In this day in age, social media has been a huge part of today’s society where almost everyone in the world is engaged into it in some way, shape or form which is one of the reasons why Searching movie was created to cater to the reality of today.

The whole film is based on laptop and phone screens.

The Searching movie opens with a video/photo montage showing the life of a Korean-American family also known as the Kim’s, David Kim (John Cho), his wife Pam (Sara Sohn), and their young daughter Margot. Margot was excited and took up an interest in taking piano lessons from a young age. Pam was later unfortunately diagnosed with lymphoma. Pam went into remission, but then she unfortunately had a relapse which devastated the Kim family. David and Margot stood by her side and bedside until she passed away.

This movie is an eye-opener of what can happen if we are not careful with whom we associate with on social media. A father David Kim (John Cho) is worried sick about his 16 year old daughter Margot (Michelle La) who goes missing after telling her dad she is going to a study group, so he takes matters into his own hands to search for her and he will not stop. Her father knows she is always on her laptop to communicate, then he doesn’t hear from her and frantically searches her accounts and the plot thickens as he keeps digging.

In case you have not seen this film yet, I do not want to give away a lot about the plot and definitely do not want to spoil the ending. It is a must see film which will definitely be something to really think about. So to summarize my point, I spoke just a little bit about it, but you are in for a great film. It is 102 minutes long and each minute of it is incredibly awesome.

Social Media is such a powerful tool in our society. Searching movie is something that really is the definition of that and how careful we should be. This is a perfect film to see with family and especially young teenagers to 20’s also for everyone and those who are so engaged into technology, phones, apps and everything today. This film is a true definition of perfection and I enjoyed it thoroughly that I went to go see it a second time.

We need film like this to spread awareness on serious issues we face today, the pros and cons of interaction in the online world. It is one of the main ways now to communicate, transmit information instantly without waiting days and months like writing traditional hand-written letters to people where now with social media and the internet, we just send it out and in seconds it gets sent to other people and it can be seen right away. There are always pros and cons to everything and social media and technology consists of both.

It is important to recognize great film and content. This is the type of film we need to see and keep making.

I am a social media marketing specialist and this film is something so relative to me. Searching movie is something truly out of this world and I give it a two-thumbs up. Thank you to the great minds and talents of the creators of this film and to those who worked so hard day in and day out compiling everything.

It really isn’t easy writing, creating and directing. So much thought process, brain-storming, ideas and ways to give out a message is absolutely difficult. Wishing the directors, writers, film creators all the best in their future.

Social Media Entitlement

Social Media has great benefits to it, but it also carries a negative approach as well. Has social media gone out of context in terms of finding comfort in disrespecting others and ridiculing them?

It gives some people leverage to write terrible comments and status messages. Some people are too comfortable now, and I am sure that they wouldn’t say half the things they would write online to people in person. Some people find that hiding behind a screen is something that makes them feel at ease.

Cyberbullying is one of the worst things that someone can combat. what you say and do online has a big impact and you really do not know who is watching, reading and observing. You really do not know your audience. When someone is in a vulnerable position in real life, the people who are bullying the person has leverage to humiliate them on the internet for so many people to see.

Although social media is a great tool to keep in touch, to make new friends, to communicate and transmit information instantly, however it can also be dangerous too. You need to be very careful to make sure things aren’t used against you and what you post online stays here forever even if you delete it. There is always a way to retrieve deleted posts.

People have this mentality now that they feel entitled, that they can disrespect people, they can post what they want without consequences. Some people have by now, but majority of the people out there who do and post terrible things online get away with it. Especially hurting others with insulting and terrible comments.

If you have nothing nice to say to others, and if you do not have anything productive, inspiring, nice, kind and good things to produce online, then you should not be posting. What you do and say does affect others.

With this digital age now when everything is out in the open on the internet, and privacy is minimal, you have to be careful. You have no idea what people go through in their personal lives, you have no idea the path people are on, so its a good idea to stay away from disrespecting others, and ridiculing others, and actually try to help them.

Spread positivity in ones life, and always lift people up when they are down. There will always be those people who will never learn and who will always continue to be rude and mean to others and it is terrible. Hopefully someday they will wake up and realize that what they are doing is wrong.

Help others, be kind, and be nice because you never know what another person goes through.

Memorizing Phone Numbers of Yesterday VS Technology today.

Recently, I have made a realization that has been in my mind for a few days now. How we used to keep in touch with phones, technology of today VS. memorizing phone numbers from yesterday and the past.

