My Beautiful 30th Champagne Birthday Celebration

On April 30, 2015 I turned 30 years old. They say that the day you are born of the month and the age you turn becomes your champagne birthday. It was a big milestone I celebrated about a week or so ago. On May 1st, 2015 All my great friends who are like family to me came and celebrated my birthday with me. There were so many surprises for me one after the other and I was absolutely touched and from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate all the hard work, determination, dedication and everything that went to giving me the best birthday celebration of my life.

This week has just been incredibly overwhelming and the beautiful feelings I had and still do. I was so absolutely touched and surprised so beautifully, that even as a writer/blogger myself, I just didn’t know and have all the words to say how grateful I am for all the excellent incredible detailing that went into my beautiful party. I apologize deeply that it took me a while to put all my full feelings and input on my birthday celebration.

First and foremost, I want to acknowledge, and thank my sister/good friend Aline Rosy of many many years now, who is a ray of sunlight and brightness in my life and 2-3 months before my birthday, when we were discussing my birthday celebration details, and where I want to celebrate my birthday, it took a while for me to decide where and we finally decided to have the party at my house. So as the weeks and days got closer, Aline went to the ends of the earth to make sure my birthday will be a very memorable and special one and she sure demonstrated excellency from her caring heart, her beautiful soul into making everything so perfect. Not one thing was left out.

As my birthday week finally arrived, My Sisters Aline and Talar came and assisted with decorating my place to make it all ready. Now as the day on May 1st when I had my party arrived, I had one surprise come to me after the other. It was fantastic and absolutely beautiful.

Aline

She made this incredible bean dip with cheese, and other yummy ingredients, which was so delicious. I could not stop eating it and which was all finished the very next day with left overs.
– She also ordered and custom made a special yummy birthday cake which was the Facebook Like Thumbs up symbol made by Alice Lumsden Vee which represented me and my social media journey. I said in my mind, I have to cut this beautiful cake now?
– She also surprised me with delicious image cookies by Passion For Desserts with images from Bradley Cooper, Social Media, I love Montreal, Boston, Champagne Bottles, Armenia Flag, My Image, my 30th birthday, My Expertise in Cooking, also Travel, done by Alxiomir Portales.
– She then surprised me with a beautiful collage on a big board filled with all my great memories, and everyone who is in my circle, and my world with stickers and everything that represent me and my life and my moments from the past to the present.
– Also All the other detailing that was beautifully thought of and done.

Aline’s excellent efforts did not go unnoticed and everything went so well. That night will forever be embedded in my heart and it will spoken about for years to come. I am absolutely grateful for everything. I cannot thank her enough. I love you so much, so deeply. Not just for everything you did, but just for being you, and for being one of the greatest friends well more so part of my family, for being there for me, and loving me unconditionally. Hugs and kisses. I am truly blessed.
—————————————————————————————————————————–

You Are Beautiful, It is The Society That Is Ugly

I do not even know where to begin with this. This is something that makes my blood boil and which gets me so angry. The society is an evil one with media and everything else that make-up makes girls and women beautiful and the society defines that, they are not good enough the way they are. It really gets on my nerves. These cosmetic companies are there to make money and they keep telling girls to keep wearing make-up, to keep up with the new trends of foundation, lipsticks, and everything and they get something embedded in girls, and women’s minds that they have to keep going to the local store to buy make-up and people dish out hundreds of dollars for these things. The society is what is making girls and women ugly and the society is ugly, the media is ugly, not women and girls. Everyone is beautiful and make-up should never define real beauty.

Yes I wear make-up but not everyday. Once in a while when I am at a party or something, but Make-up is something that I don’t really use. Real beauty comes from ourselves, our inner spirit, our inner selves. Women and girls are so beautiful and never forget that. All those chemicals, all those things you put on your face is something that is a concern. yes Make-up is fun, its fun to put on, and its one of the girly woman thing to do when with girlfriends, but don’t ever let that define who you are, don’t ever convince yourself of these make-up ads, that you’re not good enough and you have to look like those models who wear it. Photoshop, Airbrushed ad’s are so ridiculous. Everyone has a unique look to them, everyone is beautiful in their own ways. The society is making us believe that were not and that we have to keep putting this stuff on. All they care about is money and money unfortunately speaks louder, and they do not care about real beauty. No matter what they think and try to cover up (literally) their tracks and saying no it’s not true, were not trying to take away real women and girls beauty, but on the contrary, they are.

