In this day in age, social media has been a huge part of today’s society where almost everyone in the world is engaged into it in some way, shape or form which is one of the reasons why Searching movie was created to cater to the reality of today.

The whole film is based on laptop and phone screens.

The Searching movie opens with a video/photo montage showing the life of a Korean-American family also known as the Kim’s, David Kim (John Cho), his wife Pam (Sara Sohn), and their young daughter Margot. Margot was excited and took up an interest in taking piano lessons from a young age. Pam was later unfortunately diagnosed with lymphoma. Pam went into remission, but then she unfortunately had a relapse which devastated the Kim family. David and Margot stood by her side and bedside until she passed away.

This movie is an eye-opener of what can happen if we are not careful with whom we associate with on social media. A father David Kim (John Cho) is worried sick about his 16 year old daughter Margot (Michelle La) who goes missing after telling her dad she is going to a study group, so he takes matters into his own hands to search for her and he will not stop. Her father knows she is always on her laptop to communicate, then he doesn’t hear from her and frantically searches her accounts and the plot thickens as he keeps digging.

In case you have not seen this film yet, I do not want to give away a lot about the plot and definitely do not want to spoil the ending. It is a must see film which will definitely be something to really think about. So to summarize my point, I spoke just a little bit about it, but you are in for a great film. It is 102 minutes long and each minute of it is incredibly awesome.

Social Media is such a powerful tool in our society. Searching movie is something that really is the definition of that and how careful we should be. This is a perfect film to see with family and especially young teenagers to 20’s also for everyone and those who are so engaged into technology, phones, apps and everything today. This film is a true definition of perfection and I enjoyed it thoroughly that I went to go see it a second time.

We need film like this to spread awareness on serious issues we face today, the pros and cons of interaction in the online world. It is one of the main ways now to communicate, transmit information instantly without waiting days and months like writing traditional hand-written letters to people where now with social media and the internet, we just send it out and in seconds it gets sent to other people and it can be seen right away. There are always pros and cons to everything and social media and technology consists of both.

It is important to recognize great film and content. This is the type of film we need to see and keep making.

I am a social media marketing specialist and this film is something so relative to me. Searching movie is something truly out of this world and I give it a two-thumbs up. Thank you to the great minds and talents of the creators of this film and to those who worked so hard day in and day out compiling everything.

It really isn’t easy writing, creating and directing. So much thought process, brain-storming, ideas and ways to give out a message is absolutely difficult. Wishing the directors, writers, film creators all the best in their future.

My Experience in Women’s Breast Health – In Younger Women

This year of 2013, I went through a terrifying ordeal a few months back, and it was about my breast health. In March of 2013 I did a self-breast test and I felt a lumpy feeling, I thought okay, women get this sort of thing when their menstrual cycle comes around, but mine came and went and the lump was still there, so in April, I had a full medical examination from my doctor and I asked him to send me to have an ultrasound done, and so I went there and then they said that I need a surgical biopsy done of my left breast, and so the results came back a few days later stating that I do have a Benign Phyllodes Tumor which is Fibroadenoma, which happens to women who are 15-35 years of age and if left untreated, it can get bigger and harder to remove, so mine was caught in time because I saved myself the hassle in the long run. I did a self-test after I showered. It was something that I was really frightened about. I could not believe that this was happening at my age and I just jumped and had to get this problem corrected and for my future. I said at 28? How can this be?

I have always read that women need to do self tests. So at the end of June, 2013, I had my day surgery to remove the Benign Phyllodes Tumor and apparently it was about 8cm’s in length, then I had my final Day surgery Last month in September, 2013 to remove just a little bit of the tissue around so that it will never come back again. I did not stay overnight in hospital. I was in and out in a few hours. They put me to sleep, checked my blood pressure and everything else before I left to go home from hospital. I asked the doctor if I am at a higher risk in future in developing breast cancer, she said no. She said benign Phyllodes tumor happens and if it is properly surgically removed, there will be no risk. I am so relieved. It was the scariest thing I had ever gone through in my life. I automatically thought that I had the malignant kind and I lost weeks of sleep due to being so worried about the lump I found, but I thought too much and the results came back in my favour and it was a huge blessing. I felt at ease and I can sleep better at nights knowing that this is all over and I had my surgeries and I can go on with my life. in about a couple of weeks I will be visiting my doctor to discuss about my surgery and what happened.

I never really told a lot of my family members or friends about my situation, but I decided to write about it and share with everyone because this is something that cannot be kept secret, because I can be saving someone elses life and I can be preventing a serious health issue to others and give them this advice to go get assessed from your medical professional. Taking preventative measures is crucial.

Spreading and raising awareness on breast health is imperative and It is so important to get checked out, no matter how old you are. It does not matter if you are young or old. Things happen at all ages. It can save your life. Early detection can save you big time. Monthly do a self test, look at your breasts in the mirror before or after you take your shower, if you feel like the shape, colour, and the feeling of your breast is not right, have it checked out right away, if you feel extra sensitive after your periods and warmth or prickling like an orange peal, or nipple discharge or unusual pain again have it checked out. It could be other health problems too that need to be addressed and dealt with accordingly not necessarily in relative to your breasts. It can develop in 1 or both of your breasts and either left or right.

Health is the most important thing above anything else. without it, we have nothing. Health is wealth.

Be aware always because I care about everyone and their best interest. I wish you all the best . My thoughts and prayers to women who are going through the tough one right now.

Growing Out My Hair To Donate To Cancer Patients

In the last few years, I have learned about people growing their hair, and a lot of people have donated hair to causes such as the terrible disease called cancer and this year I decided to Grow out my hair and make it long to donate to those who are living with cancer. I want to make a difference in one persons life to have hair, as unfortunately cancer therapy takes away hair from patients. My hair grows quite quickly per month and this is something I want to do for society, to make a difference, to reach out to others who need something. Cancer is such a terrible disease, and my thoughts and prayers for those living with it, and I wish you all a speedy recovery and to get back to life and win the battle with this terrible disease, and my condolences to those who have lost people in their lives with this disease or any other one. It is not easy. I’ve lost a few people to cancer in my family, and some family friends and its something that I want to help people with, and donating my hair for Cancer is something I can give to someone who lost hair. I really feel the need to do this for someone. Like I said, its something very personal to me and even if it wasn’t so personal, I will help people no matter what.

I hope cancer cures can be found soon and people can be cured and go on with life, to grow back hair, to grow back into life, to do everything. So I made the decision and I will be helping people out. That is a goal of mine.
