Anyone Remember Super Mario Bros. Nintendo Games?

Lately I have been having the urge to bring out my old Nintendo Game Console along with my Super Mario Bros’ Games and play them like old times. I remember when I used to know all the secrets to the game and I used to use the Game Genie to play Super Mario Bros’ 3, I knew all the tips and tricks on how to get through the levels all the way to world 8. I remember I used to play with my Brother. I rarely got the chance to be Mario because I am the younger sibling so I always was stuck with Luigi playing some of the games. Super Mario 1, I also played Duck Hunt too. It was such a fun game and I remember I was a pro at it. Probably now if I play it, I will be a little rusty and I won’t know what to do on some parts, but I used to play enough that I should still remember it. I liked the Mushroom and the 1ups the most. The stars were fun too, along with the leaf. The First 3 Mario Bros’ were the best. I didn’t like Mario on Nintendo 64 or any other gaming Console. The first Nintendo was the best. Then when the game didn’t work, we had to blow warm air into the game cartridge so it worked. I am a huge fan of that gaming console. I really don’t like the ones that are out now. I am not a huge fan of them.

Original Nintendo, nothing beats it. I remember I used to play that game with my cousins, friends and we used to have hours of fun with it. Our game was Mario Bros’ most of the time. Konami games too. What was your favourite Nintendo Game? Did you enjoy Super Mario Bros’ too? Did you own a Nintendo before? What are your favourite memories when you played it? I think people still play it to this day and I know a lot of people who have kept their Nintendo. It is a collectors item now and a classic. It would be crazy to give that away. I am having the urge to play it today. I maybe will later on. Hopefully if time permits me to do so. I remember I used to have so many whistles. I used them all up to go to the world 8 on Super Mario 3. I once played all the levels without using the whistle. It is more fun that way. I remember the ones with the aquarium and fish levels. That was so cute with the different types of fish in there, but you had to get away from them and head to the finish line before time was up.

I know Gaming Consoles have evolved so much since then, but nothing beats the Original Nintendo no matter what anybody says. Those were the days. I like Original things, and I appreciate the way things were made before. I felt the quality even though we had to blow into the game cartridge, but that was half the fun. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I would love to see the Original Nintendo come back as it was so popular before. Nothing beats the 80′s and 90′s of Gaming. Would love to hear about your memories.

Building A Sense Of Individuality Can Be A Battle in Decision Making

In life I am sure a lot of us have encountered people who always have a problem or an issue with how one individual gets things done, or how they think and feel, and there will always be people who will try to please everyone by always listening to everybody else, and not thinking about what that person really likes. For example, when someone or some people start planning a party, wedding, engagement party, special occasion gathering or just some simple gathering, and you start planning the venue, the colours, theme, music, food, decorations, and all that other stuff, and when it is time for people who are invited that come to the party and after doing your best to make sure people have a great time, there will be people who will always criticize you, and you hear it from other people who you should have done the decorations in another way, more better music, better theme of the party, but you know what, you have to stand up for what you created, the many hours and days and months it took for preparations, for the time you put into it, and having to hear from someone who it wasn’t up to par and being penalized for doing it that way, why didn’t you do this instead? Don’t you just hate that? There will be people who will say, thank you, had a fabulous time, everything was great, and some people will not even compliment the night or whenever the parties are held.

In this world the only impossible thing to achieve is to please everybody, you cannot, and it will never happen where people see eye to eye on things, people will always find something to say, people will always find a way to rain on someone else parade. It is unfortunate how that happens and it can be difficult to build a sense of individuality can be such a battle because a lot of us want approval and a lot of us wait for others to be impressed with you, but you know what, in the end we are all individuals and if we don’t build ourselves some sort of individuality, then everybody will end up being the same person and there is nothing new in the world to see, everyone will end up with the same kind of personality and there won’t be room for growth and a sense of independence.

I always believe that to be yourself, and to do things that you are capable of doing, if you want to have a party and do some event and if you want it to be a certain way, a certain theme, go for it. Nobody has the right to criticize and put any blame or point fingers on how its done and everything. You went out of your way to have this party or gathering to make it a great time and for people to come together and enjoy with each other is what counts right? Some people are so detail oriented and they always have to pinpoint what is wrong and what is right. It shouldn’t be like that. Yes although being detail oriented is good, but there is a limit to everything.