In the 80’s and 90’s and before that in 1876 when Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, we had paper address books, and as well as a phone numbers list stuck on our fridge doors. Before cell phones, we had to memorize numbers, a huge directory book of phone numbers and contacts would appear in front of our doorstep to find people to call them.

You had to really memorize numbers or else, how else would you be able to contact somebody? Before, it wasn’t easy when people weren’t home and couldn’t contact them until they got home. So people would call a few times. When parties, functions, meetings and all that took place, it would be difficult to let people know they will be late. Calling them at home didn’t make the difference. Sometimes people wouldn’t show up and all night they worry about what happens.

People used to use corded phones to the wall, so they would be stuck in the room and playing with the cord while talking on the phone. I am sure in today’s world, there still are corded phones in the homes because if in case the electricity goes out, you have a backup and also your cell phone. Well until the battery runs out. So I sure hope you remember some phone numbers. It is important.

How did people go without all the technology to communicate? How about when there was no caller I.D? Nobody would know who is calling. I think Prank callers had a lot of fun back then using payphones to trick people and annoy them. How about when people used to carry a phone address book with them in their bags?

Nowadays, with smartphones and technology, there is no need to write numbers anymore.  People are so connected to their phones and now the art of calling people is slim to none and people are more involved in text messaging so that they can have time to organize their thoughts, instead of speaking directly to someone on the phone. It has become such a norm.

I am pretty sure there are still people in this world today who still recognizes and memorize phone numbers. It is important to have things on paper too, so as if one day your smartphone is on its last mission to serve you, at least you have backup.

Memorize phone numbers that you regularly text and call. Use and address book to put them in. You never know what happens to your phone. You can lose your contact list and then somehow get on a computer to send status messages on Facebook letting people know “I’ve lost all my contacts, please send me your phone numbers again”. I have see and heard about that so many times.

If it ever comes to a point where you need a phone number and cannot remember it on a rainy day, it will actually be really bad.

How many of you remember your friends numbers? Do you know your boyfriend, fiancé, or husbands, or girlfriend, wife,  cousins or even your parents numbers by heart? If you do not, then its time you do.

We cannot let technology and contact lists in our phones do all the work for us, that we don’t need to remember anything, its in our phones. Nobody should think that way. People really need to think about it. We need to upgrade our minds and educate it and learn the skill to memorize things.

So, I wouldn’t be so dependent on technology and go for the greater technology we were born with… Our brains. There is nothing that technology has that will even be a fraction or come close to than our brain in our bodies..

Tips For Social Media Writers and Bloggers

Here are some tips to keep in mind for Social Media, Writing and Bloggers:

– When writing articles, try not to post many per day as that can create an information and reading overload. Try to space out timing between posts with 1-2 posts per day, so as it gives your readers, subscribers and viewers space and time to read each post. Trust me. Too much is no good. If you have a Twitter account then it is ok. Post as many times as you wish, but with Blog posts, its important to limit yourself per day

– If you have many articles written, save them on your computer and then copy and paste the articles you have written about and post them automatically on your website. If you are in the social media hussle and bussle to stay on top and If you are someone writing about the latest news, trends and all that, then that is perfectly okay too.

– Social Media is a very huge market now. A lot of information gets transmitted per day in an instant. With So many hundreds of millions of people on social media outlets per day with updating statuses, posting photos, announcements and so much more, as a person is social media marketing and blogging, I am sure you wonder about if people will see your content. Yes. They definitely will.

[Everyone is always searching for something and eventually will stumble upon your website. People are always looking for something specific, people are in the hunt for information they want to obtain. Sometimes people find your site within minutes, sometimes it takes a couple of days, but don’t worry people are looking. Even people who lurk and read your content without responding to it and they just read and leave. There are people like that too.]

– Social Media is an interesting way to transmit information and now mostly are communicating that way to family, friends, and fans worldwide. People figure its the most easy and practical way these days to communicate. Times have certainly changed with technology, communication and the way we send out information.

– You must always give credit where credit is deserved. If you are stuck on a topic sometimes and get a writers block, You never copy and paste another person’s hard work and writing style and send it out as your own. That is plagiarism, and a copyright infringement and you can be held liable for that where legal action can take place, and where problems may arise. Always credit sources and where you researched information from. It is very important to include the person’s website, the person’s name and the best bet is to ask written permission from them. It will save trouble and hassle in the long run. Crediting others for their work is a very important thing.

