Not a Big Fan of Microwaves and the Recipes with it.

In my life, one of the many joys I have is cooking with pots, pans, wok’s, Pyrex and all those cookware products, and making things from scratch on a stove top or putting it right into the oven or toaster oven. I prepare food in healthy and great ways to ensure that my loved ones get the proper nutrition and everything. One thing that I am not a big fan of is Microwave recipes and things to heat up in there. I seldom heat up a hot beverage or something along the lines of that during the winter months, but other than that, I resort to other cooking methods as stated above.

I used to buy microwave popcorn a lot many years ago, but then I heard the harmful chemicals and ingredients used in the bag and the popcorn itself got my stomach churning and thinking, Oh my goodness I used to eat that and all those chemicals went into my body? After that, I refrained from purchasing them, and I invested into a popcorn making machine and now I make popping corn from scratch.

I know some people have no choice in using it because they either have to heat up food that you take to at your work’s cafeteria/lunch room, or when there is a child or children in you’re household to heat up their food instantly and feeding them, or when you have guests over or whatever the case maybe. It is okay, no problem.

The ample amounts of stories and articles I have read about microwaves make me think twice even three times when it comes time to use it. I have heard the radiation that gets onto the food or the unhealthy rays that come from it and then to consume it. I can really do without that appliance. Nothing beats a real home-cooked meal without having to use recipes of microwave use.

Do you use microwaves?
Or would you rather use natural pot/pan cooking and heating methods?
What do you feel about them?

New Trends – Just Because Someone Has it – Doesn’t Mean I Have To

You may or may not have heard, seen and witnessed the many individuals whom wait in line at a store to get their hands on the newest trending in technology, fashion or other things and people want to be the first ones to purchase it, when a few months down the road or the year after they still have the same product people wait hours and hours and sometimes days for in line, and bring chairs, tents, blankets and food while they wait, which I find to be very pathetic and a total waste of time. I would utilize my time better like getting on with daily life, priorities and so much more, then having to wait for something in line. I know a lot of companies love that attention and love the money that they receive from their customers. As long as they see that green they make, its all that matters to them and some people fall for the tricks and always come up with new things so people keep on them. However, they won’t see that from me.

The only things I would wait in line for is if I have to use the washroom, if I am waiting to go on a trip to check in at the airport for my trip or whatever the case maybe that is important. Not some gadget, fashion, or whatever it is.

However, I am not one of those individuals who just because other people have to have the newest trends and products, doesn’t mean I have to as well. I can wait for it. I am my own person, and I do not like to copy others and follow people. It is not going to be the end of the world if I do not purchase that product right away. I can get it cheaper and better in months time.

A lot of people tell me why I do not have this and I do not have that, its simple, I am content, happy and satisfied with what I have, and I do not need to try and impress others because I am always up with the new trends. Around the world people do not even have shoes, clothing or when they do is when its ripped up, or anything. what should they say? I have traveled enough to know that and they are living a lot happier, and stress free with smiles on their faces. I have witnessed that. Traveling, reading the world news and seeing it with your own eyes makes you realize a lot of things about life.

Some people should be fortunate enough, and satisfied with what they and we have instead of always wanting more, always being picky about what we want, and waiting in line for a product for days and hours and hours is something that is foolish and outright craziness and does not make any sense to me whatsoever.

I mean okay if it means for you stay in line and if it makes you happy, do it, but think about it. Its foolish. Where is the common sense?

What do you think of that? What is your opinion on this?

The Boxing Day Rush – No Thank You

Well, it is that time again where Christmas is behind us, and today is boxing day. Many people will go or have already gone out for Boxing day shopping to get their hands on great sales and deals in the retail world, where people get discounted products and everything. I am one of those people who has never gone out to shopping centers, malls, and plazas to go shopping on a crazy day like today, and it just gets me stressed out. I really do not feel like getting trampled on, and attacked by other people. I would rather go shopping at a later time and not battle through big and long line ups, and I would rather shop being sane, then insane. It’s winter time, its cold, snow on the ground, what am I going to do? I would rather stay warm at home and relax, then having to venture out. The time I do go to Malls is Mid January, where things have calmed down, and where I can shop in peace.

Do you like to go shopping on Boxing day, or are you like me and stay home or stay far away from anywhere that requires shopping? If I really do not need something, I do not purchase it. Even if its on sale. When I do need something stores will always have something, so I am not in that rush to get something if I am not going to be using it. How about you?

Well, new years is a few days away. Cannot believe 2013 will be over and gone in less than a week. This year went by so quickly. It is unbelievable. How was 2013 for you? Did you do anything exciting? what were some of your highlights? Have a blessed new year, all the best to 2014.