In this life and in my life, I have learned not to let others walk all over me, and tell me what to do with everything. I make my own decisions, and yes I do listen to advice and I do listen to people who give energy to me about something and what and how I should be doing something, but in the end if someone keeps on making decisions for you, then it will be a battle to build a sense of individuality. it is good sometimes to receive advice if you did something wrong or you approached something in a wrong way, or if you did some mistake or whatever, but people should not be on your case and put you on the spot all the time. you know what I mean right? Well, have you been in this situation before? Have you ever been through these problems where people always make a snide comment or tell you in a way not to offend you? What did you feel about how others criticize you?

I’d love to hear from you.

Toronto’s Pearson International Airport – YYZ – My Love For The Airport

Since I was 7 years old, I embarked on my first journey through Toronto Pearson airport on my way to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and I will never forget the time when I came into the airport. I was so excited and happy. Now every years twice or 3 times a year, I travel through this awesome airport. So much to see in the airport and do before your flight. So many new shops have been open, and everything has become so modern and sophisticated and its easy to go to your gates after you check in prior to boarding. The beauty of the planes landing, taking off, and coming to the gates is something so awesome. From the biggest planes to the smallest. I just love air travel. It is so fantastic. I love it when other passengers ask me questions and stuff. It is like written on my forehead or something hahaha. The Airport code is YYZ for Pearson Airport. I know this well by heart now, and I love going to the airport even if its dropping off someone. I am always the one to be dropping off people and having them be on their way to their flights because everyone knows that I know the ropes and how to manage well at the airport. It takes a little research and patience with everything. Once you go to the airport it is pretty straight forward on what to do. you just have to prepare before you go, you have to do everything in your power to make your airport stay and your experience a happy and pleasant one. Don’t go to the airport not knowing diddly squat about it, don’t go to the airport being completely clueless. research research research, that is the way to go, but again if you have doubts, you can still ask airport personnel but everything would be more simple when you do research right?

A few blogs ago I wrote about tips before, at the airport and after the airport on what to do. If you have any questions in regards to anything you don’t understand at the airport, let me know and I will help you. It can be Toronto, It can be Los Angeles, it could be an airport in Europe, just ask me and I will guide you through simple steps you can do to avoid hassle at any airport across the world. Gotta love my Pearson Toronto Airport :)

I am sure a lot of people have gone through those problems with not knowing the procedures of an airport, checking in, heading to your gate on time to make your flight, knowing what to do before heading to the airport, confirming with your flight before heading to the airport, what to pack in your carry on, the weight limits, etc. Well, have trouble no more. Talin to the rescue. I am here to show you how to get through security efficiently, how to check in with your tickets, getting your boarding pass, among how to have fun when traveling, being social while traveling with other passengers, initiating conversations with others traveling. Its a pretty fun experience if you make it fun. You don’t want to start your travels being miserable now do you? Well, without further do, here are my tips for happy traveling:

Tips on Heading to Airport with all the necessary documents and the know how:

01 — Make sure you have your passport ready – make sure it is not expired or close to expiry day. That can cause problems and some destinations won’t allow passports that are ready to expire 6 months to the date it expires. check with the airport and country visiting. super important.

02 — Make sure you have all necessary and required documents, visas, vaccination proof, travel insurance cards. As well as Your Travel airline tickets, e-tickets.

03 — do research on the airport, terminals, maps, airline or airlines you will travel with, closest restrooms to the gates, places to dine or have a coffee or whatever. So that your travel experience will be fast and easy getting through airports. you will have a peace of mind and you won’t need to keep asking questions.

04 — Make sure you have prepared addresses, phone numbers to contact.

05 — Make sure you confirm with your airline or airport on your flight times 24 hours before, and then check again 12 hours before, then 6 hours, then 2-3 hours before heading to the airport. You must check around 3-4 times because it may change or delays may arise. so be prepared.

06 — When checking in to check your baggage in, co-operation with the airline attendants is crucial, and answer the questions firmly and to the point, have tickets, passports and everything in your hand while your in line waiting so that you don’t have to scrounge around to look for your stuff in your bags.

07 — Make sure you weigh your baggage, carry on baggage before heading to airport and check with airline listings on weights and measurements on how big you can carry with you on the plane.

Tips on Getting through Customs/Security efficiently and quickly:

01 — Go on websites and call airport security before heading to airport and ask questions if you are not sure of what to pack in your carry on.

02 — Liquids and gels must be in a plastic, transparent bag or unless otherwise is stated by your country customs laws, or airport authority laws.

03 — make sure not to wear too many loose clothing, like jackets, belts, jewelery, hair accessories, and take them all off before going into customs and put them in the bins they provide.