Ridiculous Online Chain Letters – It Must Stop

For many years now since joining the online world, we receive e-mails, messages, inbox messages, wall posts, comments, text messages, newsletters and many more things that come to us. Now, there is something that is absolutely ridiculous that someone, some people with a whole lot of time on their hands decide to play a trick on people to create pointless and frightening chain letters. It is a hoax letter which puts us to the edge and some follow the trend.

There are several types of chain letters that say, If you do not forward this e-mail to 20 people you will have bad luck for 7 years, or if you do not send this e-mail or message to 40 people, there will be a death of a family member or friend. If you do not forward it, you will never find love, you will never have friends and all kinds of negative things that can alarm just about everyone. Of course, those who get tricked into it even more.

Sometimes we get these phony and bogus e-mails or messages to ask us to click on the link to open up the chain letter. It can contain spam, trojan viruses, malware, and spyware which compromises and puts you, and your computer at risk for online thieves which can steal personal information, files, photos, and can even look at what you are doing 24/7/365. They can also steal data, bandwidth, commit fraud and identity theft with your IP address and so much can happen.

If you have a reliable Anti-virus software which prevents you and protects you against these malicious forwards, then you are good to go, but again NEVER click on those e-mails and just delete it and empty your junk box. Also, it is a good idea to report these messages as phishing scam if you receive them. You must be so careful.

Chain letters can also be offensive and highly obscene. If your friends or family or anyone you know that sends you this stuff and gets tricked into these chain letters, simply send them a message saying that this is a fake message and ask them to delete and ignore it. That is the best thing you can do. Do not spend time on these unnecessary trends in social media and in your personal e-mail or private inbox messages. Most of the time these messages can appear in personal messages, but lately, it has been in the public eye. It makes people cringe.

So, the next time you get one, do not be creeped out by it, Just let it go. Before, when I started out on the internet back in the late 90’s, I was fooled into these chain letters toward the beginning of the millennium, and then I did extensive research on them and I have ignored and disregard those messages.

Have you been a victim of chain letters? These chain letter trends must stop.

I Absolutely Love Social Media – Brings People Close Together

At Almost 11 years that I have been on Facebook, I can honestly say that I have made some great friends through this social media outlet through groups, pages, mutual friends and more. Some, I have met in person for the first time in the last 6-7 years. It was a special moment and we have created some fabulous memories and hopefully we will reunite again soon, however, there are some of my dear Facebook friends, I still have yet to meet. Sometimes I ask myself this question if I am ever going to meet them too? God willing it will happen and to finally see someone face to face instead of looking at pictures and communicating through screens. I am so blessed on great people from all over the world that has a special place in my list, my heart, mind and soul. Thank you for making the world smaller, but hopefully, it will become smaller at the moment we meet physically. I want to make this happen.

Thank you to Social Media for uniting great people to communicate with. Without social media, never knew some people existed, never knew how lovely people can be. Of course being careful all the time. You just feel that gut instinct by the way; someone communicates with you, you feel it in their tone and everything when they write, what the person posts and everything. You automatically feel this closeness or this instant comfort when you being communicating and creating bonds with people. That personality of a person shines and you feel like you have known them for so many years.

It is always good to find people you can relate to, who you have stuff in common with and those who just understand you and so much more.

However, there will always be some people who are not what they say they are and of course; you have to exercise caution at the same time, but you will know. You can sense it. Technology is great at bringing the world of people together but never forget who is near you, beside you and those who are physically with you as well and those who you share your life with. They say that the more further you are, the more sweeter you become, but don’t forget your friends and loved ones who are right there with you. That is super important to remember.

Chores are Development of Responsibility & Life Skills

As we are born and become children, majority of our parents/grandparents/guardians have taught us about responsibility, doing chores around the house and to gain experience and knowledge on to keep clean, tidy, and organized. Also teaches kids to obey, and prioritize life to do what is important first, and then make time for fun and play after.

When children wake up in the morning, they teach them on the importance of getting up to make the bed, brush the teeth, groom themselves, wash up and shower for good hygiene, and then they teach them how to eat, and then venture off to school with the grandparents/parents/guardian or with a school bus.

During school, the teachers and other staff of the school teach kids on importance of learning about the world, how to read, write, to learn about many subjects such as sciences, music, gym, dance, language classes, mathematics, chemistry, and the most important thing to teach children to be kind to other classmates, develop group skills during group work, also leadership.

When school is over and the children are on their way home, that skill to teach them about sharing, kindness, respecting others should also be implemented at home, so as they can continue that outside of school. The children come home, and the importance to wash hands, and change out of their clothes, and to start homework if they have homework that day and teach them to do homework first before they play with toys, tablets, colour and all that.

