I love Shopping at Dollarama – Great Store, Great Products

A few years ago, I was driving and as I was overlooking the streets of Toronto, Canada, I discovered Dollarama, so my curiousness came to the better of me, and plus after hearing a lot about it, I decided to go into the parking lot to park my car, to stop in to see what the hype is all about. I went inside the store and I began going through the aisles to see all the items on the shelves. So I ended up spending some money on really great products. I cannot remember exactly what I had bought, but it was pretty useful afterwards.

Dollarama is an incredible store. I can spend a couple of hours in there, Maybe more. I buy some things to organize things, I buy toiletries, gum, chocolate, and other merchandise. Everything goes from $1 to $3 – Things that are not marked are a $1.

You can purchase Betty Crocker products, house-hold cleaning products, sponges, hangers for your closet, garment bags, storage boxes, Kitchen stuff, dishware, table clothes, towels, seasonal products, food, snacks, drinks, outdoor stuff, candles, beauty and care products, hair products, toys, travel size bottles, great brands, gift bags, greeting cards, hardware, pet stuff, wires, cell phone and tablet cases, cosmetic bags, socks, hats, slippers, crafts, arts, pens, pencils, kids toys, office products, invitation cards, disposable cups, plates, napkins, notebooks and so much more.

I have so much more fun browsing and looking around dollar shops more than those department stores and places that sell those products for a lot more. There are products at Dollarama from 1-3 dollars, that sells it from 10 to 15 dollars in other places and more. I am quite addicted to Dollarama. Sometimes I buy things when I do not even need it at that moment, but then it does come useful in the long run, which I am glad about.

Do you shop at a dollar store? Do you prefer dollar shops over any other retail stores? What do you find to be convenient at dollar shops? Would love to hear your opinion and what you have to say about it.

Canada’s 10 Provinces has several Dollarama Stores.

*(credit to Armoir)The history of leather work in Armenia is known exclusively through bindings of manuscripts. The practice of protecting a manuscript with boards covered with leather goes back to the very invention of the codex in the first Christian centuries. Before that books were in the form of scrolls or continuous rolls of papyrus. The earliest preserved Armenian leather bindings are from the eleventh century; the earliest binder’s colophons are from the tenth-eleventh centuries. In this period bookbinding had become a specialized and highly developed art in medieval Armenia. Elaborately decorated bindings followed the artistic fashion of the time, for instance borrowing designs used for the ornamentation of memorial cross stones or khach’k’ars. A large variety of geometric forms was used, and later, floral as well as the traditional braided bands were employed. Also typically, Armenian was the affixing of metal studs, often silver, to outline a design. As in all other areas of Armenian art, leather bindings differ from region to region and century to century, but they share the characteristics mentioned above and thereby belong to a single recognizable family.*

My Favourite Movies Of All Time

Yesterday on Television, on TV Tropolis, they were showing some older films and I watched Airplane and Airplane 2: The sequel, and I really love those kinds of movies with that humour. most of the actors in the movie passed away in recent years. It is still hard to believe that Leslie Neilson passed away. Anyway, I know the movie so well, that I knew exactly what they are going to say or the next scene. It was so funny and I still laugh every time. Some movies you watch and watch again and still laugh like it is your first time watching it. Some movies you just watch once or twice, but the rest you can watch several times. i just don’t like the commercials when I watch the movies. I know there is a way to delete the commercials while watching a movie, but I don’t have that feature like TiVo or something. Anyway, Here are my movie choices of all time.

The Ugly Truth, Home Alone, Home Alone 2 Lost in New York, National Lampoons Vegas Vacation, Christmas Vacation, European Vacation, Airplane, Airplane 2, Weekend At Bernie’s, Dennis the menace, Father of the Bride, Mrs Doubtfire, Forrest Gump, My Girl, Naked Gun movies, Hot shots, hot shots part deux, Babies day out, Hangover, Hangover 2, Campaign, Vince Vaughn movies, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Bradley Cooper, Alex O’loughlin, and so many other actors movies and so many other movies. I am such a big movie fan, I love comedy, romantic comedy, I like the notebook, dear john, and I like to get new movies all the time, and go to the theater once in a while. It depends if it’s a really good movie. or else I just wait for the DVD or Blue Ray to come out to the stores?

