The World Is A Beautiful Place, We Need It

The World is Beautiful place to be and to live, and, of course we need it to go on about our day to day life  however, Some people take a lot of things for granted, some people take advantage of others, who are never grateful for those around them or the things they have, some people are so materialistic.

Some people have learned to hate, do and think negative things in life, greediness, selfishness, and who are surrounded by negativity, hate, killing, disrespect and lack of love, dignity and who have pessimistic attitudes. We need to change that, and we need to change that now.

We need to pray,
We need God,
We need people,
We need health,
We need togetherness,
We need more kindness,
We need more love,
We need more respect,
We need more inspiration,
We need more attention to goodness,
We need to accept each other,
We need to stop racism,
We need to be selfless,
We need to feel and be appreciated,
We need to be thankful,
We need to be thoughtful,
We need to spread more good news and good cheer,
We need to support each other,
We need to help each other,
We need to be around positivity,
We need to stand up for one another,
We need to be honest,
We need to be reliable,
We need to smile,
We need to be optimistic,
We need to follow the right path,
We need motivation,
We need fun times,
We need to enjoy.

We are blessed with many people and things in our lives, we just need to recognize, acknowledge and be well aware of that.

We are all special, beautiful and great in our own ways, we are also unique. We should always count our blessings and be who we are in the process.

What are you doing to better your world and everybody and everything around you?

A Day In The Life in Cuba – The Reality

In life, one of the most incredible experiences is travel. I believe that when you travel to see the world, different lifestyles, realities, different people, places is something that is such a great thing. You become more aware, educated, informed and get in touch with your personal self to get a better understanding than what you hear in the media and pictures, also to change your perspective on things of the way your life is and in your own backyard to appreciate, count our blessings, and to be grateful for everything you have in life where others are less fortunate and do not have much. For example, in Cuba.

I have traveled to Cuba 13 times in my lifetime. I have traveled almost all over the island and have seen cities, and towns along the way. I have spent time with the locals, and met families, and have seen the way people live their day to day lives with the bare minimum. Some people make about $12.00 – $30.00 a month. Maximum 35 if they are lucky. Most people work in the resorts and touristic parts, some who are teachers, doctors, room makers, cleaners, bartenders and more.

A lot of people nowadays are so picky about what they want to eat, some people have a fridge full of food, pantries full, stomachs full, and they still are trying to figure out what to make. I admit, I am one of them, but It is really an eye-opener when you see the world. Not only in pictures, but when you see it with your own eyes. That is a whole new ball game. Well, some people in this world unfortunately do not have that option. Cuban people get a certain amount of food per month or every 2 weeks and that they need to space out how much food to eat during the day, some have to struggle to make their own food.

As I was going through towns from Cayo Santa Maria, back to Santa Clara where the airport is to come back home, I saw some of the most saddest things I had ever seen, there are run down buildings that look like they will collapse any minute, people walking around the streets with heavy bags, people cutting grass with machetes or some sort of cutter, some people going somewhere with horses, busted up cars, and it just made me tear up and think to myself, how can people live like this day in and day out? I teared up and so did the person who was sitting next to me and I overheard 2 ladies behind me saying that, we shouldn’t complain anymore and be choosy about everything we have. This really opened up my eyes one of the ladies said, and the friend of hers or whoever it was said, yes that’s true, you are right.

I have been through towns and cities in Cuba, and some of the conditions of the homes the Cuban people live are terribly sad. It breaks my heart. They don’t have proper windows, the roofs of some of the houses are coming apart, a lot of the houses are the size of a 14 to 17 foot place and some of the houses are even smaller than that. Can you imagine a family of 5 living there? Well, I met this family of 5 and they live in such a small house and they have to go outside of the home to use the toilet and to shower they have buckets inside the house and there is running water outside, so they have to go out to get running water then come back to wash up inside where there is just a drain.

In Cienfuegos, Cuba when I went. I had met an entertainer and then he invited my family and I over to his house, so the next day we took the taxi over to his place. We met his family and I remember how hospitable they were with us and so friendly. So, we took them a few items we do not need anymore and they were so happy. So the mother of the entertainer made us a whole table full of food, and started preparing the day before when the entertainer told them we are coming over. The dinner we had was so delicious and it was probably their months worth of food for us for that night. It was done without our knowledge or else we would have refused and if we did, they would get offended, so we ended up eating all of it as we were hungry. They then served us coffee and then we went back to the hotel.

