them that I was going to write about united airlines and the poor service I received.

In the end I am happy I got to Boston and I got there safe which is the most important thing and I am not complaining about that and I know the scenario could have been worse, but the principal and the point to the matter is that, they should handle things in a more professional way and give passengers more options of a safe and quick way to get to peoples destinations and be humble, patient and understanding. That was my last time with the airline. They need to get pointers from Air Transat, Westjet, Jetblue, Delta, Sunwing, Emirates. Thats all I know.

Oh yes and I forgot to add that they had to shut off the whole plane and restart it again due to a faulty wire for the air conditioning which repaired itself. THATS COMFORTING. So another 15 minutes was gone… I was so angry.  They can delay and cancel flights all they want, but when you are late for your flight or when you just make it in time, they make such a big deal, but if its their fault, they do not care. Craziness. If you want to travel on a hassle free airline, contact me. I have been on many many different airlines.

Preserving North American Historic Architecture and It’s Landmarks

In recent news, I heard about a few landmarks in Toronto Canada will be shut down like Casa Loma because of Money, and that is a great course of concern for me. This is a big problem and it needs to be addressed. In North America, it seems to me that whenever a landmark gets old, or buildings get old with Historic Architecture, and when buildings get outdated, they automatically think its okay to demolish it or shut it down and build modern looking buildings that destroy a historic building and a site which was once a vital part of history. It is not right to tamper with historical monuments and buildings because when we look back in history books and pictures, people will wonder what happened to those buildings? Historians and those who are becoming historians and studying archeology and other forms of history subjects, it is important to preserve our history and not rebuild something new.

In All of Europe and some middle eastern countries, they are doing their best to conserve, preserve and make sure that artifacts, buildings, museums and other important parts of a country’s history does not fade away and that is exactly what North America is doing. A Hockey Arena the Maple Leaf Gardens were converted to a grocery store and a department store, it is not a cool thing to do, I’d rather it be there as a museum of Hockey history, rather than it being destroyed and used for other things. A lot of people were not happy about that. What I am saying is that, when a piece of history gets destroyed, that is something that Is not good for the future of Canada or the United States of America. Preserving and making sure that these are well kept so that future generations can visit and learn about it through history books, and set up trips to go see these monuments, buildings and actually get a feel of history. I am not saying that each historical monument or building is shut down or destroyed, but I am talking about the ones that are. It is crucial and vital for our identity as North Americans, and that is a big piece of the puzzle. If we destroy history, then what will we teach to our future generations?

This really alarmed me and I felt the need to share it with you all. It is important to raise awareness to stop from these things happening. We all need to do our best to prevent history from fading away and preserve it as much as possible.

Airlines Shouldn’t Charge For Checked Baggage Unless It is Way OverWeight

There is something about the travel industry I do not like, and this is the big one. I do understand that when a checked baggage is overweight the airline must charge for it, but what I do not get is why people have to pay extra to check in a bag that is not overweight. For the life of me, I don’t know why they implemented that in the first place. People are of course going to check in a bag for a flight. Passengers are already paying enough for flights, this should be included without extra costs that passengers don’t need. Traveling alone costs money, everywhere you turn costs money and they nab you each time. I do not think it is fair for people to pay for something, that should of course be an obvious thing. Airlines makes a lot of money, but they should not charge for baggage. Especially United States travel. It is ridiculous to pay for something that is unnecessary. Airlines and airports need to scrap that. I know its making extra money to offer more services, to improve things, to pay the employees of the airline company but there are other ways to make money, but not to milk travelers from their pockets. This and being charged for food on a plane. So if people go hungry and thirsty on flights, they have no choice but to spend money again. People should be offered non-alcoholic drinks on board the aircraft and offered food complimentary from the airline. any flight your on for more than 2-3 hours. These are the two aspects of travel I do not like and they need to improve that. Greediness is not a good trait. Traveling should be fun and traveling means not having to worry about extra costs at the airport, paying for checked baggage. It shouldn’t be like that and It makes me upset about this. It could be 20 or 25 dollars for the baggage, but it doesn’t matter, that 20 or 25 dollars or more can be used for something else, it can be used for duty free gifts, it can be used for something important, but not for just a bag. This has been on my mind for a while now and this has got to be one of the most bizarre things ever. People then will only resort to carry on bags and what can you fill in a carry on bag? I mean we should be allowed to bring a little bit more with us and not having to pay for it. This is not fair to passengers who spend a lot of money on flights, vacations, trips.  Well, that is my two cents of the story. Who agrees with me?

Anyway, I had to get this off my chest today. It is pretty frustrating…. Thanks.

In Honour Of The September 11, 2001 Attacks 11 Years Ago – My Prayers & Thoughts

The morning of September 11, 2001, it was a sunny day and I woke up, getting ready for high school,  It was already the second week of school, and I had come downstairs to have my breakfast, and after finishing breakfast, I had made my way to school. After 1st period of class was over, I headed to my next class which was Geography. We had began class for about 15 minutes. Our teacher then left the class for some reason we didn’t know, and there she came with a trolly and a TV. I said Oh were going to watch a movie, and then all of a sudden, she turned on the TV and the same time the same scene was on so many channels, I said Oh this must be a new movie coming out, and our teacher is showing us the preview so we can go see it as a class one day, but little did I know that it was really happening and that The Twin Towers, World Trade Center, Pentagon in Washington DC was hit and so many people had died, and buildings were blown up. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. At that moment, I started to cry so much, and so did a few of my classmates too. We were in awe and shock. So, then afterwards, there was an announcement over the PA System saying that, school has been cancelled for the rest of the day, and will resume tomorrow due to the Terror attacks in the USA. After that I went to my locker, grabbed my things and left to go home, Where I couldn’t stop crying because of what had happened.

I still remember this day like it was yesterday. I had the eery feeling and it was horrible on my way home. I was so scared to ride the public transit home, thinking something will happen while I am on the bus and thankfully I got home safe and I was just glued to the TV All day long. I still remember this day from the time I woke up and until I went to bed which was impossibly difficult to do, since my mind was in the states. After I eventually fell asleep past 2am in the morning and had to wake up at 7 for the next day of school. So I went to school and this was the topic all day and there was an assembly in the gymnasium where the principal, vice principal and teachers gave us information. This is where all the safety precautions started and everyone went to their classes and went on from there. I couldn’t believe it, but when it really happened, I just blanked out.

I just want to say my heartfelt prayers and my thoughts are with all families, friends, and to all effected by this terrible ordeal the world had to face on September 11, 2001 who lost loved ones. 11 years ago today, you all are on my mind, heart, and soul. My condolences to all the deaths that happened, and innocent lives were taken away senselessly by attacks that should not have happened. Today, I will remember all and my prayers be with you all and never let 9/11/2001 be repeated again. God bless and keep people from harms way always. Love each other and I wish for world peace amongst each other.
