High Heels and Parties – The Logic of Shoe Removal

In our lives a lot of us if not some, we tend to care so much about how our appearance looks when we go to parties, gatherings and other functions. Well, that is important, but one thing that doesn’t make sense is that some wear really uncomfortable high heels and some are so high that you see people not able to walk, but they will suffer the pain, anguish and discomfort just to make a statement and then take their shoes off almost halfway through the event. People want to look great in them and look taller.

I know high heels look so great, and its something that some value and are so into, however wearing high heels can pose dangers to posture, health of the legs, back and also strains. Especially when women who are pregnant and wear extremely high heels and I have seen it and I just think to myself. That is not right. Comfort should be #1 when When looking for footwear. It is so important to feel comfortable. I mean if you can pull off wearing heels and you are committed to wearing them, by all means go ahead, but in the long run, comfort rules everything else.

Why go to parties and bring extra footwear, and bring extra stuff you do not need, or bringing flip flops and flats to wear when from the beginning if you wear comfortable shoes, you do not have to worry about changing your shoes and you can be carefree all night. I am not telling you not to wear heels. You are free to do and wear whatever, but just looking out for your best interest.

When I get married hopefully someday, I will be wearing flats as a bride and my bridesmaids will also be wearing flats, because we will be up on our feet almost all day and I want my bridesmaids, maid of honor to be as comfortable as possible and enjoy the day and have one less thing to worry about when they say, My feet are killing me, I want to change into flip flops or flats. Do not want any of my girls to be uncomfortable. Who cares about Heels? If some brides are so worried about the shoes to be high, you have to think about the whole day process during the wedding ceremony, taking photos, standing a lot and dancing at the reception party, then also getting dressed and stuff in the beginning of the day. Its so important to be comfortable always and not put unnecessary strain on the body. Especially when you are part of a wedding party and when you are participating in standing up a lot.

This also means for conventions, and businesses as well. Also actresses and filming movies and TV Shows. I do not see anything wrong with wearing flats or small heels.

I myself, cannot wear heels. It has to be completely flat or just a small heel of a couple of centimeters in length, but I cannot believe people can wear 3-4-5-6 inch heels and a lot more higher. It is crazy. My back and my legs hurt by just looking at others walk in them. My feet hurt with just wearing an inch or less sometimes..

When I was a teenager and graduating grade 8 and 12th grade in High school, during my prom, I wore huge heels and at 17-18 years old, I began to feel uncomfortable. I said to myself, why should I suffer in pain and discomfort? I began to wear flats after that age. I just cannot stand wearing heels. Not going to damage my body, my health, my posture for the sake of wearing them.

Do you wear heels? Are you against wearing them? or do you love wearing them? Would love to hear what you have to say as well.

Armenian Heritage Night – Air Canada Centre – An Unforgettable Evening

On Sunday February 23rd, 2014, Almost 1000 Armenians embarked to The Air Canada Centre in Downtown Toronto for an unforgettable and memorable evening to celebrate Armenian Heritage. This was the 2nd Annual event. The doors opened to Air Canada Centre at 5pm, and everyone started going in. At 5:30Pm The Holy Trinity Armenian Church’s, Sassoun Dance Ensemble performed at Centre court of a traditional Armenian Dance for thousands of people who were non-Armenian and for Armenians. A few minutes before the Game started between Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic, A lady came and sang the National Anthems for both USA and Canada. The tip off and game started at 6pm and went well into almost 9pm.

The Armenian Students Association, Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Toronto, Sassoun Dance Ensemble, ARS, and other Armenian Organizations came together to plan this incredible night.  Thank you to everyone who assisted in the planning, and organizing with The Air Canada Centre so that we too Can have a Heritage Night. I was counting the days and hours until I went to the game and to the Armenian Night. It was something I had wanted to go to Last year, but was unable to. I was lucky enough to attend this year.