This is a really big issue and a lot of women and girls are faced with this challenge everyday and it makes me sad to see them not feeling good about themselves, not feeling like they are worth it, not feeling like they are not good enough. It pains me to see it and hear it happen, it really upsets me so much. I start to cry when people put themselves down, and calls oneself ugly, and hideous, and all these negative thoughts that render into their minds. It is all in their minds, but they should get rid of all those thoughts and feelings, your great just the way you are. YOU ARE!!! Cosmetics are evil. I am telling you. I have always encountered people especially teenagers that think make up is the best, but it is not to be honest with you. Make up should be worn on special occasions, and Halloween.

I am not trying to put these companies down, but it’s about time, that girls and women look in the mirror without make-up and look at themselves really closely and say in the mirror, I am beautiful. I do not need these chemicals on my face. A little lip gloss or lip balm and to keep the face clean and moisturizer is the way to go. Do me a favor ladies. Do not let the society, media, commercials, ads, magazine ads, define you and don’t let them control your feelings, don’t let them walk all over you, don’t let them tell you otherwise. Your beautiful and that is final!

The Joyful Moments Of Cooking. How Much I Love It

In my life, one of the most joyful and satisfaction I receive is when I cook, bake and enjoy my time in the kitchen with all my favourite kitchen appliances that make my cooking a lot more enjoyable and fun at the same time. I was 8 years old and I remember cooking rice for the very first time. It was the best feeling in the world when my mom taught me how to wash it and cook it. Now with my mom’s supervision she watched me as I cooked and she said, great job and it was my first time doing it. I got so excited. From then on, I started cooking a lot for my family and then as soon as I turned 14 years old, I did not need supervision anymore, and I could do everything on my own. I learned how to make lasagna, chicken soup, and other different types of food since I was 10 years old. When I turned 20 years old, I began to take over the kitchen and I would tell my mom to go relax, and I told her I got this. So now without my mom being in the kitchen, I do all sorts of dishes, I bake cakes, cupcakes, I make cookies, jello, home-made ice cream, fruit platters, salads, I marinate meats, I make meatballs, Ravioli, Armenian and Middle Eastern Dishes, I make my famous Chilli, different types of breakfast, dips, sauces, and everything, Among other delicious things that my family, and who comes over to my house, that always want seconds and even thirds sometimes. I sometimes think, I should have made extra, but I love it when there is no left overs.  I love making everything from scratch. I seldom go and buy ready-made easy stuff, I enjoy making it all on my own. The best way to make it and you know exactly what is going into your food without all the added calories and ready-made products. Sometimes you see ready-made pasta, and lasagna trays from the grocery store, I never even touch those. I make mine fresh. You never know how long those things have stayed like that. I’d rather do it myself and it is a lot more fun that way.

I remember a time when I invited my whole group of friends over for Armenian Style Ravioli Called (Mante, Manti, Mantuh, Mantee, However they spell it), and the whole extra-large pot finished amongst everyone and to this day, they want my Armenian Style Ravioli, but that day will come again when I will invite them over.  I remember a time when I cooked for over 20-25 people and all on my own. I had over 4 or 5 different dishes with salads, meats, and rice. It was a lot of fun although it was very hard to take it all on myself, but I made sure that the flavours were perfect and that everyone enjoyed it and they sure did. I love taking on big tasks on my own. Although it is great to receive help too, but I like taking on challenges and doing things on my own. especially when it comes to cooking. I don’t know, but I have become a perfectionist in the kitchen and I just love things to be cooked evenly, the sizes and I love the presentation. Even if it’s just for my family on a regular dinner night. I just love the presentation. I get the joys and satisfaction when doing so.