What are your movie choices? What do you like to watch? What are your interests when it comes to entertainment? Soon in the coming weeks I will be doing critics on movies and what they mean to me and I will be giving my insight on them. I will be doing that soon. Stay tuned! Have a lovely day!

Went Through My Childhood Diary – Did You Have One?

Since I was a child, I bought a diary to write my most private thoughts, used it to draw pictures of hearts, sun, stick figurines, and more. I just came across my diary this morning. I haven’t opened it up in more than 13 years. I cannot believe the things I had written and done in there. I forgot some of the things too, but It totally refreshed my memory. I remember I made a goal to write into it about my daily life, but I didn’t get to do it. I remember how I used it to draw mostly and I used to be intrigued by eyebrow shapes, so I used to create eyebrow shapes, I used to draw the beach, and the shore, because when I was little at 7-8 years of age, I had taken my first trip out to the beach and flying too, so I put all those in my Diary. I stopped writing and drawing in my diary when I was about 12 years old, and when I turned 13, I stopped playing with dolls and barbies too. Now as I look back into my Diary there were so many things I wrote about my school crushes, about the people I liked, people I didn’t like, and I wrote about how people used to really bully me because I was different then everyone else, and I never used to let anybody read and see my diary. I always kept it in a private place in my room that not even my mom could find it.

Now, I have my diary in one of my memories boxes and sometimes I take it out to just look and see what I have, and sometimes I forget what I have. So its really nice to spend some time to look at past memories and see how big of a difference in time there is. I love diaries, I love keeping these things because its a sentimental value to me and all the memories that are filled in those diaries and memorable things I kept from the past. I still have not shown it to anyone and I probably never will, but maybe I will in the long run. Lets see what happens. In the last one to two years of writing in my diary those coloured gel pens, hybrid, neon coloured pens came out and everyone started having them, so I decided I want some too, so I had a big collection of them and I started writing letters, diaries, and everything with that. I made friends from when I went to Daytona Beach, Florida and they came from England back in 1997-1998, and I started to write to them with these gel pens and we kept writing to each other back and forth for about 4 years and then that is when e-mail came to place and then we kept in touch from then on.

It is pretty neat on how time plays a big impact on how diaries, letters are written, and now our diary is our blog and virtually and technology has evolved a lot since then. How many of you have had diaries when you were little? Do you still have them now? Do you know anybody who still writes in a journal book? I don’t know how many do, but now blogging, and writing journals online has changed the way diaries are written, and to me, nothing beats writing and using imagination in hand written diaries, decorating it, arts and crafts. Although writing a blog online and on a computer also has its greatness, but really, nothing beats being crafty and doing hands on things. How about you?

Preserving North American Historic Architecture and It’s Landmarks

In recent news, I heard about a few landmarks in Toronto Canada will be shut down like Casa Loma because of Money, and that is a great course of concern for me. This is a big problem and it needs to be addressed. In North America, it seems to me that whenever a landmark gets old, or buildings get old with Historic Architecture, and when buildings get outdated, they automatically think its okay to demolish it or shut it down and build modern looking buildings that destroy a historic building and a site which was once a vital part of history. It is not right to tamper with historical monuments and buildings because when we look back in history books and pictures, people will wonder what happened to those buildings? Historians and those who are becoming historians and studying archeology and other forms of history subjects, it is important to preserve our history and not rebuild something new.

In All of Europe and some middle eastern countries, they are doing their best to conserve, preserve and make sure that artifacts, buildings, museums and other important parts of a country’s history does not fade away and that is exactly what North America is doing. A Hockey Arena the Maple Leaf Gardens were converted to a grocery store and a department store, it is not a cool thing to do, I’d rather it be there as a museum of Hockey history, rather than it being destroyed and used for other things. A lot of people were not happy about that. What I am saying is that, when a piece of history gets destroyed, that is something that Is not good for the future of Canada or the United States of America. Preserving and making sure that these are well kept so that future generations can visit and learn about it through history books, and set up trips to go see these monuments, buildings and actually get a feel of history. I am not saying that each historical monument or building is shut down or destroyed, but I am talking about the ones that are. It is crucial and vital for our identity as North Americans, and that is a big piece of the puzzle. If we destroy history, then what will we teach to our future generations?