They were so incredibly friendly and we got to see how they lived the whole day. They struggle so much with the deplorable conditions they live in. Some places though are really nice. It depends on the monthly salary as well. Again, I came to my resort and I just thank my lucky stars. I showed a few Cubans my pictures from my Camera, and they have never even seen an airplane in their lives, they have never even seen a camera, let alone the type of clothing I was wearing. It absolutely broke my heart to pieces.

I will continue to visit Cuba. I really like the people there and they are so friendly, witty and energetic, but for some people you can see the sadness and depression in their faces and you can tell some of them don’t have much, and some show they are happy, but they are not. The desperation can be seen. They love it when you give them shoes, clothing and anything else. For these people I will donate and give them the shirt off my back. Put yourself in their shoes and see what its like, but some people don’t realize.

I see them working so hard at the resorts, non-stop and they have to travel long ways to make a Buck which is a Peso there. There are people who come to these resorts who travel there, and I see how rude the guests can be to them and waste so much food on their plates, demand things from them. I mean at the end of the day, they are human beings just like us and deserve to be treated with respect and to have patience. Those Cubans see it and they said, I wish I had this much food at my home and I can see the frustration and sadness in their eyes. I am very observant when I travel. Some of these tourists don’t realize that, however I do and I am compassionate and patient with them. I put myself in their shoes and I go from there.

Moral of the story is that you should always be thankful for what you have. You never know what someone else is going through and people in this world do not have anything, so we must stop begging for more, being desperate for buying the next newest and latest smartphones, or super expensive things that really suit no purpose in life. Some people are so spoiled to the fullest extent. It is unbelievable. We should always count our lucky stars because people in this world aren’t so lucky.

Have you been to Cuba or anywhere else and have seen the way people live?

Do you travel to other destinations to see other peoples reality and what it is like?

Would love to hear from you.

2015 is here! Welcome!

Hello everyone, now that 2014 is behind us, hope everyone had a pleasant, fun and great night when ringing in 2015. Here are to new beginnings this year. I can’t believe it is the second day already. Time is already flying by. before you know it, we will be putting up our Christmas/Holiday decorations once again. I remember the days when I always wanted to go out for new years and celebrate outdoors or at a banquet hall full of people, but nowadays, I just want to spend a quiet, fun and relaxing time at home with my loved ones with good food, snacks, a few drinks, and unwinding during the holidays is all that is important. I know its fun to get dressed up and to go to parties and everything, but I just don’t feel it anymore. I’d rather be at home all cozy and warm and just relaxing.

I don’t know if you feel the same way as well. To me, new years is just another day with another year added. We should be grateful for the days we have, for the years we are on the planet, and we should be grateful for all the blessings and everything we have. That is the most important thing that people really should focus on. Some people are so into vanity, materialism, and all that stuff, however the true meaning of the holidays and as well as everyday is to count our blessings and be thankful. There are so many unfortunate things happening in our world today, and we should always look at the bigger picture as things can be worse.

Always think positive, look at life in an optimistic way, be happy, live your life. Health, happiness, and positivity is the most important things in life. everything else is secondary. As 2015 is now here, I wish everyone a blessed year ahead and beyond. Lets create more memories, good times, motivate each other, encourage each other, have each others back, and share our stories with one another.

Many blessings and good times to everyone. Best wishes to all!

Cheers to 2015!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year – Love Talin Orfali

It is that time of year again. I cannot believe how quickly 2013 flew by. Just yesterday we were celebrating Christmas and New Years for 2012/2013, and now as 2013 is coming to a close, were doing it all over again with putting up the lights, the decorations, finding that perfect tree, or putting up a tree that has been in storage. I love Christmas time when everywhere is decorated with beautiful colours, beautiful Christmas lights on homes, wrapped presents, ornaments, tinsel, snow globes, candles, manger, stables, the nativity scene, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, the Elves, Snowman, Mistletoe, Cookies and Milk, candy canes, the food, the celebrations, and of course and especially celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ with Mary and Joseph and the Three Wise Men and how Mary was chosen to give Birth to a King.

What are your Christmas traditions in your family? What exciting things do you do? Some families put on Christmas Sweaters, some families play games, and so on and so forth. What do you like to cook and serve to your loved ones? Christmas for me every year is always different, either we have a lot of people come over, some Christmases are spent going to other peoples homes, or going out to a party, so I cannot really say what is tradition with my loved ones, but every year is always different, but we do manage to always find a way to get together. When we do, we love cooking turkey, ham, rice, vegetables, gravy, and other things. I love baking my signature cinnamon cake which people I know love it, so they want more and more of it. It has been such a long time I have not decorated a Gingerbread house, but I think I will do that this year.

