Unfortunately in the society that we live in today is one, that we always have to watch our backs, watch who we spend our time with, watch on who we trust, and simply watching everything that we do in our lives. There are people who will ruin other peoples reputation, who will ruin something good that happens in ones life all because of jealousy, and ones insecurity, that they are afraid to show who they really are and be the person who they are obviously not. Their are people who are ought to get you and you must becareful because these type of people are people you want to stay far away from and not associate with them.
This world is oversaturated with materialism, must have gagdets that in 2 or 3 years will not be good anymore in the sole purpose of having it to show off to people. What is the point? Also, why are interior personal lives of politicians, celebrities and other activists have to always be broadcasted and have media coverage and waste paper and ink supplies just to cover them? Perfect example Justin Beibers Paternity Test, Kim Kardashians Divorce, Overplayed, Over saturation of popular people in our world, Get over yourself media. These people are entitled to their own privacy too and people can’t be so obsessed over people. people need to relax and the media needs to understand and put a limit. When something goes out of control, its too much. Where does the media draw the line? Our lives are far more valuable and far more important then to spend our time paying attention to news like this.
Life is already short in itself and people must know that we can never turn back time and time is going to keep going and going. Its time we pay attention to whats important to each and everyone of us and stop trying to impress other people, and to stop trying to mendle in a persons life who we dont even know in person. Its time to think of more important things in life such as establishing a future, establishing a good name for yourself, establishing who you are and what you do, a profession that you would be comfortable in, and an education that will live with you forever.
in the end all we have is ourselves and what we make of ourselves. It is up to you how you want to run your life, but be cautious, be safe and be smart.
Thank you for visiting my blog. You are indeed a good writer. All the best.
I completely agree about the media. I wish there was a “Good News Network” out there. I would watch that over the doom and gloom media we have now.
I’d like to add one other concern — texting and SMS and other electronic forms of communication. We are partners in crime with the electronics industry in cutting ourselves off from each other. People turn on FB, or other sites, and stay on all day, keeping up with their friends, even those who live or work a block away. One person in the back of the room will text a question to a person eight rows closer to the front, and then anxiously await an answer. This person is less than ten steps away from you. Stand up, walk those steps, and talk to each other. Please.
A good post, many good points. Materialism is exhausting, I find.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! It really does mean a lot to know that people are actually reading and appreciating my work 🙂 Your a brilliant, honest writer and I really do think that people like that are hard to come by nowadays…
Before I go, I would like to add one more thing – your tag line is amazing. I think in a matter of time, I would start quoting you because that really brought a tear to my eye 🙂
Wise philosophy and awareness 🙂
Good post!
I agree with every word you say, finally over here the media , ie. Rupert Murdoch, his son and his newspapers are on the line now for , lies and phone hacking. The world has gone mad we have already lost a generation to the “me, me give give ” attitudes of today ignorance and illiteracy are rife and the way this lost generation are dragging up the next we may even loose more generations! I hope and pray we wake up soon! Be well be happy and power to your pen!
Very well written. This is so true. We have become such a materialistic culture, I think we have lost the value of what life is really about.
I couldn’t agree more. Thanks for this insightful post 🙂 xx
This is the same topic a friend and I were having a few days back: a life without substance. It’s all what can I get and from whom in the quickest way with very little effort or thought regardless of the outcome or who I hurt. Funny thing is, it’s a stark contrast from what we actually need. Explains why so many people are lonely/depressed/hyper-sensitive/confused/unfulfilled etc. And is why even after we have so much, we still yearn for me.
I came here after you visited my blog, so firstly, Thank You! And because you did, I was able to browse yours, and aren’t I glad I did. Great thoughts and wise words.x
Yes! Nothing more to say but yes I agree completely.
That is so true. Today’s people are always constantly wondering what other people think about them, what they might be doing, etc., that it’s hard to just lean back and remember what really matters and how to have some privacy once again.
Also, thanks again for reading my posts 🙂
Your post reminds me how important it is to keep only ‘real’ people in my life! Thank you.
As you mentioned, life is short and wasting time ‘watching my back’ around people who don’t have best intentions is not worth my time. I want to surround myself with those who I care about, and genuinely care about me.
I ignore the media hype. It’s difficult if you are online often, but you have to filter out the noise. Sadly, people will always be interested in the lives of celeb’s – they just feed the ‘media’ bear.
in today’s restless world good thoughts are like getting a glass of water in desert. Thanks for sharing your good thought. Keep the tempo going.
I don’t believe it’s today’s society, it’s always been every society. The difference is the ease and accessibility to the news and information and how its marketed. Why do we pay attention to celebrities and drama? Because we do! We don’t have too but don’t be upset because its big business to sell you! through effective marketing. Stop buying what they are selling and they will change how they market to you.
Hi! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.
This is indeed a very wise post. I’ll surely be reading more on your blog.
Things can always change. More people are wising up…at least until a new trend comes along.
“This world is oversaturated with materialism”
Well said!!
By the way, I love your blog description on the header!
Thanks for visiting my blog!
Unfortunately in the society that we live in today is one, that we always have to watch our backs, There are people who will ruin other peoples reputation, who will ruin something good that happens in ones life all because of jealousy, and ones insecurity, that they are afraid to show who they really are and be the person who they are obviously not. Their are people who are ought to get you and you must becareful because these type of people are people you want to stay far away from and not associate with them…… I agree with another post above about the todays society… it has always been like that….. But a wise man once said: before you point your finger at someone else make sure you have your own hands clean…. It is true, there are people filled with jealosy, who appear with the mask of the generous one…. and there are people who sacrifice their own personal life, the well being of their own children to be where a friend or a ‘friend’ wants them to be, only to find out in shock that they are actually unwanted there, that too much poison is spread behind their back (perhaps due to pure jealosy?) and there are also people filled with bags of paranoia who think that a simple talk, walk etc. is made on the purpose of destroying their life, purity etc. etc. and they rich this conclusion so magically fast ….. There is a beautiful saying of Emily Bonte about us judging others which unfortuantely I dont’ remember how it is exactly….
“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.” – Carl Gustav Jung
Hello..Thank you for the ‘like’ on ‘Game Show Babies’..I like your post. You covered a lot of territory and it is a validity that fronting folks off in an attempt for sensationalistic put downs are horrible. They require no social sense beyond a back yard, over the fence, gossip party. Whenever I hear what ‘everyone else’ is saying or doing I just comment ‘I can only speak for myself..have a gud one..:-) Peace Tony

Love this post; it really echoes my feelings. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Not a whole lot of people saying what you just said;) So true and thanks for sharing and thanks for visiting!
Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog. You and I seem to be on the same frame of thought.
So true. It is so important to associate ourselves with the right people. To spend some time and think about the kind of people we would like to associate ourselves with and to think about how and where we might find them. Often it will be around common interests
I could not agree with you more. But I guess that if folks were not interes, I mean addicted to this kind of media coverage it would fade away. Here in the UK younger folks seem to thrive on a media diet of celeberity trivia. Personally I don’t care who they stick in the jungle and force to eat the genitals of a Kangaroo. I have never heard of most of themso the entire program is pointless. It seems as though people aspire to being famous without doing anything and the rest are just envious of the lives these “famous” people lead. Don’t get it at all
Great post!
