Looking At Pictures from The Past & Into the Present

Ever sit down one day or evening and think about opening up your photo albums shelf, drawer or wherever you store your photos, and just think about all the memories shared, the family and friends in pictures? Some of those people can still be with us, and unfortunately, some people may not be due to the passing of loved ones or those who are not part of our lives anymore. Whatever the situation can be.

In my photo albums, There have been family members and friends we have lost due to passing away and all we have are memories of pictures of them to look at which makes looking at pictures from the past bittersweet for a lot of us. It can be such an emotional moment. Those pictures become sentimental because it makes you think that, these people in my family or family friends used to be with us.

We also look at pictures from happy moments such as birthdays, weddings, engagement, travels, graduation, births, children, and so many other events in our life to capture and document them.

Nowadays, a lot of people seem to upload their memories on social media, as well as on their computers. There are people who still go out to develop photos to keep outside of technology and to me looking at photos that way seem all the more personal and a great feeling without the usage of a screen. I think the traditional method is the greatest. You know what they say, a Pictures says a thousand words and it definitely does. Sometimes you become speechless and just admire the moment that you do see the picture. In present time pictures get sent instantly within seconds.

I became a sentimental person a long time ago since I was about 5-6. My parents always taught me the importance of keeping things that are greeting cards, to gifts, and so many other things. Not to the point where it clutters my space, but super important things, and even things I have kept from my travels from airline boarding passes, airline tickets, baggage tags, and even shampoo bottles and logos of resorts or hotels in the room or around my travels.

Do you still go to get your photos developed?

Award Shows & Fashion Styles Season is Here

It is that time of year again. The award show season with Screen Actors Guild Awards, Golden Globes Awards, Emmy’s, People’s Choice Awards, The Oscars, and Academy Awards are going to be shown in the next few weeks. The red carpets begin to be laid out, the world’s stage, millions of people tuning in, the glitz, glamour, celebrities, actors, actresses, film makers, directors, screen writers, nominees, in the hopes that they will get on stage to receive awards. The photographers, media, trending on social media begins, and instant uploads of videos and photos for the online world.

Now, in recent years the fashion styles of the dresses have changed drastically. I think that the dresses are a little too revealing, and some of the dresses the actresses and others wear show too much skin, also some of them have tails at the bottom, and they are also tight. These award shows are seen by millions of people around the world, the photographers, videographers, celebrity and entertainment news, bloggers and others always capture their every move, what these celebrities wear.

It is a big deal. At award shows these people that attend them, need to show discretion on the type of styles they do wear. They have to be comfortable, elegant, formal, all at the same time. Also, the high heels these actresses wear are just too high. When you know that millions of people’s eyes will be on you, you have to set a great example in having great fashion sense, fashion etiquette that there is a time and place to wear everything. These fashion designers absolutely love the attention that their craft is being showcased around the world. Which is fine, and really great, however when you attend big award shows, you must think about your audience, and who is seeing what you are wearing.

I am talking about the dresses that are too revealing on top, in the front and too open in the back all the way to the top of the buttocks. It is too much. being discreet and showing elegance is important.

Nowadays anything goes without thinking about using discretion. They need to think about what they wear before attending these award shows.

What do you think about it? Do you think that the fashion needs to change and they need to start wearing non-revealing and more elegant gowns?

My Ultimate Dream Wedding, My Dream Prince Charming

When I was a little girl, I used to always dream of my fairytale wedding and I admit, I still do even though I do not have anybody in my life right now, and I never have yet. I believe it will happen to me when I least expect it. Sometimes I feel like I am not attractive enough for guys, but I know in my previous blog post I wrote about you are beautiful no matter what anybody says and I always think positively, but I do admit sometimes negativity takes over, but as soon as those feelings come to me, I snap out of it and think positively that my prince will soon come to me and he will think I am the most beautiful to him and I am really important to him and he loves me with all his heart, mind and soul, with someone who will protect, care and appreciate me for who I am. I hope I will find someone who both of us have that special chemistry and we have a lot of things in common. Everyday I wake up, I am hopeful I will find that special someone who shares the same qualities as I do. I am looking for someone honest, straight forward, funny, someone who is fun, who likes to travel, who has respect and appreciation.

Anyway,¬†Let me tell you a bit about¬†how my childhood dreams of my ultimate wedding.¬†I used to take my moms white see through drapes, and I used to use them as a veil. I took my moms white gown and used it as a wedding dress, I took silk flowers from the house and made it into a bouquet, I would go into my mothers make up drawer and used to put lipstick and blush to look like a bride. When I was a kid, I used to have a toy princess Tiara and I used to put that on, then I wore my moms shoes. In my old house, I had a long hallway and I used to pretend I am walking down the Aisle and I used to have an imaginary fiance/husband, with bridesmaids, and pretend guests. It was so fun. Since I didn’t have friends when I was a kid outside my home from school and stuff, I used to have these imaginary friends and I used to invite them to my wedding and then after, I would put some music in my room and pretend I am dancing, then I threw my bouquet. After attending many weddings when I was a kid, I was very observant and I used to watch very closely so as I can play it at home. I had such a blast doing so. It made me feel like a princess for that hour. I used to do that every few days, then I grew out of it by the time I reached 11-12 years old. My mom saw me a few times and she thought I was the cutest little bride ever.

Right now at my age, I still have thoughts on my dream wedding and my criteria has changed a lot of course on how I want the colours to be, bridesmaids, maid of honour, best man, the photos, limo, flowers, invitations, the church, the decorations, my wedding dress, my hair, make-up, the whole wedding ambience. I love weddings. I have been a bridesmaid twice in my life and coincidentally they both happened this year of 2011. It was an incredible feeling to be asked to be a bridesmaid for the first time ever in my life and to take part in wedding parties where as in my whole life, I never got to be in it and I never got to be dolled up with my hair, make up and beautiful dresses. It made me feel so great and it meant a lot to me to be chosen. I know that the dress, the whole wedding day is just a day to get married, and the most important thing is after the ceremony and how your going to live with your husband or wife, and its important after wearing the white gown and having a special day with family and friends. The future is the most important part of what happens tomorrow and the sacrifices both have to make.

Now, I still have dreams to have my bridesmaids wear pink dresses and have pink flowers, but I came to like Purple Themes a lot better and Purple is such a beautiful colour for wedding dresses. Any Purple colour, mostly violets, lavenders. Its so beautiful. I want my bouquet with a mix of purple/white/cream pink¬†roses. A big round bouquet, and my 4-5¬†bridesmaids wearing purple/violet dresses, and with them having white roses with purple, the church to be decorated with beautiful flowers on the chairs, and an arch by the altar, My dress to be like a ball gown, my¬†hair done up with a beautiful tiara/veil,¬†the photos of the wedding to be professional and a lot with different angles, and different poses for the camera, a nice beautiful stretched limo, the reception hall decorated with an array of purples/whites/pinks… My cake with thick icing, and on the top instead of putting the little bride and groom, have my future husbands name and my name fully put. Our first dance to be the song All My Life by KC and JOJO, lots of dancing, the food to be Armenian / Italian dishes, the centrepieces below eye level and something with purple/white candles with a circle of roses, the bouquet toss, garter toss, the speeches. I plan to get Married just once, so I want that day to be special, perfect and like a fairytale with my family and friends to share that special day with me and to have an incredible wedding party.

I hope I will get lucky and find my prince charming soon.