It was an incredible, memorable night that brought Armenians closer together to a huge Venue to enjoy the Basketball Game, to enjoy seeing Armenian Heritage on the bulletins and the Jumbo Tron at the ACC. The energy of the arena and people were felt, the crowd cheered on, everyone was having a great time, and really enjoyed the whole game from beginning to the end. The Raptors were not doing too well in the beginning, but then stepped up to the game after half time. The 4th Quarter got really exciting. It felt great to see Armenian everywhere, Armenian Flags waving in the audience, Hearing Armenians talking in our Language everywhere. It was pretty cool.

The Toronto Raptors won that night 105-90. If the Raptors Score more than 100 points in a game and win, the crowd at the ACC Gets a Free Pizza slice at Pizza Pizza across Toronto and the GTA locations. For those who printed tickets, had to get their tickets stamped by the officials at ACC, but original tickets did not need to. At the end of the night not only did we celebrate the Raptors win, we got a free pizza, and we Armenians had a blast. I cannot wait until I go to next years Armenian Heritage Night. Thank you Air Canada Centre.

Dance Like No One Is Watching – De stress Your Life

In life some of us tend to lose sight of what is beneficial for us and our well-being and a lot of us are so busy with our daily routine, busy life schedules, balancing work, school, family, friends, activities, travel time, and balancing of just time for yourself. Some of us get distracted and get stressed out and think so much about things and don’t have the energy to do what you want to do sometimes, and life’s challenges get in the way with providing for your family and for yourself and it takes a lot to make ends meet for some and it is a crazy time in life where prices and cost of living is increasing year by year and it has become so difficult and were all going crazy with how to keep up, and among so many things in our lives. I know it’s a challenge and a big battle that a lot of people face on a daily basis.

Now, you are probably wondering why I chose such a title like Dance like No one is watching, This sentiment I am expressing is to always be happy and always be positive with great outlooks on life and I know it is easier said than done to put away life’s daily stresses that prevents us to be happy and positive because I know stress is the biggest culprit of everything in life and it shouldn’t be. Dancing, finding time and joy in your life is very important. No matter how terrible you think the way you dance, you are the one in your life and the way you portray your happiness is the way you feel to express yourself. You don’t owe anybody an explanation as to why your happy as to why you feel that certain way at that time frame. Always know that you are special and the way you dance, the way you express joy should really be about how you feel on the inside and that is something so incredible.

Some people say what if people laugh at me? What if people see how ridiculous I look when I dance and express joy? Just remember to never listen and to never watch them when you are dancing and having a great time. I know some of us are not good at dancing or anything, but it doesn’t matter how you dance, its how you feel its important. Never settle for anyone’s opinions and go for what you want to do. If it makes you happy go for it. De stress your life, be happy, do things that will put a smile on your face, be with others who make you smile and who put light into your life, spend time with yourself, take time to enjoy yourself, take time out of your busy life, and just unwind and take care of yourself. I know that is hard to do when you’re battling with Kids, School, Education, Life, Work, A Relationship, Marriage, Friendships, Activities and other things that mean the world to you, but always try to find time out of it all. I know it takes a balance for everything, but always know that you are who you are in the end and that smile on your face lights up the whole world. Keep smiling, keep on dancing like no one is watching, laugh like no one hears you, and you will see how your life will change.

It all starts with you on how you see your life and it is up to you. All the best to you and wishing you happiness, health, success and everything else.

Since then we have been in touch and hes such a fabulous, talented and incredible person who is so artistic in performing, singing, dancing. His passion and dedication toward the art of music, dancing and the whole entertainment world is so wonderful and beautiful. His voice is so therapeutic, beautiful and brightens the room when you enter. Vahe possesses so much beauty and demonstrates his dedication toward his culture, and in both Ethiopian and Armenian. Below is his biography and what he has to say in his own words from his Facebook page Vahe Music.

In his own words, here is a mini biography about him and his performing history.

http://www.facebook.com/Vahe.music

My interest in music and dance started early on as I was and still am surrounded by a very musical family. At age 3 I used to go listen to my aunt and uncle rehearse with their band (Sevan Band). This was later strengthened by classical piano lessons for almost 7 years and singing in the Armenian Church choir. Later also joined the Motley Singers of Addis Ababa for a few years as lead tenor.
Armenian by origin, Ethiopian by nationality and still living in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. Currently working on an album which I am hoping will be an eclectic mix of these two very unique cultures, tied together under an alternative genre of music.
Currently also working with Z Beyaynetus band, Kenny Allen and the 251 as well as opening the weekly show and singing supporting vocals with Zeritu Kebede.

