New York City – City That Never Sleeps

This month of October, 2014, it was my second adventure in New York City. first trip was when I was 11 years old. I didn’t remember much of it, however now as I have gotten much older, I became more observant. In the past decade, and more years before,

I always heard and seen those New York based Television shows, Talk Shows, and movies. Just to name a few like Friends, How I met your Mother, Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman, Seinfeld, Saturday Night Live, the movie Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, The Colbert Report, Rachael Ray, NYPD Blue, CSI: NY, Regis & Kelly, Now Kelly & Michael, and so many others. as I was strolling down the streets of NYC, all those shows came to mind. Even fashion, and celebrities have come to my mind when I was there.

NYC is a beautiful city with so many people, Yellow NYC Taxi Cabs that are everywhere, FDNY, NYPD, Times Square, Rockefeller Centre, Central Park, Madison Square Gardens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Lower Manhattan, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Hudson River, and so many other attractions. I know the traffic is brutal there and everything, however It is very exciting to be amongst that many people in one of the biggest cities of the world. So many trains, subways zig zagging, it looks like spaghetti on the map. Its insane, but its amazing to have great transit in such a huge city.

I was almost going to cry because everything you see on Television and online on the internet, comes to life, and you will say hey I have been there and I have seen it. It is an incredible thing. I am definitely heading back to NYC.

I did not have enough time to visit Ground Zero of which the 2 Twin Towers once stood to pay my respects to the September 11, 2001 attacks, and visiting the Statue of Liberty as well. However I plan to make another trip soon and visit both and spend more up close and personal time with the City and to thoroughly enjoy it more with of course a lot more time. I was just there for a quick visit for 2-3 days.

Frank Sinatra was definitely right. I have been listening to Frank Sinatra even before leaving to New York, and his song New York, New York has been stuck in my head. He says in his song that “it is a city that doesn’t sleep” which is was spot on. I love those lyrics of that song. I felt like Frankie was with me in the streets of New York. Next time I am going to listen to that song when I am there.

If you have never been there. It is good to visit, at least once, twice maybe 3 times or however many times as you wish. Start Spreading the news! 🙂 I want to be a part of it, its up to you, NEW YORK, NEW YORK!

Fashion Comfort VS Fashion Pain

In my life as I was growing up, I was always paying attention to fashion, always asking my mom when I was a kid, Mom I only want this kind of clothing and shoes, and I used to be a big brand name supporter, but my mom always taught me sweetie, its better to be comfortable and wear good clothing, not to try to grow up so fast, but in the last few years its been all about comfort for me rather than having fashion pains. I know that there is nothing greater like quality of the clothing, shoes I wear, but I am not one of those people anymore to be running around and finding brand names because In the end it is my comfort that is important to me. I have learned that when I was entering into my 20’s. So in the last 8 years or so its been all about comfort more than anything else.

I see some teenaged girls, and women wearing ever so high heels, and a lot of them cannot even walk in high heels and yet they still wear it because they think its cool and it makes them look good in it, to show off to friends and others who look at them and I know some of them are in pain wearing them and they still wear it like nothing is happening to them, but they do not know in the long run and in future that it can do damage to the vertebrae, back and legs. I do not know how some people can stay in heels and stand in them, dance in them and they say the love to wear heels. To me I wear very little or no heels at all. I love flats and just a small bit of a heel, but I just cannot handle high heels. The other day I was trying on shoes at a random store, and I said let me try on these big heels for a minute, lets see what the hype about it is, It took me merely 20 seconds and I already started to feel pain. I said how in the heck can people wear these for hours? So painful. I took them off and I felt so relieved. I am in for comfort and that is what should matter.

Even with the clothes and stuff. I don’t care if I buy them from big box stores, or an unknown clothing store or anything if it feels good, and the material is good, then I will buy it, but It doesn’t have to be big brand names. In the end fashion isn’t about impressing others, you shouldn’t have to impress others by proving a point or anything. It is how comfortable you see yourself with wearing whatever you want to wear and it is something that you should feel good about too. People in this world do not even have clothes and shoes to wear. We should be fortunate that we do have what we have and not complain about about not having brand name clothing, and shoes and spending thousands of dollars on clothing that is so ridiculous.

For me Comfort beats Fashion pain, and when I get older I am going to be in pain and people wonder why they are in so much pain when they get older on their legs, feet, back is because when were young we do not realize what we do when were young will affect us later on in life and its happened where I know someone who wore heels a lot and then as she got older, back problems started and leg problems. Now shes going to physiotherapy for the last 2 years. She now cannot stand heels and I do not blame her.

These fashion companies make you want to get more, and want you to always stay in the latest fashions, remember they are there to make money on you and it doesn’t matter how they do it, they do it and they always find a way to persuade the public eye, about certain things, but me I never follow the fashion trends. I do not have to buy everything that comes out, I do not have to go spend so much money where I can spend the money on more important things then having to always stay in the fashion world. No need to flaunt and impress others. Remember comfort, comfort, comfort.