When it is time to make dinner and set the table, it is always a good idea to get your child involved in cooking, helping set the table with plates, cutlery, and then children should start to develop skills on washing dishes, and after dinner to help clean the table with a cloth, taking the dishes to the sink, and make the parents/guardian/grandparents life easier and for the children to help them out. This also teaches them for the future when they have greater responsibility when they get older.

Nowadays, it is so difficult to teach children these life skills because of the screens, video gaming consoles and technology that has taken over. Nowadays children always want to feel that sense of entitlement to do whatever they want, whenever they want without having to listen to their parents/guardians/grandparents. They feel the need to always want to be on their screens and not develop skills that will benefit them in the future. some Kids these days are immune to technology and less hands on skills, not having manners, not respecting and being kind to others, talking back to adults and also rude gestures and mannerisms. Some children are so spoiled and tend to have an answer for everything. We should never allow it for it to get that far.

Children see everything, they are observant, they listen to everything that goes on in the house. start them early, influence them in such a way where it becomes easier to ask them to do chores. Tell them to do things in such a way where they won’t feel threatened. Give them conditions that if they do not help clean, or do simple things like washing hands or whatever, tell them that they will not have a birthday party, tell them that they will not be allowed TV Time or play time if they do not eat, or listen to do things around the house. Also, nowadays children do not have an idea of responsibility and helping out family. They need to learn that.

Nowadays, children are untouchable, and if heaven forbid, you really yell at them and give them discipline, they will use it against you and they may involve teachers and other authorities. These days, showing children how to do chores, and get them off of their bums to help around the house, and develop these important skills is a chore and a very difficult task in itself. These screens, smartphones and devices are like a magnet to them.

As adults teach their children that it is bedtime, that means washing up again, brushing teeth, undoing the bed, getting clothes and everything ready for the next school day or whatever else, making their lunches, and everything.

Then the days that children are at home, it is important to teach them how to vacuum, wipe and mop the floors, dust the furniture, clean doorknobs, clean the kitchen counters and the table, take out the garbage, help wash the car and everything. Of course it is important to give them time to play, and do fun stuff as well. I am not saying that they should always be doing chores and everything, but they need to learn balance, time management and everything. There is a limit and time for it all.

It is the time now, and to be strict with children. strict in such a way that will not intimidate them, but to put them on track. Set rules, guidelines, time limits to screen time, and monitor what they look at and supervise them to make sure they are making good decisions while on the computer and so much more. That is the important thing.

When you see they are trying and everything and doing great work at school, and at home, give them gifts, or surprise them to a movie, take them out to an amusement park, take them to play in the park, when they obey and do good, give them an allowance of whatever amount you wish, teach them the value of a dollar when they do get allowances and teach them about spending accordingly.

One day when I have children of my own, all these things will be taught to them and I will not allow them to do whatever they want all the time. Not going to happen. they need to be taught lessons of life and develop skills.

If you have children and/or take care of them such as being a guardian, babysitter, or grandparents. What skills and what things do you teach them?

Social Media Spam & Fake Accounts Beware

In the last few years, as technology of communication across the world has become a lot easier with transmitting information instantly across the world with just a single submit, post, or publish button. The world has come a long way with all that and it is incredibly amazing where technology has taken us. Some for the good, and some for the bad. The bad part about social media, e-mails and accounts are spam and fake ones.

I am sure some of us or if not all of us have encountered people saying “If you follow me, you can get instant thousands of followers back”, and then you see these accounts with fake usernames with so many numbers and a name with it like “Joy34342432456” or profile’s with suspicious fake photos, and then they try to add you as a friend, but you don’t even know them. After they send you e-mails saying “Hey, I saw your profile, you look great, and I want to get to know you and some sort of stuff” I am just getting so tired of all these bot’s and fake accounts that are circulating the internet.

I think the most important priority for these social media website creators, and those who work for these social media companies especially the IT, Security and safety teams, should really begin to clean out fake profiles. I know it is easier said than done and sometimes these fake profiles, hackers and everything made it so complicated to tell, but I can tell right away if it is a fake account.

So many things to look at when dealing with a spammer and fake account holder. here is my list:

– They only have 1 photo of themselves or they don’t have a profile photo and they put a picture of a unicorn or something. That becomes suspicious

– When they do not post anything on their profile pages.

– When you hashtag *#* or write about a certain thing on Twitter, an automatic bot will detect people’s status messages and retweet, like and follow you.

– They spam people to look at adult content videos

– They tag you in potential virus content that will mess up the security of your computer that will steal your passwords, and personal information.

