The Oscars Are Around The Corner – 85th Academy Awards

It is that time again where the 85th Annual Oscars Academy Awards are on the way this Sunday on February 24th, 2013. The glitz, glamor, dresses, the ambiance, displays, celebrities, artists, and celebrating an evening filled with incredible and great talent that makes television and movies the way they are now. I never miss a year of the Oscars and I always watch it. I make some amazing dishes for dinner and snacking, and prepare for the Oscars. It is a tradition in my family where we watch the Oscars and pick out our nominees and see who will win. I think ARGO is going to win this year. I have this feeling they are. I have never seen the movie yet, but I have heard incredible reviews and read so much about it. I haven’t seen most of the movies that are Oscar Academy nominees, but I plan to watch them. I don’t watch every movie out there, but the ones that are interesting to me. So I will watch ARGO when the DVD comes out.Who do you think the Award should go to for best picture and for best movie of the year? Django Unchanged? Les Miserables? or others?

The only thing is we don’t usually dress up for the occasion, we just have a cozy night in and watch the red carpet preview, then the award itself. Do you think Seth Macfarlane will do a great job as a host? I am confident he will be. I am sure he will add a flare of comedy into his introduction to the Oscar night. It must be an honor to be chosen to be a host for such a huge night in Entertainment. I wish him all the best in that and I am rooting for Seth. Way to go! I also liked it when Ellen DeGeneres Hosted as well. She added so much to it. I don’t know if you remember that year.

Do you have an Oscars Academy awards tradition? What do you do? Do you watch the Oscars? What do you think of the fashions as the years go by? Do you concentrate on everything in the background, and whats happening on camera? I am sure a lot of people do. I am thrilled and excited for Sunday. Are you?

Introducing You “Vahe Tilbian” A Fantastic Performer, Singer, Dancer

Hello everyone, I would like to introduce you to a long time friend of mine of 8 years and his name is Vahe (VAH-HEY) Tilbian. We met through an Armenian Youth Organization in Canada and When I flew to Vancouver, British Columbia back in 2005 for the Armenian Youth Sports Weekend that took place in July, 2005, We met officially and became friends. Since then we have been in touch and hes such a fabulous, talented and incredible person who is so artistic in performing, singing, dancing. His passion and dedication toward the art of music, dancing and the whole entertainment world is so wonderful and beautiful. His voice is so therapeutic, beautiful and brightens the room when you enter. Vahe possesses so much beauty and demonstrates his dedication toward his culture, and in both Ethiopian and Armenian. Below is his biography and what he has to say in his own words from his Facebook page Vahe Music.

In his own words, here is a mini biography about him and his performing history.

My interest in music and dance started early on as I was and still am surrounded by a very musical family. At age 3 I used to go listen to my aunt and uncle rehearse with their band (Sevan Band). This was later strengthened by classical piano lessons for almost 7 years and singing in the Armenian Church choir. Later also joined the Motley Singers of Addis Ababa for a few years as lead tenor.
Armenian by origin, Ethiopian by nationality and still living in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. Currently working on an album which I am hoping will be an eclectic mix of these two very unique cultures, tied together under an alternative genre of music.
Currently also working with Z Beyaynetus band, Kenny Allen and the 251 as well as opening the weekly show and singing supporting vocals with Zeritu Kebede.

An artist, an entertainer.
I’m a singer/songwriter, a dancer, a writer trying to make myself heard out there to whoever is interested in hearing, in listening. To whoever is interested in looking and seeing, interpreting and deducing.

My Favourite Movies Of All Time

Yesterday on Television, on TV Tropolis, they were showing some older films and I watched Airplane and Airplane 2: The sequel, and I really love those kinds of movies with that humour. most of the actors in the movie passed away in recent years. It is still hard to believe that Leslie Neilson passed away. Anyway, I know the movie so well, that I knew exactly what they are going to say or the next scene. It was so funny and I still laugh every time. Some movies you watch and watch again and still laugh like it is your first time watching it. Some movies you just watch once or twice, but the rest you can watch several times. i just don’t like the commercials when I watch the movies. I know there is a way to delete the commercials while watching a movie, but I don’t have that feature like TiVo or something. Anyway, Here are my movie choices of all time.

The Ugly Truth, Home Alone, Home Alone 2 Lost in New York, National Lampoons Vegas Vacation, Christmas Vacation, European Vacation, Airplane, Airplane 2, Weekend At Bernie’s, Dennis the menace, Father of the Bride, Mrs Doubtfire, Forrest Gump, My Girl, Naked Gun movies, Hot shots, hot shots part deux, Babies day out, Hangover, Hangover 2, Campaign, Vince Vaughn movies, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Bradley Cooper, Alex O’loughlin, and so many other actors movies and so many other movies. I am such a big movie fan, I love comedy, romantic comedy, I like the notebook, dear john, and I like to get new movies all the time, and go to the theater once in a while. It depends if it’s a really good movie. or else I just wait for the DVD or Blue Ray to come out to the stores?

What are your movie choices? What do you like to watch? What are your interests when it comes to entertainment? Soon in the coming weeks I will be doing critics on movies and what they mean to me and I will be giving my insight on them. I will be doing that soon. Stay tuned! Have a lovely day!