An artist, an entertainer.
I’m a singer/songwriter, a dancer, a writer trying to make myself heard out there to whoever is interested in hearing, in listening. To whoever is interested in looking and seeing, interpreting and deducing.

Envisioning My Big Break In The Future – Optimism Is Key To Success

In recent months and within this one year that I have been on WordPress writing blogs and committing myself to a world of writing, and outreaching to the general public of the internet and the world, I began to envision my big break for the plans I have in the future. I have big plans for my life in the next few years and it is important to sort it out and taking extra steps to being initiative in everything. I have time and time again brought up being on Talk shows on Television, I have spoke about getting myself out there and publish my posts to perspective newspaper companies around the globe and I know I can offer a lot and put my cards on the table to get to where I want to be in my life and I believe that each and everyone of us have a passion in life and something that we want to achieve and strive to get on up there with our goals and succeed with everything we have and putting our energy into things we want to excel in. With all that said, optimism is the key to success with an enthusiastic approach, the right attitude, and having the will to do everything in my power to succeed in life.

My passion is ultimately writing, and my passion is to make a difference in the world, getting my gigs on these television talk shows such as Ellen DeGeneres whom I have tremendous respect for, who has such a successful television show and someone whom I have grown fond of for several years now. She is someone I can get along with, and her humor, her personality traits, the way she cares so much for people, the way she helps so many people is something out of this world. When her show finishes, there is a production called, “A Very Good Production” and that is exactly what her show is and it says it all in those 4 words. Meeting her and being on her show would make me the happiest woman in the world. She always talks about bully prevention, she always talks about very important issues in our world, and her monologues are excellently done in a tasteful manner which I absolutely adore with all my heart, mind and soul. She incorporates dancing and getting the audience to dance with her with including them, giving 12 days of giveaways during Christmas and other times during the year. I’d love to one day meet her and get to know her one on one. She is such a beautifully spirited person who touches so many lives and she has touched mine in words, I cannot even express. Thank you Ellen DeGeneres for making life so enjoyable for so many of your fans across the world, thank you for being with us for an hour on Television, for making us laugh, for making us realize the importance of living life to the fullest. I wish Ellen the best with good health and may she smile, laugh and dance always.

There is so much I envision for my life and envisioning on positive and happiness for future is something I really enjoy. I have had a lot of time to myself this past week, and I have been having these scenarios in my mind and dreaming about making it big in the world, and getting myself known out there with good intentions, with the intention of making a big difference in the world with important issues and the prevention of problems in society with bullies, and other serious issues in regards to the well-being of people and the way things are handled. I believe that I can do something good for our world, and I am super confident with my willingness to do my best in society, reach out to those in need of a friend, to those who need someone to talk to, and those who feel lonely to make them feel a part of society and welcoming them to a new world of lovely and friendly people who still exist in our world and there are some really nice people in our world. We just have to look past with what happens and move forward with life.

Envisioning is always a good thing, I do it all the time and now more frequently. I believe and know that all of us can do the same with our lives. Live life the way it is intended and envision everyday. All the best and I wish you nothing but the best.

Great Success, My Weight Loss is Progressing Well

There are a few things in my life which I am looking forward to this year and getting into shape is one of them. I am on my way to a new body, a new me, and a new outlook on the new life I will have when I want to get to the weight I want to be. Today, I was exercising on the treadmill and it was one of the most painful days ever in terms of the lower leg calve muscles which were burning so much and that burn pain made me go crazy on the treadmill, tears were rolling down my cheeks of how excruciating it was and it almost hit my heart. I was not going very fast either. I was just doing a brisk walk and boy did it really hurt, but that burn pain will go away soon and I will begin to walk on the treadmill without the pain and I will see the weight coming off even more.

