Not a Big Fan of Microwaves and the Recipes with it.

In my life, one of the many joys I have is cooking with pots, pans, wok’s, Pyrex and all those cookware products, and making things from scratch on a stove top or putting it right into the oven or toaster oven. I prepare food in healthy and great ways to ensure that my loved ones get the proper nutrition and everything. One thing that I am not a big fan of is Microwave recipes and things to heat up in there. I seldom heat up a hot beverage or something along the lines of that during the winter months, but other than that, I resort to other cooking methods as stated above.

I used to buy microwave popcorn a lot many years ago, but then I heard the harmful chemicals and ingredients used in the bag and the popcorn itself got my stomach churning and thinking, Oh my goodness I used to eat that and all those chemicals went into my body? After that, I refrained from purchasing them, and I invested into a popcorn making machine and now I make popping corn from scratch.

I know some people have no choice in using it because they either have to heat up food that you take to at your work’s cafeteria/lunch room, or when there is a child or children in you’re household to heat up their food instantly and feeding them, or when you have guests over or whatever the case maybe. It is okay, no problem.

The ample amounts of stories and articles I have read about microwaves make me think twice even three times when it comes time to use it. I have heard the radiation that gets onto the food or the unhealthy rays that come from it and then to consume it. I can really do without that appliance. Nothing beats a real home-cooked meal without having to use recipes of microwave use.

Do you use microwaves?
Or would you rather use natural pot/pan cooking and heating methods?
What do you feel about them?

The 100th Armenian Genocide Commemoration – 2015

The 100th Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide is just 6 and a half Months away. Annually on April 24, we gather together in Canada’s Capital Ottawa in the Province of Ontario and we commemorate the Armenian Genocide. The Turkish Ottoman empire and Government is responsible for murdering and massacre of 1.5 Million Armenian’s in 1915 as well as stealing our precious and beautiful land as well as Mount Ararat which will always be Armenia’s.

The Turkish Government to this very day still denies that they ever did commit a Genocide, which is why we need to spread the word as much as possible. 2015 will be the 100th Commemoration. Where ever you are and will be, however you will commemorate, it is important to come together with other Armenian’s and venture out in the public eye, and in public places to voice ourselves and make this a global recognition. Our efforts need to be taken out of our Armenian communities and churches and solely head to Embassies, Consulates, organize public marches in the metropolitan areas of your city where it is densely populated with visible signs, banners, and our Armenia Flag.

Canada Has recognized the Armenian Genocide and we thank Canada so much as other Countries as well who have recognized. It is only a matter of time until the world comes together to raise awareness and recognition, on not only the Armenian genocide, but all other genocides and terrible acts of humanity throughout the world.
We need to spread the word out to everyone. In Canada, we will be heading to Ottawa, Canada in front of the Canadian Parliament, followed by a march to the Turkish Embassy. April 24, 2015. Usually we begin at 12 noon until everyone arrives in Ottawa from buses from Ontario and Quebec from Cambridge, Toronto, Montreal, Laval, and abroad. For up to date information, bus departure times and other questions, please see your Local Canadian Armenian Community Centre Organization to obtain more information.
Also the information will be posted here as well once we get more news soon. In the meantime it is important to spread awareness as much as possible. Social Media is a huge way to raise awareness. If you have any ideas or suggestions for the 100th Centennial in Ottawa, please contact me. Also if you want to do your own research about the Armenian Genocide and what happened, You can Google, or search on Facebook, Twitter or wherever in social media.

Don’t Try & Grow Up Too Fast. Take Each Phase Of Your Life As It Comes

Hello, I am sure this has been an issue in almost every household on how children want to grow up too fast and where they go to their moms or dads room to try on big shoes, put on make up, and try on mommy and daddy clothes. I myself have done that. Took my moms shoes, wore them, put on her dresses, put on the make up and then do a fashion show like on a catwalk runway. Then my mom put me to the side and said, Talin don’t try to grow up too fast and put make up on too early. She said everything has its time and you will get here soon enough. I sometimes could not wait to grow up so I can get into places over the age of 18, 19, 21 and start buying lotto tickets, but I have only bought one lotto ticket in my life and that was when I turned 18 years of age from what I was hearing when I was a kid being in adult conversations when company was over, or when we went to other people’s houses, I couldn’t help but hear adult conversations going on, so it intrigued me and that is where I learned these things, but I just continued to being a kid and playing with barbies and other toys.

I started going into Casinos at age 19 in Ontario and in Quebec. As well as Niagara, Falls New York. My curiosity sparked and I wanted to experience it, Not for the sole purpose of gambling, but to get into the casino and just walk around and see the different slot machines and table games. I am not much a gambler and a casino goer but I like to go there to walk around, relax and have a soft drink, water, coffee to relax and to be in the ambiance of colour, noise from the machines. Its pretty awesome, but the moral of the story is, to live every phase as it comes and to live every age the same way. When we are kids we want to grow up so fast and then when we become adults, I am sure almost all of us have said, I wish I was a kid again, I wish I was home playing, I wish I went back to elementary grade school, I wish I was a kid again to not worry about life and everything. Unfortunately we can’t turn back the clock and rewind to where we want to go in the past, but it is important to move forward in your life and take each time you have as it comes. When you feel young at heart, when you feel healthy and content, that is the best lottery you can ever win, and that is the best casino you can be in terms of health, body and soul.

Some people never get another chance at tomorrow, and tomorrow for some will never come. You live once, enjoy each year and make the most of your life. Life is precious and is given to you. You are the chosen one and your put on earth for a reason and you have to be the one to discover it. Life is a beautiful thing and it can be awesome, you have to make it awesome and you have to make life, not waste it away. turning 28 years old a month ago made me realize that wow I only have 2 more years of my 20’s and then I will be saying hello to my 30’s. Hopefully. Which is why you live for today, you live for tomorrow, and surviving in between is what we try to do, but always know, that when you want to grow up too fast, you miss a lot of your years. take it all in step by step, day by day. Growing up is becoming mature, and being mature is what makes you grow up. There is a big kid in all of us, but maturity is key. Life is what you make of it.
