Oh My LA (Los Angeles) In Poetry

By: Talin Orfali

As I left for the West Coast,
Checking into LAX,
Traveling to a Place I love most,
The City of Angels is what it is called,
I couldn’t believe it,
When I saw it for the first time, I balled,

Went by Rodeo Drive,
ended up on the 405,
with all the traffic we went through,
we had enough time to admire the view,

going through the hills and the valleys,
then hitting the occasional alleys,
Hollywood sign is ever so lovely,
that I felt ever so bubbly,

Pasadena, Glendale, Encino,
Culver City, Carson, Arcadia,
Burbank, Santa Ana, Santa Clarita,
Redondo Beach, Santa Monica,
Malibu, West Covina, San Fernando,
Calabasas, Bel-Air, Beverly Hills,
La Crescenta, Montebello,
Northridge, Van Nuys, Little Armenia, and more,
There is never really any time to bore,

Heading to the Walk of Fame,
Admiring all the stars name,
Checking out the Chinese Theatre,
heading to sunset, vine and the famous bowl,
so we decided to take a nightly stroll,

Looking at the capitol records that is round,
after looking for it, I was happy that it was finally found,

Checking out the pacific ocean,
looking at the water with all the motion,
seeing the view heading up to the Griffith Observatory,
sitting down and thinking about writing a story,

Celebrities, Entertainment, Film, Talk shows, Music Galore,
The city of Los Angeles is oh so much more,
Oh lovely LA you are so beautiful,
Seeing all the people that are so youthful,

The Oscars, golden globes, the Emmy’s,
people’s choice, screen actors guild awards,
celebrities, directors, writers & editors who were working towards,

Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Dodgers, Angels, Sparks,
Galaxy, Rams, Ducks plus more Representing sports,
You see all the TV Stations conducting reports,

Oh my lovely Los Angeles I love you,
I can’t believe I saw you and my dream came true.