04 — These customs people sense if you are nervous and they sense when someone is out of sort. If you have nothing illegal in your carry on, act normally and don’t show that you are nervous or else that is subject to searching and lots of questions will be asked. So just take it easy and just be normal.

05 — Never make jokes and wearing shirts with bombs, and never make small talk with others in security. stay quiet and do as they say and then once you pass through, you can resume to your chats and discussions, but don’t make jokes on threatening, or making other passengers uneasy and uncomfortable.

06 — After passing through customs. always carefully look at the gate numbers and head to your gate accordingly and look at your boarding pass when it doubt. You don’t always have to ask airport personnel for everything. Airports are now sophisticated and they make it easy for passengers to find their flights easily.

Tips on Having Fun and Making new friends on your travels.

01 — Your traveling, your going on an airplane to a different destination, lighten up a little, smile, be excited, enjoy the experience. Don’t be miserable. Have fun with other people.

02 — You are surrounded by other people who are traveling. make conversation, initiate, start with this “Hey your heading to Cuba too? So am I!” I hope that you have a lovely trip and a great vacation. You can say to a person, hey you look nice, or I like your bag or something of that sort, and if you see someone not smiling, just go up to them and ask is everything okay? do you need to talk about it? its always good to start someones trip with people who are nice. it makes someone feel more better. trust me.

03 — Be nice to the flight attendants, be patient with your requests, don’t hassle flight attendants because they have 200 other passengers to handle and care for too. Your not the only one traveling and with needs higher than others. Always be pleasant with them, they are just trying to do their jobs and following rules. Be mindful and just take it easy. It won’t look good on you when your setting yourself up for negative attention from other passengers, and it saves the hassle. Just be nice and respectful to the officials on the plane and while boarding for your flight. Just enjoy yourself and don’t yell. Not cool.

04 — Enjoy your travel experience. Don’t make others travel experience dull because you choose to be that way.

05 — Most importantly, have fun, help people at the airport, enjoy it.

Have fun and enjoy your travels!

Less Time In The Kitchen, More Time With Guests

Have you ever been in a situation where people come over and your not even ready with things to serve to people who come? Have you ever been in a situation when people come over and you don’t spend much time with them all because your in the kitchen preparing things? I am sure all of us have been through it all. Now I am here to give you some tips and tricks to spend less time in a kitchen and more time entertaining guests with your presence when they come over. Here are some tips:

1. Always have things in your home when you can take it out and serve like cookies, cakes, fruits, veggies, and snacking items. If your the one who likes making things from scratch, that is more better when it’s home made. It makes your guests feel like wow, they spent time to make this for us. which is a nice feeling.

2. Always have everything ready on the counter or on your kitchen table, if they want tea, just keep the water in a stove-top kettle or in a small appliance kettle which heats up water quicker and if they want coffee set up the water and the coffee and when they come, you just push a button, and then you just bring it over to your guests or have them come toward the kitchen area if you have space.

3. It is not a good idea to spend more than half the time in the kitchen. It is not a good way to entertain guests.

4. When people come for dinner, do not start on dinner preparations when they come over, have it all done, and set on the table. especially when it involves meats, chickens and stuff, make sure you have it all cooked and ready and all you need to do is take it out when they come. If your going to barbecue, make sure you prepare things before they come and all you need to do is just put the meat on the grill or whatever else and your good to go.

5. When people bring chocolates, dessert, coffee, or something else edible, or a gift for the house its customary and its a must to serve what they brought to you. Its respectful to open up their gifts they give you in front of them and thank them a few times while they are at your house, and find the perfect place for it in front of them. Unless they advise you not to open it, you can open it later, then that’s okay, but usually they would want you to open it up in front of them. They won’t tell you, but they will in other ways.

6. It is not a bad thing to ask for help to bring the trays to the table. Ask for help when needed just to bring over trays and help you pick up the stuff after. all it takes is a few seconds to have it all cleared right?

——————–

There you have it. Always put your guests first when they come over. Spending much time with them as possible and spending less time in the kitchen is very important. These little things you do, show a lot to others and when you do, they will want to keep coming back.

Have a great time!

Talin’s Helpful Tips In The Kitchen And Organization

Hello All! Today, I am going to talk to you about tips on how to keep your kitchen organized and clean at all times. I know that is easier said than done right? I know its one of the most busiest places in your home with all the cooking, and preparing food daily, entertaining guests, and the whole thing can be a hassle. Well, I am here to help you make your kitchen hassle free, clear of mess, and efficient ways to cook, clean, and organize your kitchen in simple easy steps as well as what to refrigerate and what not to. Well, lets start shall we?