I am going into my third week into my exercise and my family and friends that have seen me have noticed that my body has changed slightly but It is going well and drinking a lot of water I find is making my body more hydrated, my skin, my face, my hair feels more hydrated and vibrant. I am eating very small portions, and I am not eating late. I feel a burst of energy and I feel so great after the exercise I am doing. It hurts like H E double L, but I am not going to let that be a setback and I will not slack off. As I am on the treadmill I have my TV in front of me, I put music on in my Ipod, or play with my blackberry playbook and watch Youtube Video’s while I exercise.

After I lose about 30 pounds or so, I will be taking up Yoga. I decided to today. I am going to sign up for classes and improve my breathing when stretching and share my experiences with other people in the class with me. After my exercising improves and when I lose a lot more, I am going to join a gym as well for ladies and make friends with others who are trying to get fit like me and share our eating habits, what each person does to make lifestyle changes, the type of foods consumed. I am super excited for all of this. I can join it now, but I want to start out on my own and search the internet, and then work my way up to join the public.

I am patient and I am not going to overdo it to prevent myself from discouragement and I will not give up even when I am in the most terrible lower leg calve muscle pain ever. No pain No Gain.

I can do this!

I Have The Will Power & Motivation to Get Fit!

In My life this constant struggle of mine to get fit and lose my weight has really been a difficult process. I have always began to exercise for a period of 3 weeks to 3 months and then after that I stop. the first 2-3 months my legs would hurt from the excruciating burn pain behind my calves in my lower legs. It was the worst pain I had ever encountered. I mean I could walk no problem and I have no bone pains or pains in the joints or anything of that sort, but whats stopping me from continuing is the burn pain and I would cry because of it. I know that when that happens its working and my body is getting fit and getting rid of all that pain, but sometimes its so bad that I just quit. I know that is the wrong approach to deal with it as it makes it worse for next time, but this time I am so determined to do so to do it for myself and to do it for my own health and wellness. I have so many travels coming up this year and I want to be able to walk for hours, enjoy without getting tired, getting fit and just not worrying about a place to sit when I can enjoy my travels a lot more.

Since this past Tuesday, I started my exercise, and I started walking outside for an hour or 2 just walking and when the weather is bad I use my treadmill, so on the treadmill for the first 2 weeks I will do 20 minutes, then every week I will add 5 minutes more until I get up to 45 Minutes. I do not want to over tire myself in the beginning and just take my time doing so. The treadmill is such a great workout tool as it helps your whole body to get fit, not just one particular part of the body. I also have a bicycle that I can ride around my area and just go for half an hour. that is not until I get used to my walking and lose about 20-30 pounds in the beginning. My ideal weight that I want to be around is 135 to 140. I do not want to be too too slim either. Just right. After my body gets used to it, I will be signing up for Yoga as soon as my breathing and my workouts get easier and I get more flexible. I will try it with the treadmill then work my way up to all the other fancy stuff as now my body cannot take it.

This time I have the motivation and will power and I will not stop to get myself fit and be on my way to a new me, new wardrobe where I can fit in nice and beautiful dresses, where I can wear bikini’s, where I can be free and walk without getting tired fast, enjoy my new body and my new life, and feel great, more positive. When I look for work or when I get ahead in all this, the employer will see how well I take care of myself and that is another reason why. The employer will see how well you take care of yourself and that gives them a sense of security to think that when she can take care of her body and herself, that means she can take care of my company that I will hire her in. I thought of that of the reason why they might hire me or not hire me. I don’t know thats what my thoughts were on it. I will not give up and I will not be lazy and stop after 2-3 months. I will do my best everyday and not miss a day. I promise you my blog readers, my family, my friends, and everyone who has always advised me to get slim and get healthy. I know I am not doing this for everyone else, I am doing this for myself, but I will make this promise and I will not break it. As proof I will be taking photos of myself of the progress I have made and I will be posting in my blog on my journey to getting fit and I will be posting it on a bi-weekly basis or once a month. You will see the new me and you will see how incredible I will feel.

I will feel much better about myself and I will feel like I am in control which I will be. I know it will be a tough road ahead with watching what I eat and exercising and it is hard work and it takes a lot of patience, but I am up for the challenge and I am up for everything that is involved. Scouts honour to everyone. Here is to a road to success. 🙂