When I go grocery shopping, I also donate food to the less fortunate, and I put food in the food bank boxes that are put in front of grocery stores or in certain shelters, at my church they have food banks and I put a few non-perishable food items in the box. I love donating food to them. Knowing that a family out there who is less fortunate and needy is fed, that also makes me happy and that also makes me feel great that someone doesn’t have to go to bed hungry at night. It feels great to donate.

Food is my specialty and knowing that my family enjoys it and knowing that I made this with my love and care is what it important to me. I don’t cook because I have to everyday and I don’t cook for the sake of it, I actually love doing what I do and making sure my family is fed with the best possible nutrition.  Happy Cooking everyone!

Music is A Universal Language

Hello everyone, I don’t think I have ever emphasized my love for music and what is does to me and my soul and how it makes my world so great. Now, music has been part of me since I was a kid, but lately I have been listening to more and more, and plus it depends on the mood I am in that specific day and time of my life, but here are my favourite music genre’s and what the music reminds me of and how it is for me.

Reggaeton/Cubaton/Spanish/Caribbean/Soca/Reggae/Bachata/Salsa/Merengue/ — All these music genres remind me of my travels to The Caribbean, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and when I went on Cruise ships. I have a lot of this type of music and it just makes me feel like I am in tropical destinations around the world and it makes me feel like I am sipping a coconut by the beach, and just hearing this music in the background. It is awesome and great beats to soothe my mood at that point in time.

Armenian/Arabic/Middle Eastern/Greek/Persian/ — Now, this is what I usually listen to and I love this type of music too because it reminds of get together, parties, and outings within my Armenian community and we have all these types of music playing at our parties and among in our homes too. We love our Music and we play all these kinds. I know we are Armenian, but we listen to all these kinds of music and we dance and just have fun with it all. We also have Armenian Patriotic Music as I am sure with Arabic, Middle Eastern, Greek and Persian music too. We play that toward the ending of some parties I attend.

Pop/Alternative/Classic Rock/70’s/80’s/90’s/ — These I listen to when I am in the mood, but mostly I listen to them when I am with other friends and family and with those who like this music like me. Its something I listen to once in a while or a few times a month. Now when I go to parties too and when I hang out with people.

Dance/Freestyle/House/Trance/Rhythms/ — I listen to this a lot too. I have a huge playlist on my Ipod and I listen to it when I am just in the mood. Like I said, I am selective to music as long as it suits what I am feeling that day and when I am happy and jumpy, this is the type of music I get into.

Television Theme Songs are my favourite too.

So you can say I am into mostly everything and there are some types that are not my cup of tea, but I am sure that goes for everyone. I am into Country music too, but I am mostly interested in the ones above. I used to carry a huge cd collection, but now I have them all in my Ipod and carry it around. Times have sure changed, but nothing beats the Cassette tapes and music of the past, but although this time around the music has changed and everything, but music from the past is a whole different story. You could actually hear every word said, and you can actually understand the meaning behind what these artists would say, but then again times have surely changed, technology has changed a lot and advanced a lot. I think now with all this music talk, I am gonna go listen to some now. 🙂

Have a wonderful day!

I Really Enjoy The Tumblr Website – I find So Many Great Things

For a few months now, I have been on Tumblr website and I am finding a lot of incredible things such as great quotes, clever quotes and things that make you think about how to deal with certain situations. I use tumblr mainly to look at quotes and inspiring quotes to put on my facebook, twitter and use those quotes in my day to day life. I have so many quote pictures I have saved and I look at them and say, wow it does make sense. I like things about happiness, positivity, motivation, dedication and determination. Its such a great site where so much is published and I see the same ones on facebook’s positive and quote pages. I like to share things like this a lot. especially on my fan page on facebook “A Writer Named Talin Orfali”. I don’t like seeing people miserable and unhappy and I always try to send out these positive quotes and I do my best to make people think positively and be happy in ones life no matter what is happening. Tumblr is a website where I recommend to anybody where there is anything you want to look for whether it’s quotes, interesting pictures, and interesting memes, as well as humorous things, but there are also crazy things on there, but I am more interested in the good things and the positive side of it all.

I am usually on Tumblr about an hour or so a day and whatever is of interest to me, I keep it for my personal self. I totally recommend this site.
