Parties and Wedding RSVP Frustration and Annoyance

In life, we have special moments that come up with friends and family and planning parties, weddings and everything else is absolutely so difficult with inviting people and it becomes so stressful. When you want people to be part of your special day and when you enjoy the process of setting up the cards, mailing them out, and happily do it until stress strikes.

It is not everything that is the most difficult, frustrating and annoying; it is sending the invites to people with a due date that is never honoured and respected and some take their sweet time and others respect it and send the invite on time, whereas others respond after the due date. Some you have to remind. It is absolutely crazy.

You also have those people who don’t respond at all and then just show up. It doesn’t work like that. In most cases RSVP Cards come in, people need to fill those out and return them. The people inviting put postage stamps and have those cards out for a reason. To get organized. You can’t just tell the person they are coming by mouth. Chances are the people planning the wedding or event will forget, so it’s important to fill out the cards and mail it back in a time-sensitive and timely manner.

When you get an invite to any party, it is either a yes or a no. It is not that difficult. You look at your schedule, and boom, you answer and send back the RSVPs. It is not cool to wait for people to respond back while you have a million things to do and plan with the tables, how many favours or gifts you need to get for the guests arriving to your party as well as financially too with how many people you need to pay for.

It really isn’t easy to plan things when some people do not co-operate and respect you enough to send the RSVP’s back. It is common courtesy. It isn’t nice at all having someone wait and then hunting people down with calling, messaging, emailing, texting them until the last weeks of the wedding to see if it is a yes or a no.

Then there are those people who respond with attending, and then you write them down on a table card or chart and then they never show up or give an explanation as to why they did not bother to show up where you spent money for their meal. It is absolutely unfair and disgusting behaviour which needs to really stop. Some do not even respond back and you know you sent it to them and it did get sent to them or else it will be returned back to the person who mailed them with the return address.

Weddings and parties all go smoothly with planning until it comes time to the people attending them. You expect people to respond right away, but that never happens and it probably never will even with a strict time limit and being time sensitive.

The guests don’t think about how much work it takes to plan tables and everything. If you have ever been in these shoes where you plan an event and you wait for responses, it’s absolutely so frustrating and annoying and so absolutely ridiculous.

Yes, I realize some people cannot financially to maybe afford to go to parties, weddings and everything, but there is no excuse not to answer on due dates. It is not right at all. There is no excuse unless something very very important comes up or some other things arise, but it doesn’t give someone the right to delay an RSVP.

Have you ever been through this situation? Have you been frustrated and annoyed with this? Would love to hear all about it.

All the best with planning. It is not easy.

Not a Big Fan of Microwaves and the Recipes with it.

In my life, one of the many joys I have is cooking with pots, pans, wok’s, Pyrex and all those cookware products, and making things from scratch on a stove top or putting it right into the oven or toaster oven. I prepare food in healthy and great ways to ensure that my loved ones get the proper nutrition and everything. One thing that I am not a big fan of is Microwave recipes and things to heat up in there. I seldom heat up a hot beverage or something along the lines of that during the winter months, but other than that, I resort to other cooking methods as stated above.

I used to buy microwave popcorn a lot many years ago, but then I heard the harmful chemicals and ingredients used in the bag and the popcorn itself got my stomach churning and thinking, Oh my goodness I used to eat that and all those chemicals went into my body? After that, I refrained from purchasing them, and I invested into a popcorn making machine and now I make popping corn from scratch.

I know some people have no choice in using it because they either have to heat up food that you take to at your work’s cafeteria/lunch room, or when there is a child or children in you’re household to heat up their food instantly and feeding them, or when you have guests over or whatever the case maybe. It is okay, no problem.

The ample amounts of stories and articles I have read about microwaves make me think twice even three times when it comes time to use it. I have heard the radiation that gets onto the food or the unhealthy rays that come from it and then to consume it. I can really do without that appliance. Nothing beats a real home-cooked meal without having to use recipes of microwave use.