– When they say, follow me and you get thousands of followers

– when there are e-mails that are like this “3535serger345gvdrgererwaefqw@swewed34325435fsfsada.com”

and so much more.

You must be so careful on what you add, who you add on your social media accounts.

I am going to begin to set up a petition online for these social media, and e-mail companies to really start cracking down on fake accounts, bots, and spammers to delete, remove and clean up the internet. Instead of focusing on new layouts, exciting new features and updates on these social media outlets, They should really be focusing on and managing security and safety of all the other users, by making it a little harder in the beginning when signing up for an account to ask several questions, to “I’m Not a Robot” or some sort of captcha, number to type down before creating a site, and go through extra steps to ensure safety and security of us all.

We should also be helping out these social media outlets. If you do see something that is not right or if you feel that you are being followed by robots or whatever, tell your social media outlet, report it, send an e-mail or whatever the case maybe, and they will investigate it and deal with it. There are millions and millions of accounts on these social media outlets and Facebook has over 1 billion people worldwide using it, so it can be quite difficult to combat all these accounts, so we as account holders should help them out and report these fake people or IF we can even call them that to them. It is so important.

Do not be discouraged of joining the social media world, just because of these things that are happening. Social Media outlets are awesome and it can be a fun, enjoyable and great place to keep in touch with loved ones, share photos, status messages and everything. I am not deterring anybody from this age in technology, I am just merely suggesting and advising people to really be so careful on who you add, and everything. If you do feel that it is suspicious, please report the account and delete and block it.

Have you been a victim of social media spam? What have you encountered?

Best wishes always, and remember to make wise decisions when Spammers and Bots come to you. best thing to do is to ignore, delete, report and then block. The social media outlet will see that it happened, as everything is on file at their end. Just be safe and enjoy social media.

Book Smarts Vs. Street Smarts

Intelligence Vs. Education
Logic and common sense

I’d rather have street smarts, intelligence, logic and common sense. Yes, people go to school to get educated, get all these fancy degrees and all that, gain knowledge about mathematics, science, biology, English, and other subjects, people have this perception that if they do not earn high marks in school that they are not smart or anything, and then lose all the confidence in the world to try to prove a point. To me, those numbers mean nothing. Every person has their own ways of learning and at their own pace. Each person is great at something. What I look for in an individual is that they have intelligence, the know-how, common sense and logic in reality. Those are the most important things in life. Not a number. being book smart doesn’t determine if you are street smart. That must come within yourself and of course from the teachings of your past teachers, teachers assistants, family and friends.

I am not saying that book smart people don’t have the intelligence and common sense, and all that. That is not my intention to say that at all.

I went to grade school, high school and college, and my biggest strength was English class, social studies, civics, writing and reading. I did bring high marks and excelled in that above the 90’s. Other subjects did not seem to get me motivated to learn it.

A lot of people knew I had it in me to write and there were a few teachers I had that said, “Talin, you will go places in your life with your writing, creative writing”. She also stated “Talin, I know in my heart that you will make a difference in this world, do not worry about others who have bullied you emotionally and mentally”. Do what you love doing and do not worry about trying to prove a point with bringing high marks”.

Now, look where it is has got me. I have almost 2, 500,000 followers of my writings, my blog site worldwide in all of social media combined, University Professors from the US are using my words and my craft to use in their lectures and more. I’d rather make a difference in the world, use logic, common sense than having those fancy/schmancy degrees and trying to boast, and impress people, but it is not good to brag to people constantly about it.

Android VS. Apple — The difference. – In My opinion

Do not take offense to it if you are heavily into iPhone, but it is just what I have noticed. I began to dissect the difference between the two. So far Android is the winner.

~~ Android ~~

With Android phones, you can save photos, videos and files right to your computer backing it up easily with just hooking up your USB cable. You do not have to use iCloud or iTunes and always rely on them to always back up your contacts too. you have many more options of looking for apps and androids are more convenient to use and you have more options of buying different types of phones such as the Samsung, LG, HTC, Nexus, Also, to charge the battery you have options of using different types of charging ends on phones and cost less. I prefer android more than Apple in my opinion.

~~ Apple ~~

You must always use Apple products, downloading iTunes, iCloud, to always back up your photos, videos, music and other things. You cannot just directly hook up the USB to your computer and directly put the items in your documents. You are limited with the apps for apple. It is a lot more complicated to maneuver around the app, and they only have one type of charger. The ending of the chargers are a lot more flimsy and have to replace it often. Plus apple products are so much more costly. If you do not have Apple Care, then you are pretty much going to dig into your pocket a lot more. Also with that you have more of a chance to lose your contact information and photos if you make one small wrong move. Sorry, Siri

I am sticking to Android and will always be a loyal user. A lot better and easier to manage without all the sophisticated stuff, without hassle.