I love watching Christmas movies at this time of year like Miracle on 34th street, Home Alone 1 and 2, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, Jack Frost, Four Christmases, Santa Clause, Santa Clause 2, I also love watching the Santa Claus Parade on television. I must have watched Home Alone 1 and 2 8 or 9 times this year alone on TV and I just love that movie especially. There is something about Home Alone 1 and 2, that make you get pulled into it and its so hard to flip the channel. After that Home alone 3-5 was all downhill and I did not enjoy them as much because when you change Characters, when you change the setting, it won’t be the same as the first 2. I know Home Alone 1 and 2 by heart, and if you put the movie on mute, I can say the whole script.

Anyway, lastly, I also want to acknowledge those people who are not so lucky during the Christmas and New Year Holidays, that are alone, but not really alone because there are people in this world that are thinking of them and one of them is me, people who do not have a warm home to go to, those who are less fortunate, those who cannot afford or who do not have enough to provide for their families and I’d like to reach out to all of those people around the world and tell them that I am thinking of them and they are in my heart, mind and soul and my thoughts and prayers are with them all and I wish them the best for 2014 and I hope that they too can have a nice and lovely Christmas. I want them to know that they are not alone and that I am with them all. The presents and Materialism shouldn’t matter, but all that matters is togetherness and creating memories.  I wish everyone peace, harmony, happiness, health, success, and all the great things of life. I wish everyone a prosperous, great, and lovely new year. Many blessings to all and wishing everyone all the best. With love always, Talin Orfali

Some People Come In Your Life As A Blessing, Some Come As Lessons

Due to popular demand, I am posting this again….

There are so many things that are important in life to know and understand all types of people, knowing how to read people, knowing how to differentiate between being with the wrong people and the right people. It is super important to surround yourself always with different types of people and get to know their mind set and to know their personality, traits, attitudes, actions, their trail of thought about things. Its so imperative to know this. Some people come into your life as blessings because they are the right type of people to be with who are true to you, who would never lie to you, who would never betray you and your trust, someone who will always be your backbone, someone who will be part of your life and stay their with no strings attached. Some people come into your life as lessons. Sometimes friendships, relationships, do not pan out to be the way you would have expected to, and that is a learning experience on seeing people’s true colors to come out and see how a personality, attitude and character come into place with time. With time you will get to know people, and some people have the gift to read people instantly and know what they are all about with certain keywords, eye, facial movements, and body language.

Physical movements and the eyes tell a lot about a person and some have the ability to look at people in the eye and see things others cannot see. We all need to be educated on how to read people and how to be good judges of character. It will help you in the long run in future friendships, relationships, and everything else. It is very important to be careful who your trust and give your whole heart, mind and soul to. We can easily be fooled by people who have the ability to say things that we want to hear and try to convince us and persuade us to change our minds and mindsets, but that is something that is very tricky. Learning valuable lessons in life is important. It helps us grow, it helps us prepare ourselves for endless possibilities, and new things in life we have yet to experience. There are all types of people in this world, there are so many personality traits, so many things that are into the factor. The more were educated, the more were capable of handling people, handling vulnerable stages in ones life. We need to learn to not trust easily and we need to learn to not give in 100% unless your 100% certain and sure about what you do in life. Sometimes life can throw hard balls, but we need to be strong and we need to close a chapter in our life and start another.

Life is too short. Things happen for a reason, everything in life that happens are for a valid reason, people come in and out of your life and that is another reason. Were all on our own separate journey’s in life and most importantly who we take with us on that journey and who we associate with. Be happy, positive, confident, optimistic in life. If things are rocky, unstable and miserable for you now, always remember that everything works out in the end. God is always there to protect us and to watch over us. Learning valuable lessons in life and acting on it is something that will benefit you in future. Although sometimes people do not think it will, when you least expect it, something great will come out of everything with patience, perseverance, and determination. When we expect it, and when we keep doing that, it sometimes will take longer and it will not be the result you were looking for. don’t have too many expectations, don’t jinx yourself, don’t over exert yourself with things. Let the right people come naturally. Eventually God will place you with the right crowd, and things will make sense.

I know that sometimes things do not make sense at all with how life is and how people are altogether, we need to focus on the blessings in our lives and then deal with our lessons. Make the impossible, possible, with no regrets, no turning back and just do what is best for you and do what you can to pursue your own happiness and your own dreams and wishes. It will come true. Where there is a will, there is a way for everything. Try it out, you will see the difference in no time. Do not worry, be happy and get on track with life.