Do you use microwaves?
Or would you rather use natural pot/pan cooking and heating methods?
What do you feel about them?

Have A Clean Kitchen While Cooking and Baking – Here is How

Do you ever wonder why it takes a long time to clean up after doing your cooking, baking and spending so much time after all that is done to clean, wipe mess, washing so many dishes and having to deal with a big mess after dealing with scrap of food left on the counter-tops, in the sink, or dropped on the floor? Are you looking for efficient ways to spend more time with your loved ones and less time in the kitchen preparing, cleaning, washing dishes and all that jazz?

Here are some tips and tricks to keep you organized in the kitchen and having a spic and span kitchen:

– When you know what you are cooking or baking, take out all the ingredients and food that you will use all in one section.

– Take out cutlery, cooking utensils, plates, bowls, cutting boards, pots and pans and have them ready.

– Foods, Veggies, Fruits, or other things that must be washed thoroughly and very well, wash them first before you turn on the oven or anything. before you wash them take out stems, and ends on fruits, veggies, and then throw all the scrap in the garbage before starting anything else, then if you see your counter-top dirty or cutting board. Give it a rinse and wipe down the surfaces while doing so. have a clean cloth.

– Wash whatever utensils, cutting board before you start to cook, so that you know not to worry about washing so many dishes at the end.

– When dealing with meats, have a separate cutting board or bowls to marinate your meats or however you want to cook it. Always a good idea to mix all your ingredients in a separate bowl then incorporate it with the meats so it will have an even flavour, then after you wash the bowl you mixed the ingredients with so that again less time washing later.

– Set up your table while the pan, pot is getting warm and hot and then that is where you start to cook. Now each time you put your food in the pan or pot or whatever, again wash the bowls that you put your food in and then all you need to do is just focus on cooking, then having to wash so many dishes before people come over, and having to clean up a huge mess in the kitchen. Have clean cloths ready and toss the other dirty cloths in the laundry hamper.

– When baking, it’s always a good idea to store your flour in a safe place so that you can just take it out, take the amount of flour needed then putting it back before you start any baking or anything. For safety reasons and for spill prevention all around. The sugar or baking powder that you use too. put everything back after using instantly.

– Now you want to give your guests your undivided attention and you want to spend as much time with them as possible right? So when you know they are coming over, always prepare things before hand and have things organized because if you start cooking, and everything when they are over, you will spend so much time in the kitchen and less time with your guests, family, friends or whoever comes over, so you want to prevent that and get organized with everything.

– It is a good idea to clean and wash left over dishes left from cooking or baking, then put them away and out of your sight so that all you need to wash are people’s plates, utensils and the cooking pans, pots which then shouldn’t take so long to do and when people ask would you like some help, include them into your cleaning process. gets done quicker and more time to relax later on.

Nowadays time is very precious and a lot of us deal with work, school, kids, family, friends, and this world has become so fast paced with everything like technology and its changed so much and we barely have time with our loved ones and the people who matter to us the most, and we want to do everything we can to make time and to save 10 minutes there, 5 minutes there, half an hour, so that is why I have come up with a method of cooking, cleaning in the kitchen so that you do not have to do it later and spend hours cleaning your house where you can spend hours with your family. I know with kids, pets or both can be a struggle to clean the house, but then again you gain more time with your family which is so important.

A Clean House Is A Happy Talin – I Love Cooking & Cleaning

For several years now since I was a little kid, I have always had this eye for organization, wanting to learn new things, cooking, and how to clean efficiently and among everything else. I learned how to cook since I was 8 years old, and I started to clean and tidy up when I was 4 years old. My mom and dad always taught me the importance of cleanliness, organization and neatness so that when I want to look for something it will be easy to find when things are organized and neat. Now that I am almost 28 years old 7 days from now, All those skills and things I experienced is something that my mom tells me that you clean better than I do now, and your always finding new things to do in the house, how to organize, and everything better than I do. I said I only learned from the best and when I have my own home one day, you will be happy with what I am going to do with it. My mom has looked after me all these years for the past so many years now I keep telling my mom to relax and put her feet up, I will do the cooking and stuff. I love to cook a lot. It takes a lot of my stress out and I enjoy doing these things, and looking after the house. I find complete joy when I do. My parents really appreciate all that I do and to make sure the house is in tip top shape.