A Writers Passion

In life all of us, if not most of us in this world have a passion and something or somethings that we are good at, and we should always share that passion with the world. I have a passion and that is writing, telling a story, sharing my experiences, my education, my knowledge, and all the while recognizing, acknowledging things that are happening in the world and that have happened.
I have so much to contribute, write about and do so much for the world in inspiring, sharing, and during that process to being happy and also with what I do and get noticed in the entertainment capital of Los Angeles. I just hope that one day I will catch my big break into that. I am working so hard to reach my goals, to circulate my writings to people in Los Angeles.

Writing is definitely a skill that is so challenging, overwhelming sometimes and also developing writers block where there is a road blockage into rendering more thoughts and fresh ideas. It does happen, but then again a writer always gets out of that road block and gets on the road to write once again. Some write without a rough draft, and some write with brainstorming, outlining and jotting down ideas. For me, I do not need a rough draft. I just write naturally as the thoughts come through my mind and my soul.

If I was residing in Los Angeles, California I would definitely be in the entertainment industry with writing for the big directors, movie companies, soap operas, TV shows, and so much more. I know now with technology and communication that you can sit at home and transmit information to the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, but it is a lot different to sit behind a computer screen and actually being there in the action up close and personal.
It is not about being famous and being popular. It is not about that at all, but merely putting my name out there, to make a legacy for myself, to leave a mark in this world that will have a positive, incredible and wonderful impact that I will have for the citizens of this world of now, tomorrow and future.
As you may or may not know, blogs, social media, article writing, and a lot more important to me. I am so dedicated to my passion and it is a big part of my life and will forever be. It is very hard work and I absolutely love it so much and hopefully people will appreciate that hard work that it takes to write, contribute, distribute, and share to the world.

Bloggers are just as Important as Journalists

In recent years now, technology, social media and ways to communicate with the world have advanced so much. Today writers, journalists, and bloggers have discovered a way to get our feelings, points, experiences, current events, society and education across the world. That is sharing a virtual journal and diary so the world of people can read what we write. I am sure there are still people in this world that do have a hand written journal and keep contributing to it.

Now, I have come across some statuses on Facebook and other means of social media that what bloggers say is not as important as an educated journalist says that has been published in major newsletter and newspaper publications, news broadcasting sites and more. I find that to be very offensive, and so terribly rude of them to even have the audacity to write those things.

Some of us bloggers and those who contribute to social media may not be educated in journalism or some sort of writing programs, but that does not necessarily mean that we do not have a voice and that we do not matter. We are as important as a professional journalist. We also have the right to write what we feel, and nobody is better than the next person. We all have our writing styles, our abilities to share our words, thoughts, experiences, society, news, and updates about our lives and what influences us.

We also have that right to be published in major newspapers when we submit our craft to them. Just because a person has a diploma, certificate that only gets accepted in them doesn’t mean that they are more important than a person who does not possess them. When I e-mail some newspaper publications, they will not even look at me, but then I say you know what? It is their loss for not giving me that chance.

It is not about being famous, putting my name on the map of the world that people will recognize, it is mostly about getting my word across, and feeling great about it that I made someone’s day, that I inspired, educated and gave insight to somebody else who looks for a certain type of information whether it be about a school project, generalizing, and even educating one’s self about anything their heart desires to look up.

Bloggers somehow seem to have a bad rap because we tend to get more personal with our craft and that a blog is not a writing style, but merely an article that is meant for grade school and high school level that English teachers give to students to complete a creative writing assignment.

I am not saying that journalists with a diploma do not have a talent and who are not great at what they do, That is not my intention to say at all. I am saying that we bloggers and of course, journalists all have something to give out and have worked hard to get up there in the world and success is always under construction and improving, and getting up on that ladder will never end. Bloggers too! Even those who just joined the writing and blogging world. No matter how new or advanced we are, we still matter and what we do as well.

Not a lot of people can do what we do, not a lot of people can put words, sentences and phrases like we can, and they look up to us and want to read, get insight, and want us to contribute to their lives and what they are feeling or thinking about at the moment, but do not have the means to share it in writing.

