Recently on this social networking site called facebook this wonderful lady and I decided to add each other and become instant friends so then a couple of weeks ago we officially met face to face in Montreal, It was a pleasure to meet this incredible and sweet woman named Carmen Djemalian. I found out her and I share an interest in writing, and expressing our feelings, and meeting people who freely express themselves without hesitation is a big thing in my books. Carmen and I share similarities, that I can never have the same similarities as other people. well, I cannot say never. It may happen someday in my life, but so far She is the first one whom I have met. in these past couple of weeks since, we’ve officially met face to face, It really was nice to see Carmen even if it was very short and sweet. I thank God everyday that facebook was created because you can surely find great people on there.

The reason why I am giving recognition and acknowledgement of this wonderful individual, is because she deserves recognition and acknowledgement for all the hard work she does and spends so much time writing and expressing herself. Carmen has a true gift and a talent in writing. I am so happy for her, and I am here to support her 100% in everything. It is difficult to express yourself in writing, and writing personal stories for all to see. I can relate to her. It is not an easy task to write, but if you have it in you, it will come naturally and you gather your mind and thoughts and just start to write, but she truly has a gift of which I truly appreciate and applaud her for it.

You see, Carmen and I do not live in the same city, but we try to communicate often and her writings really inspire me, and it touches my heart, and I take her writings and I try to make it part of my daily life as possible. Apple’s Iphone Or Blackberry – Your Opinion

As a blackberry user for more than 2 and a half years now, I decided to make the switch to the Iphone world of Apple. I want to get an iPhone because it gives me more options and I am more organized when it comes to my work, my blogging, social media, and among other apps that I really like and seeing and playing with different apps that are neat from my friends phones and everything really puts a new perspective on things and really makes life so much easier in terms of communicating with others and plus having the face time, and among so many things. Now what is your opinion? What do you think I should stick with? I know blackberry 10 is coming up, and I don’t know with all the problems that blackberry phones have had with the battery dying quickly, the freezing of the phone and having to take the battery in and out again so it will function and when the blackberry phone starts it takes a while for the bar to fully be loaded and go into the homepage and home screen of the phone.

I think I will switch to the iPhone, I am thinking of starting with the iPhone 4S and work my way up to the 5. I think the 4S is great and all the features and everything is so awesome. What is your opinion? Are you an iPhone or Blackberry user? Have you had problems? What are your ratings on the functionality of the phones and what do you think and recommend for me? I don’t plan to go to android, or Samsung phones. It is either Apple or Blackberry. I cannot go to an HTC phone or whatever other phones there are out there. I am hoping that my switch will be great and I will be a happy camper. So far my friends, family are really happy with Apple’s iPhone. So lets see where it takes me.

Being Assertive & Choosing Friends Wisely

You know its said that you shouldn’t make the same mistake twice and sometimes learning the hard way on certain situations is the only way to learn. For some people anyway. Learning how to be assertive, learning how to differentiate between fake and real people takes quite a bit of skill and it takes time to adapt in society and the type of people who are in this world now. Unfortunately sometimes we get caught in the midst between fake and real and sometimes its really hard to detect a phony with real person. Ladies and gentlemen we shouldn’t be so adamant and eager on making friends for the sake of making friends with just anybody. Friendships and relationships take time to build and time to progress. It is finding the right people and finding suitable people is the big thing. Nowadays it takes a long time to trust people, and life isn’t the way it used to be so many years ago where you would keep your doors open, where life wasn’t as difficult and where everyone helped each other and there was something so special between people and now its so rare. Don’t give in too quickly, and don’t assume everyone is your friend, because they aren’t.

Choose your friends wisely, and only have a few friends in your life that will brighten you up, that are honest with you, that don’t take advantage of you and your good heart and soul, who will be there in good times and bad times, and only have friends that you can count with your fingers, because that is all you need. It is not a popularity contest of how many people you know, its the quality of friends you have which should matter the most. Everything else should not matter. As long as you choose and as long as you take on building friendships and relationships, but don’t rush into anything. Not everyone will be on the same page as you and not everyone will give in. So be careful and choose wisely.