You should not worry about what other people think about what kind of clothes you wear or anything. The important thing is how you see yourself, and how you feel. Yes dressing in a terrible way is not good like ripped jeans, way too baggy pants, and looking like a slob, okay that there no one should wear those when they are out, but other than that its what you feel. Comfort is key and remember your future. Save yourself from pain in the long run and be comfortable. So Fashion comfort conquers and wins!

Natural Beauty is The Way

As I go through life seeing many people wear oodles of make-up on their face, I always say to myself, why they put so much? why they have to cover their face up with all these cosmetics? I believe and know that all women and girls have a natural beauty and they are simply covering up what they really look like. I am not saying do not wear make-up, you are free to make your own decisions as to how much cosmetics you put on your face, but in moderation. The trick to wearing make-up, you have to make it look like you are not wearing any at all.

I believe inner beauty is far more beautiful than our exterior. Make-up should not make a woman/girl believe that they are far more beautiful with that stuff on their faces. Many cosmetic companies starve for women/girls who constantly head to the stores to purchase their merchandise. Beauty comes from within. We are just carrying our exterior, but I am telling all women/girls of the world right now, you are beautiful, you don’t have to try to impress the guy next door, or when you go to a party or somewhere to wear make up to the extent that it does not make you look good at all. It makes it worse to be honest.

I have been to many parties and I notice women and girls look in the mirror in the restroom to maintain themselves, adding more and more make-up. Again, it is totally up to you on what you do to your face, but I would understand if you’re a bride, bridesmaid, or you’re in a modeling agency, or whatever, but then again, make-up should be worn within limits.

As my personal side of the story, I only wear make-up when it is absolutely necessary, I occasionally wear make up to a party or a gathering with my girlfriends, but I rarely wear it on a daily basis. It makes my face feel so heavy and it makes me feel like there are things on my face constantly. The mess of mascara, the mess of the bronzer and foundation powders and everything, just clog up the pores and clog up the face and your face won’t breathe.

Although it is important to maintain your exterior, with having your hair groomed, showered up, clean, nice smelling, and have great hygiene with brushing your teeth, flossing and everything which is very important, but when it comes to Make-up, it really isn’t a necessity, it is something that hides your beauty, being a natural beauty is far more attractive, than having all this gunk on your face, and putting too much make-up on no matter what type of product or name it is, can speed up the aging process.

I know you readers are questioning and thinking that this woman writing this has got to be crazy, that she herself is a woman and women are so revolved around cosmetics, fashion so on and so forth. Personally, I myself enjoy wearing custom jewellery, and matching up my outfits and going out with just lip gloss on my lips or a lip colour that suits my face and colour of my skin, rather than wearing way to much on my face. I already wear corrective lenses, and i occasionally wear contact lenses.

In conclusion, you are beautiful, you are a person of our world, you have been put on this earth, no matter how your face looks, your facial attributes, sizes, shapes, were all different, were all ONE BODY, Were all in the same human race, were all on this earth for a reason. Nature will take its course. BE NATURAL, BE WHO YOU ARE, GOD LOVES YOU Just the way you are, SO LOVE YOURSELF THE WAY YOU ARE. Save that 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 dollar bill that you are going to spend on Make-up and Utilize it for something more worthwhile. So get up, stand up, Smile and look at yourself in the mirror and say these 5 WORDS Every morning you wake up — “I AM A NATURAL BEAUTY” and start your day. Try it, and you will see the difference.

Charming Charlie – Jewelery, Handbags, Fashion

Months ago in October of 2012 when I visited Fresno, California I visited this incredible and beautiful store called Charming Charlie. There was an array of different accessories, custom made jewelery, fashion bags, and so many more things to do with fashion and what is in the modern society. I just fell in love with all the things I saw, but too bad I didn’t make any purchases as I didn’t have much room in my luggage to come back. So I just looked around and browsed. For years now I am a big fan of custom made jewelery and handbags and I have a lot of different colours too. It is like Ardene, Claires, Aldo Accessories, but Charming Charlie adds a lot more spice and flare into the fashion industry for accessories and giving accent and flare to your overall fashion and appearance.

Charming Charlie is very popular in the United States. I wish they can open up a few stores in Canada. I would for sure do my shopping there from now on and the prices are very reasonable, and not expensive at all. Which is something I really look at too when I made purchases. I always look at the fine print, and all the advertizing at the stores, and I get e-mail from them so I look at the deals and keep them all. I like to save money and only get stuff when I need it or when I need it for an outfit I have or when there is an event, but I will write Charming Charlie an e-mail to suggest to open up stores in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Ottawa, and other places that are population condensed.

I really hope they do read my e-mail about it. I think it would be great for them to expand to other countries and especially bordering to the United States of the north. What is your fashion sense? What makes your fashion and what makes you happy about it?