This really alarmed me and I felt the need to share it with you all. It is important to raise awareness to stop from these things happening. We all need to do our best to prevent history from fading away and preserve it as much as possible.

Childhood Memories I Miss – Watching My Favourite Cartoons

I have been thinking a lot about my childhood memories and I miss so many things about it. The years and time are going by ever so quickly and there has been a vast change in everything since then. A lot has happened since then and it makes me appreciate on what life was before, but I also appreciate now too. My Childhood had its ups and downs. Downs at School when I was bullied ever so much, and Ups as soon as I left school to carry on about my life with my family. At Lunch time I would come home, and during the weekends after My Saturday Armenian School, I would enjoy the weekend cartoons. I rarely missed episodes of my favourite cartoons and it would take my mind off of my bullies in school and everything else I would laugh so hard.

Some of my favourite cartoons were Bugs Bunny & Tweety show, Anamaniacs, Flinstones, Sailor Moon, Disney Cartoons. Beetle Juice and Inspector Gadget. These are some of the few that come to my mind right now as I used to watch them most. I miss those shows a lot. I wish these can be reruns now. I don’t see any of these on TV Anymore. I really wish they can come back. I hope they resurface again soon. I would love to relive my childhood moments and so that now I can understand these cartoons more better and laugh all over again.

BON APETIT!

Talin’s Chicken Mushroom Fettucine Alfredo

Cooking is one of my favourite things to do. One of my favourite dishes are Chicken Mushroom Fettucine Alfredo. It seems like its a complicated dish to cook, but it really isn’t. Now to start:

To prepare the chicken:

1. Start by getting a bag of Chicken Leg Quarters — there should be 4-5 of them in the bag.
2. Wash with luk-warm water and take off all the skin and the film on top.
3. place the clean chicken into the pot, fill it up with water.
4. Boil the chicken for a good half hour to 45 minutes…
5. after chicken is cooked, place them on a plate and let cool for 20 minutes.
6. Then take off the chicken meat into pieces… discard the bones of course.
7. You are done with the chicken… put the meat aside…

To prepare the Mushroom/Sauce
(DO NOT COOK the Sauce…. YET)

1. Chop about 5 or 6 Mushrooms.
2. Open up 3 cans of Mushroom soup mix
3. Put about a teaspoon of Black Pepper or Cracked Pepper
4. 1-2 Tablespoons of Oregano
5. 1 teaspoon of Salt
6. 1 teaspoon of all spice.
7. Put the Chicken meat in.
8. Mix it together. — Let it be for 5-10 minutes until the flavours incorporate with each other.

To prepare the Fettucine/Tagliatelle noodles:
(instead of throwing out the chicken water, use it for the noodles)

1. Bring the water to boil. if more water needed, just simply add because the water from the chicken would drain a bit due to the cooking process.
2. Put the noodles in – cook them for about 10 minutes until al dente

To Prepare the Full Fettucine Alfredo Chicken Mushroom:

1. Get a pyrex from an anchor brand or something
2. Spray the whole pan with Pam until fully covered so it will not stick to the pan.
3. Put the Noodles in first…
4. Add the Mushroom/Chicken Sauce Mix with the bits inside.
5. Add a cup and a half of Mozzerella Cheese, begin mixing it together until all noodles have come in contact with it. Make sure it is even throughout the pan…
6. to make it a browned effect up top, fill the top with parmesan cheese powder

To Cook:

1. pre-heat the oven to a 350 degrees convectional.
2. as soon as pre-heat has been done, put the pyrex into the oven.
3. Let cook for 30-45 minutes or when desired… all ovens dont have the same strength so it depends.