ACYOC Ski Trip 2007

another throwback of the past of my articles written

On Friday March 2, 2007 SR. ACYOC committee and participants embarked on a wonderful journey with the bus to Blue Mountain in Collingwood, Ontario for a weekend getaway with the Armenian youth. About 30 to 35 people were in attendance. Before everyone arrived, a few people had already gone up to the chalet to prepare and get everything ready for everyone’s arrival. We thank Vicken Orfali for providing the transportation to Blue Mountain and Back to Toronto and taking our participants back and forth from the chalet to the Slopes. That night everyone was getting to know one another and enjoying a delicious meal which was Pasta and Salad. As the night progressed everyone was excited to be there and that was followed by great dancing to Armenian Music.

Our Pastor Reverend Archpriest Zareh Zargarian came to visit the youth on the first day and had a discussion on different topics. People had an option to ski or snowboard and some people just took the weekend as a relaxing getaway from daily, school and work stresses and so some people just stood back at the chalet and took that time to relax and meet with friends and newly made friends. That evening we had wonderful Tortilla’s for dinner but before dinner, we prayed with Father Zareh and we got to know one another a little better and it was followed by more Armenian Dancing and have a lot of fun and it was sad to say that it was the last night and the weekend was just too short for our participants.

On Sunday we had our breakfast and it was our morning to go back to Toronto and so everyone started to pack up and clean up before disembarkation from Blue Mountain.

The purpose of having a ski trip together was to unite the Armenian Youth together to enjoy and create everlasting memories and friendships for a lifetime. We thank the wonderful SR. ACYOC committee for working extremely hard to make sure it was a weekend that everyone will enjoy and remember for a lifetime and those names are the following: Vicken Orfali, Natalie Kouyoumdjian, Maral Deveci, Celine Kirkoc, Talin Orfali, Arman Tanelyan, Ara Libarian, Ara Keoshkerian, Kevin Evran, Raffi Orfali and Saro Khatchadourian. We hope to see you at our next Ski Trip and our upcoming events in the near future. God Bless you.

Annual ACYOC Camping Trip at Rideau Acres, In Kingston Ontario 2007

throwback of 2007

My articles I wrote of the past.

Friday morning, August 10th, 2007, 68 ACYOC youth from Montreal, Laval, Ottawa, Mississauga and Toronto embarked on a wonderful journey to Rideau Acres Campgrounds in Kingston.  The youth gathered for a weekend full of fun, togetherness, making new friends, and reuniting with old friends.  As the campers arrived and put their tents up, we created a little Armenian Village.  The barbecue started with hamburgers and hot dogs and at night we gathered around the fire for fellowship and just having a great time until wee hours of the morning.

On Saturday morning, August 11th, additional people arrived from various areas of Ontario and Quebec.  All the campers went swimming in the campsite pool, where we spent majority of the day.  We enjoyed playing ball, diving into the water with different moves, playing different water games,  getting some sun, and just relaxing by the pool and having a good time  cooling off from the hot sun.  As the nightfall neared, our wonderful Toronto ACYOC crew prepared shish kebabs and salad for dinner.  The fellowship that we started on Friday night continued, as we roasted marshmallows, told stories and riddles, and had fun.

On Sunday Morning August 12th, everyone packed up tents and belongings and prepared to return home.  It was a very short weekend that passed quickly, but we will never let go of the bonds we created and old friendships that we strengthened.  Thank you to the Toronto ACYOC for working extremely hard for a successful weekend. Without all the helping hands, this camping trip would not have been possible.

Thank you to all 68 Participants for participating, and we hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did.  God bless everyone and hope to see you next year.

Here is to ACYOC Camping Trip 2008!

ACYOC Ski Trips To Blue Mountain

Today I want to show you an article I wrote from my past when I wrote for my Armenian community and church.

More to come this week…..

The Armenian Church Youth Organization of Canada has been organizing ski trips for their Senior and Junior members for years.  This is considered one of the most exciting events of the group and every year more people join in to spend couple of days enjoying the great outdoor activities in one of the best places that Ontario has to offer.

In February & March 2010, the Seniors’ group led by Garen Hagopian, and the Juniors’ group led by Nareg Zargarian, had weekends away, starting by gathering at Holy Trinity Armenian Church.

Following a prayer in the evening and receiving Rev. Archpriest Zareh Zargarian’s good wishes and advice, the groups settled in their buses and were on their way to Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood.