Every person we have who come over, they say this place is so spotless and so clean. Everything is well maintained. I said thank you. To me it is important to keep my place clean and tidy and up to date. I like to hear compliments and leave a great impression on family and guests who come over and I don’t like to hear that this persons place is so filthy and they don’t know how to clean a house. I don’t like hearing those things, so I like to maintain my house every 2 or 3 days, but the kitchen area I always maintain everyday, clean out the fridge, and never leave dishes in the sink and I always wash them, dry them and put them away, wash down the counter tops and kitchen table with vinegar and water, and clean my floors with vinegar and water. I don’t use other chemicals for my home. The house does smell like a salad for a couple of hours, but it shines and cleans it right down. Oh happy joy joy. I get so excited when it comes to cleaning. I know you must say this woman is crazy, but it fills my day with joyfulness.

I have so much to do everyday. There aren’t enough hours in the day. I love doing laundry too and the smell of the laundry detergent is so great. I love the smell of it, and folding my laundry after is something I enjoy too. When I put laundry away, I co-ordinate by colour too so as I know what I have and don’t have. I designate a day in the week to do Laundry, to vacuum, to mop the floors, but I usually do all the floor work in one day. I have a central vac in the house so I never sweep my floors anymore. I only vacuum and then I mop after. Its so much easier without dust and stuff going all around with the broom. You just vacuum and its done in less time.

Do you like to clean, cook and do you find joy in doing housework? What does a clean house mean to you?

Would love to hear from you.

Less Time In The Kitchen, More Time With Guests

Have you ever been in a situation where people come over and your not even ready with things to serve to people who come? Have you ever been in a situation when people come over and you don’t spend much time with them all because your in the kitchen preparing things? I am sure all of us have been through it all. Now I am here to give you some tips and tricks to spend less time in a kitchen and more time entertaining guests with your presence when they come over. Here are some tips:

1. Always have things in your home when you can take it out and serve like cookies, cakes, fruits, veggies, and snacking items. If your the one who likes making things from scratch, that is more better when it’s home made. It makes your guests feel like wow, they spent time to make this for us. which is a nice feeling.

2. Always have everything ready on the counter or on your kitchen table, if they want tea, just keep the water in a stove-top kettle or in a small appliance kettle which heats up water quicker and if they want coffee set up the water and the coffee and when they come, you just push a button, and then you just bring it over to your guests or have them come toward the kitchen area if you have space.

3. It is not a good idea to spend more than half the time in the kitchen. It is not a good way to entertain guests.

4. When people come for dinner, do not start on dinner preparations when they come over, have it all done, and set on the table. especially when it involves meats, chickens and stuff, make sure you have it all cooked and ready and all you need to do is take it out when they come. If your going to barbecue, make sure you prepare things before they come and all you need to do is just put the meat on the grill or whatever else and your good to go.

5. When people bring chocolates, dessert, coffee, or something else edible, or a gift for the house its customary and its a must to serve what they brought to you. Its respectful to open up their gifts they give you in front of them and thank them a few times while they are at your house, and find the perfect place for it in front of them. Unless they advise you not to open it, you can open it later, then that’s okay, but usually they would want you to open it up in front of them. They won’t tell you, but they will in other ways.

6. It is not a bad thing to ask for help to bring the trays to the table. Ask for help when needed just to bring over trays and help you pick up the stuff after. all it takes is a few seconds to have it all cleared right?

——————–

There you have it. Always put your guests first when they come over. Spending much time with them as possible and spending less time in the kitchen is very important. These little things you do, show a lot to others and when you do, they will want to keep coming back.

Have a great time!