I think that out of the many people who do write blogs on a daily, weekly or monthly basis have a talent, and we must utilize it. We do not have to prove to anyone anything in our craft, but just to shine what has been instilled in us. We all have a talent that we need to shine through and contribute to the world, and if writing and blogging your talent, and if you feel accomplished and good about yourself at the end of the day, then you have done your job. Never give up your passion and never let others rain on your parade. Best wishes to you on your important blogging journey.

Are We Missing out on Life’s Experiences With Screens?

Long gone are the days where simplicity, enjoyment, living life at the fullest extent, enjoying and experiencing life without the use of smartphones, tablet screens and so many more. Are we really missing out on life’s experiences? Everything in life has its limitations, and in today’s society, people tend to go overboard with posting everything and anything they see. They are not really experiencing life, they are merely trying to capture anything and everything to share on social media networks, capture photos and share them on photo sharing sites.

Long gone are the days where people used to go to concerts and shows where everyone’s eyes and attention was looking at the stage without wanding lights coming from smartphones and tablets. Now with thousands of people capturing moments with their devices, these concerts and these special events in a person’s life is being video taped by the videographer’s of the concert, venue, and even when people witness a wedding or a reception.

I understand that you want to keep your personal memories too, of which taking pictures and everything and that is fine, but always wanding a device isn’t really the same as actually witnessing something happen before your eyes. Some moments are meant to be lived without screens, and where down the road you can remember it in your mind, and the good times to remind yourself and those who you lived those memories with.

I mean yes, special and beautiful events such as babies when they are born, their actions, and everything else need to be documented and everything, and there are moments in a person’s life that should be kept private and not for the world to see. Do not worry if you tell someone what your child did, or said that they will not believe you. They will. You do not need to always have proof or a video of something.

You really do not have to be in competition with the world and join a popularity contest because you want to be the first ones to capture something and put so many hashtags, and post something for the sake of posting something. It should never be that way.

People have the perception that if they do not capture, video, then post it on social media, the internet, tweet about it, that some people think that they are lying without providing proof that things actually did occur. I think that everything has its limits and not everything should be published online. Some things should be kept a secret, things should be kept private. Unfortunately, privacy is non-existent in today’s world because of these devices.

When people travel and explore the world, people will always have that force of habit to document every moment with screens, but the world has become smaller and people are more familiar with everything because people do research and look up videos and get more curious to find things out all the time, but the important thing to remember is that it is not fair to capture something, and then the soon to be traveler going to that place will see what it is all about and then that person or person’s will not be surprised anymore. It will all be spoiled for them

Some things are meant to be left unsaid, some things are meant to be explored without having people always telling others about something. People need to experience and form their own opinions.

I am all for and support smartphones, video, cameras, tablets and other devices, and I have them as well, but there is a limit and a lot of people now have crossed that limit. Screens have become addicting and it is so on the rise, that some people cannot go 5 minutes without looking at their phone. They bring it with them to bed, they check messages before bed, waking up, during meals, at work, during cooking meals, tending to their families, even while driving. Nobody should have their phones or other devices while driving. That is not only dangerous but very ridiculous.

In the past before all these devices came out, how do you think people passed their time? There was twice as much homework to do after school for the students, school times were longer, there was no use of devices, people had to make their own games and toys to physically play with, not one of those gaming consoles, people were outside playing, enjoying the true essence of life, more love, respect and family time, people didn’t have the luxury of instantly finding information, where they had to jet off to the library to find books, encyclopedia’s without the use of the internet or software.

With all that being said, people need to put their screens down and look up to enjoy life more, to witness things, to observe, and to capture the beauty of the world with your eyes. Not with screens. They shouldn’t be your eyes. Be more social, talk, take a pen and physically write without the use of keyboards and keypads.

Think about it. Experience life, put down your device and do it right now.

The CN Tower & I

I know it is kind of crazy to even write about this, but growing up as a child and into my lower teens, I was always obsessed and loved the CN Tower a lot. Being able to get up there 2-3 times around those times was something so exciting, being able to experience the observation deck, the glass floor to see down to the street. I would see it from the 401, the Gardiner Expressway, The CNE, and a lot of places around the City of Toronto and downtown. Even from my Grandmothers balcony.

I still know the facts about the CN Tower by heart. I know its a free-standing structure and one would ask, how can someone be obsessed with a tower?