Youth representatives from Montreal also attended the Senior ACYOC group’s trip in February.  We spent the days skiing, snowboarding, eating beavertails, going to the village, shopping, swimming in an outdoor warm pool, listening to music, playing cards, cooking and having meals together.  But most of all we enjoyed each others company, strengthened our friendships and made new friends.

The main focus of ACYOC is to connect Armenian youth together, and organize events that we will talk about for years to come and creating everlasting memories.  We hope to see more youth joining us in ski trips and other events in the years to come.

Bible Exploration Group gave a helping hand at Children’s Aid Society…

I know this is an old article I had written, but this is one of the articles in the past I wrote for my Armenian community website. I thought I share it with you all today.

On Wednesday November 12, 2008, twelve members of Holy Trinity Armenian Church Bible Study Group volunteered at the Children’s Aid Society to help out with Christmas Gift Wrapping. We met with Krista who gave us instructions and we started our work by sorting out the number of children in each family, their age and gender. There were 2 separate rooms full of toys for the girls and the boys. The evening was a great success and I thank everyone who came out and assisted.

We all had a great time knowing that we made a difference in the lives of less fortunate children and their families particularly in the Toronto area. When those children open up their gifts on Christmas morning, I am sure they will be happy and smiling that they have toys to play with and to enjoy everyday. This was our second time participating at the Children’s Aid Gift Wrapping Drive. It was great to work together for a great cause and have fun at the same time after which we celebrated our hard work at The Armenian Kitchen where we enjoyed delicious Armenian dishes. We ended off the evening with happy faces as we all went home. We will be back at Children’s aid next year to volunteer again.

In General, Relying on People Are Hard to Find These days.

Trust has become minimal these days and relying on people is something so rare. The world is changing day by day, people are changing, the society is changing, peoples attitudes and the way life is now. It is sad to see how once people who promise to be by your side always, and promise that they will always be there for you and all of a sudden those people whom you thought you can rely on no longer live up to their promises. It is very hurtful to see people who make promises and cannot keep them. Especially when you think those people are close to you and who you thought would never abandon you.

It is especially hurtful sometimes when it comes from your own family or from best friends. I know that everyone has their lives to live and things come up, but people should not make promises that they cannot keep. I have learned the hard way. I have learned that when you want something done right, when you need to get somewhere, you do it yourself. It is very important to learn who true people are these days and its important to stand up for yourself no matter what the situation is.

It is especially hurtful to come to terms on how some people say that whatever you have on your mind, or you want to express your feelings, talk about problems and they say that they will be there to listen, give you advice, hug you and tell you its going to be ok, or they give you some words of wisdom, then they do not follow through. Its so extremely hurtful, and they are feeling you will never forget.

You must learn how to stand on your own two feet. I have learned that in the end the people whom you once thought that you can depend on, you cannot anymore. It is unfortunate but this is how reality is. Many times I have been let down and many people have put me down and its not a good feeling at all.

I hope that nobody has to go through these issues. I am glad I have people in the last few years that have really helped me through the worst times of my life, but then again those bad feelings come back to haunt you and its not a good feeling at all. I have experienced so much in my life, so much rejection, so much angst, anguish, everything. It was terrible once I stepped out of my home. I don’t know if it was written on my forehead or this vibe toward me was not right. To this very day, I still speculate, and wonder why I was bullied, why people treated me differently then everyone else. I have always been belittled and picked on and now trusting people is very difficult for me.

To those who are going through all this and people who have gone through it, your not alone. I am in the same boat.

Growing Out My Hair To Donate To Cancer Patients

In the last few years, I have learned about people growing their hair, and a lot of people have donated hair to causes such as the terrible disease called cancer and this year I decided to Grow out my hair and make it long to donate to those who are living with cancer. I want to make a difference in one persons life to have hair, as unfortunately cancer therapy takes away hair from patients. My hair grows quite quickly per month and this is something I want to do for society, to make a difference, to reach out to others who need something. Cancer is such a terrible disease, and my thoughts and prayers for those living with it, and I wish you all a speedy recovery and to get back to life and win the battle with this terrible disease, and my condolences to those who have lost people in their lives with this disease or any other one. It is not easy. I’ve lost a few people to cancer in my family, and some family friends and its something that I want to help people with, and donating my hair for Cancer is something I can give to someone who lost hair. I really feel the need to do this for someone. Like I said, its something very personal to me and even if it wasn’t so personal, I will help people no matter what.