How to Organize Your Fridge:

Now, this is a huge problem in most households probably, and this took me many months to figure out what to do with my fridge and what I can do to keep it organized and visible with everything. I do not like to get so much of everything from the grocery store. I am one of those people who don’t over shop for things. I like to finish what I see in my fridge before I go out and buy again. Unless there are people coming over, or if you have a large to a small family. It depends on how much you can store in your fridge, but once something finishes, I go back to the grocery store which is not even 5 minutes away and I get out and leave. I save so much money that way and my life will be a lot easier with organization.

Here is what to refrigerate after opening. It is important to put soya sauce, any types of barbecue sauce, gourmet sauces, ketchup, peanut butter, jams, cheese whiz, jello pudding, pudding, we get from the grocery store to preserve its freshness. Never put these things in your pantry after opening. Its a no no. Although same don’t have a refrigerate after opening, but you have to so that it won’t go stale and it does if you do not put it in there.Always look at expiration dates, always clean your fridge once a week.

I like to make separate bins of fruits, vegetables, citrus fruits, keep them in separate bins, then keep the eggs in the egg carton. Don’t transfer the eggs to other places. Keep a section for your toast breads, keep a section for yogurts, milks, and other dairy products like cheese, then another section put all your jams, peanut butter and other condiments. Then in one section put other foods that you have, but always organize and create space so that it won’t overlap everything and get on top of each other. Always get a run through of what you have in your freezer and fridge and do an inventory of what you have, and whatever you don’t go to your local grocery store and stock up on the items your missing. this way you will see what you have and don’t have and so that you don’t buy too much of something that you don’t need. When things are on sale people go and jump at it like no tomorrow, it doesn’t mean you need to get a whole bunch of it, because if you do and don’t use it and it sits for months or a few weeks, it won’t be good anymore and it will go bad. Its money down the drain. even when its on special.

How to Keep your Kitchen Clean at All times — Especially when cooking and after cooking

The kitchen is one of my favorite places to be and cleanliness is number one to me. I am so picky and a clean freak. During when I cook, I am so cautious of food getting on the counter tops and cook space, so I wash my fruits and veggies thoroughly, then I like to use a nice cutting board and  I chop everything preventing any of it to get on the counter and i clean off the cutting board and put every bit of it in the dish I am cooking up. After I am done using something, I automatically wash what I am not using anymore. So in the end you won’t have mountains of dishes to wash. Its a great idea to wash everything, and then you can focus on just cooking the food after all the preparations are complete. saves a whole lot of time too. then all you need to do after, is just wash some plates and the pots and your good to go. Dish cloths, hand towels and oven mitts should be washed regularly, and folded away neatly in a drawer.

Cleaning your kitchen counters with warm water and vinegar is so important. do that at least once a week. sometimes more. depending if your dealing with meats, but its always a good idea. do not use other chemicals on your surfaces. Not good. Vinegar and water and its also good for mopping the floors.

How to Keep your Pantry Organized

Now one of the things in the pantry I cannot stand are bags. I like to take out pasta, bulgur, sugar, peanuts and other nuts and seeds, and go get containers and storage containers with first washing them before using and putting them all in different containers. I like to keep my Pantry Organized too. you put your oils, and vinegars in one spot, then you put grains in one spot, breakfast cereals, pancake mix, oatmeal, cake mixes, jello packets, and other things stored properly. Like I said if you have something, do not buy until its finished with.

How to Have an Organized Kitchen All around

Some kitchens are small, and some kitchens are big, but it all depends on you and how you want to organize your kitchen, but everything has its place. Its important to have pots in one spots, pans, pyrex and other pans in one spot. All utensils, cooking utensils, in one spot, your machines, gadgets should be in a cabinet stored in your lower cabinets. plates, cups, glasses, in one side. It is important to keep organized and you will see a difference.

When you maintain your kitchen and when you have everything organized. your life will be much easier, and when you know people are coming over, prepare everything in advanced so that you won’t spend hours in the kitchen when you can be with your guests in your home a lot longer and have good conversations, instead of running to the kitchen every few minutes. Lay out everything in front of them so that you prevent several trips to the kitchen. Preparation is key to organization in the kitchen. always think ahead.

Well, there you have it. my tips and tricks to keeping your kitchen tidy, organized and clean… Cleanliness is very important. Enjoy your kitchen.