Well, I have always been and always will be sentimental and these things were and still is a big deal for me. CN Tower is one of the most important structures and one of Toronto’s major icons and that makes our skyline what it is. Every time I see it, go near it, it makes me think of my childhood. I have still kept all of the CN Tower stuff I used to collect from magazines and everything. I once had CN Tower Staff mail me a huge package full of Pictures, Facts, Figures and everything back in the day. I am not sure if they still do that now, but if you inquire it, you can e-mail them or contact them here, http://www.cntower.ca/en-ca/contact-us/contact-us.html… I wrote them a letter which I was a kid and I got my package a few weeks later. It was awesome. I still have that too.
I will forever love my City of Toronto and the CN Tower.

You can go to the tower with friends, family, schools and spend a full day at the tower and enjoy the sights, sight-see from the top of the tower, you can observe Lake Ontario, see our major highway arteries, buildings from the north, south, east and west.

Here are some facts/figures about the CN Tower:

– It is located at 301 Front St W, Toronto, ON M5V 2T6 – In the heart of Downtown Toronto

– One of Ontario, Canada’s main attractions

– The height is 553 m which equals to 1,815 feet.

– It opened it’s doors in 1976

– it is 147 Stories high.

– It has been surpassed by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai

– John Andrews is the Architect of the Free Standing Structure.

– It is a marvel in civil Engineering

– There is an Antenna which broadcasts to over 30 fm/radio and television signals across Southern Ontario with an addition to wireless paging, cellular telephone service/signlas

– There is a restaurant called 360 and it is a revolving restaurant where it turns around in a circular motion.

– The CN Tower introduced a thrill called the Edgewalk, where you walk on the edge of the Tower up top and all that is holding you is a Harness. I have never tried it, but I would love to.

– The high speed elevator takes you up to the top in 58 seconds.

– There is the skypod, lookout level which is 33 more floors up

Over Sharing on Social Media Really Needs to Stop – Furious 7 Movie

2 days ago when I was observing my News feeds and amongst other social media websites, something really began to bother me in so many ways. One that hit close to home and one that I just cannot believe. I know that the social media has boomed and has become one of the most biggest information hubs of the world, and I never knew how some people can just post anything without thinking until a couple of days ago. I just cannot believe it. It is too much. I mean enough is enough. This really pushed my buttons this time. I cannot endure that disrespectful acts from people. Just because a film just came into theaters it does not mean that you have to right away ruin it for people, and post every single darn thing. It is not cool at all.

With all due respect of the Late Paul Walker and his memory who died in 2013, November..  To all those who were close to him, his loved ones, his Fast family, the fans, I find it very disrespectful and wrong of people who are spoiling, over sharing the movie and taking parts of the movie and putting it out there, spending all that time with creating gif’s, memes, and video posts already on social media sites. This is not good to do, especially when there are such highly devoted Fans of the Furious 7 family and dishonoring Paul’s memory that way. I see people already spoiling the ending and everything and showcasing it to the world to see. It is not fair. People really need to stop that. I do not find it to be amusing at all.

Film Makers, Actors, Actresses, and everyone involved in movies work so hard, the production is hard work, very hard. Some people do not realize how much work, time, tons of money and effort is involved in making these films shine, and for them to make to our local movie theaters, then we have people who copy and use their smart phones or whatever device, to record the movie, to blab it out for everybody else is just so insensitive and down right disgraceful to those people involved in that production and directing.

There is no excuse in the book. It is never right to copy, re-produce something without written consent and permission from the intellectual owner/s of that production or whatever the case maybe. Not just in movies, but in our general life. If something is not yours and if you want it, ask for it, get written permission, do whatever you can to get things in writing before sharing somebody elses work. It is the right thing to do.

Just because it is social media, it does not mean that we have to post everything and anything we hear about, see, and do. Some things are meant to be private.

Furious 7 has not even been a week yet since the April 3rd, 2015 release and I keep seeing all these videos of the movie, and most importantly the best highlights, especially the ending part. I mean seriously? Is this a way some people want to honor and Respect Paul Walker and his cast-mates and film makers?

I saw it on Sunday April 5th, 2015 and I have not given anything away, as should be, but people do not think, people blab everything and it is not very good. Go see it in the theaters or wait to buy the movie, but don’t spoil and ruin it for everyone else who has not seen it yet. I just find that to be really terrible and thoughtless.

So enough is enough… Over Sharing needs to stop. It is really ridiculous having to spoil something for people whom have been looking forward to seeing the movie Furious 7. Instead of keeping people in suspense, and their eagerness to go to the movie theaters or the anticipation of seeing it on DVD in your own homes when the movie comes out. It ruins the fun, it ruins the curiosity. Thanks for understanding my view-point, because it is just craziness.

RIP Paul Walker — I Love you so much.