I hope cancer cures can be found soon and people can be cured and go on with life, to grow back hair, to grow back into life, to do everything. So I made the decision and I will be helping people out. That is a goal of mine.

Charming Charlie – Jewelery, Handbags, Fashion

Months ago in October of 2012 when I visited Fresno, California I visited this incredible and beautiful store called Charming Charlie. There was an array of different accessories, custom made jewelery, fashion bags, and so many more things to do with fashion and what is in the modern society. I just fell in love with all the things I saw, but too bad I didn’t make any purchases as I didn’t have much room in my luggage to come back. So I just looked around and browsed. For years now I am a big fan of custom made jewelery and handbags and I have a lot of different colours too. It is like Ardene, Claires, Aldo Accessories, but Charming Charlie adds a lot more spice and flare into the fashion industry for accessories and giving accent and flare to your overall fashion and appearance.

Charming Charlie is very popular in the United States. I wish they can open up a few stores in Canada. I would for sure do my shopping there from now on and the prices are very reasonable, and not expensive at all. Which is something I really look at too when I made purchases. I always look at the fine print, and all the advertizing at the stores, and I get e-mail from them so I look at the deals and keep them all. I like to save money and only get stuff when I need it or when I need it for an outfit I have or when there is an event, but I will write Charming Charlie an e-mail to suggest to open up stores in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Ottawa, and other places that are population condensed.

I really hope they do read my e-mail about it. I think it would be great for them to expand to other countries and especially bordering to the United States of the north. What is your fashion sense? What makes your fashion and what makes you happy about it?

Never Put Yourself Down – No Matter What Life Throws At You

Well hello February! I want to start off the month with something that has been a course of concern for me and I have been witnessing and experiencing this from other people and I am not liking it at all. It is really bothering me of how some people can say bad things and put themselves down and that is something that I am not happy with. I’ve heard people put themselves down because they failed in something in life, they feel like they look a certain way that makes people not like them, how people insult themselves and their ability to do something. Its not a good thing to do. No matter what life throws at you, you shouldn’t put yourself down. Life is unpredictable, anything can happen, but never lose your self worth, never lose your sense and always know that we are all able to do something in our lives. One may be great at doing something and one may be good at doing another thing. It is the way our life cycle works. We all have a purpose in life, and it just hurts me to see people selling themselves short.

Life can be such a battle, life can be difficult, Yes we all go through problems, issues and personal things that sometimes puts us in a predicament, life can change at any moment, things can happen that are unexpected, but never lose yourself and make fun of yourself because something is not going the way you planned it to be at that moment in time. Things always have a way of working out and everything happens for a reason. You just have to trust yourself, put yourself up, always think with positivity, optimism and always know that life will get better. Sometimes life gets tricky, sometimes we end up doing things were not proud of, we make mistakes, were human after all right? So lighten up a little, don’t insult yourself and tell yourself you are not good enough, that you are not all that, because you are all that. You don’t need to try so hard to impress others. Just be yourself, and don’t ever succumb into negative feelings. I know sometimes you cannot help being sad and sad is a part of life, but don’t let it overpower you.

You are special in your own way, you have your talents, skills, abilities and so much potential that you can share with the world. Just because something doesn’t happen for you right now, doesn’t mean it never will. Just give yourself some time, just stop and breath and just relax. Everything will happen when you least expect it No matter what life throws. We do have somethings to offer to the world, but sometimes were afraid to express it, some people are really self conscious about things and do not want to perform and do not want to get out there. Everyone has an ability. Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learning how to dance in the rain. I have learned that in my life. Just take it easy and learn. It is never late to learn new things, you learn new things about the world, you learn new things about you, you are always learning, even though you do not realize it. It always comes out to be in the end.

Just learn to trust yourself, give yourself that push, the poise, confidence, optimistic and happy approach to everything or else if you keep putting yourself down, you will not get anywhere in life. So keep going, pick yourself up, smile and face the world and what it throws at you. Life is beautiful. It is up to you to make it beautiful. Enjoy life, Live a little, let loose, and take sometime to take care of you and to do things for you.

All the best to you all.
