It Is Not About The Quantity Of Friends, Its About The Quality

In life we will come across so many people in our lives, and some think that the more friends you have the more popular you will be and the more better you will be, and that is wrong. You can have so many friends, you can hundreds of people being your friend and some people will be more concerned about having quantity instead of quality, well, that should not be. I’d rather have a few friends who will be by my side, to back me up, and to support, love and appreciate me for who I am. Everything should be mutual when it comes to friends. It takes two to tango and it takes both to be the backbone that keeps the friendships up. Also, don’t trust people so quickly, don’t give in so easily. Ask yourself a few questions, will they be loyal to you? will they back you up? How will they treat you? Will they use you? Unfortunately in society these days, you need to double triple check before you make friends with people and this day in age, trust has become so rare and there are people of all walks of life. Do you really want to put yourself in a predicament of hanging out with someone who will back stab, betray and use you?

In this life we live in now, we need to analyze people very well before we give our all, before we share our most personal stories and our life’s journey with them. It does take time to get to know someone, and friendships and good friendships take time to build. So you build your trust in accordance to how someone is, their actions, words, kindness, their honesty, their loyalty and the way they are to you and how they treat you. When you are out with friends at a restaurant, take a good look and observe, if they are rude to the waiter or waitress, or if they are rude to any other person, it makes you think and question, will they be like that toward me? Will they burst at me like that someday? Actions do speak a lot louder than words and then words and action play hand in hand with each other.

We must open up our eyes a bit more, be more observant, and not to trust people so easily. Take your time to get to know someone before you give it your all. You will know the quality and the friends you have, by just the way they are, you will know what to do whether to pursue the friendship or not. Disrespectful people who do not know how good they have it and take advantage of ones goodness, good heart, and those who do not care, and those who use you, those who spread rumours and share whatever happens to the world, is not a true friend. Some people do not even know the definition of a friend and that is so unfortunate. Take your time, don’t rush into friendships so quickly because you will be burned if you don’t choose your friends wisely and you can be hurt. I do not want anybody hurt.

My family, friends, fans, readers and all my other supporters, I want the best for everyone, and I am speaking through experience. I’ve been burned so many times from fake people, I’ve been hurt so many times, but all it takes is opening up your eyes, being more assertive, being more aware, being more observant of people’s actions, eye language, facial reactions, body language and more. It is so important to take a look at all of that. It will save the hassle in the long run and it will make you decide if they are the right friends for you and if you should continue it or not. It all depends on a person’s personality and the type of friends to choose, but in the end look out for you. Don’t put everyone in one basket, balance it and don’t give in too quickly.

Just take your time. There is no rush to friendships. You will find the suitable people for you. It will take time and effort, but never ever think friendship will never happen for you. Just be patient and go with the flow.  You would not want to go through havoc and trouble. Just believe in yourself and know that there are types of people for you that are suitable. Just relax and take it easy. I’d rather have only a few friends I can trust, depend on and share stories and things with, rather than having hundreds, that will only be their part time and not full time. So just go with your gut instinct and I wish you all the best.

Kindness Always Matters In The World

Today, when I was out, I saw a quote that really hit me close to my heart and there are a few things I always believe in and to me they are the most important, but what strikes out is the one about kindness, and today’s quote I saw was “Kindness Matters”. It always does and its something I have always been taught since I was a child to always be kind to others, and always do great things and not expect anything in return. I truly believe that when you do kind things and be kind to others, it is something that God will see and you will be rewarded with great things in life and you will go places. I know sometimes that is hard to believe when you do good things for others, and sometimes they don’t appreciate it and you keep getting used and used like crazy, but always know that whatever you do, its something great that you have accomplished. In this world were only here for a limited time and the time spent on this earth is short lived, so live life wonderfully with being kind and fruitful. It is important to reach out without asking anything in return. All good deeds do not go unnoticed. You may feel it at times, but to be honest, it does not. God sees it, the Angels in heaven see it and you see it.

In the last couple of weeks, Bible Study started again at my Armenian Church and I am ever so grateful it started. It gives me an opportunity to go out and reflect amongst other people who attend the bible studies, and it gives me time to listen and interact with the priest and others about kindness, about the importance of being fruitful, and someone who reaches out to others. Bible studies teaches me a lot of things about life, the spiritual life, and about the modern society we all live in now, the priests tells us so many stories of his life, and what he’s encountered recently and he tells us things that empower me and probably to others as well. Kindness is something that I have always been fond of, and it is something that has embedded into my life and without the proper upbringing of my immediate family and relatives, and the community I live in, I wouldn’t be who I am today. I want to thank so many people in my life for giving me that poise and that life to get out there and do great things, attend bible studies, and attend important events and retreats that are educational to the mind, body, soul, spirit and the heart. It is important to cleanse our souls, to be kind, to be respectful to others.

No matter who anyone is, colour, race, ethnicity, orientation, big, small, tall, short, blonde hair, brown hair, black hair. I doesn’t matter. Were all one body and were all on this earth to serve a purpose in this life. We were all chosen and it doesn’t matter what you do, the ultimate thing that does matter in this world is kindness. Do it and you will be amazed on how it changes your life for the better. When you wake up every morning, Kindness should be on your agenda everyday. Use it and share it around. You will be surprised on how great your day will be. Have a wonderful day.

Social Media Awareness – T-H-I-N-K – The Acronym That Stood Out

In recent months I have been writing a lot about this subject about social media, and it is one of the biggest hot topics of this day in age and mostly everything is revolved around social media, promotions, advertising, and so much more that we make social media. Nowadays there are clever ways to advertise and get viewership rolling, making photo acronym’s and there are so many quotes out there that makes people think and social media is one of the biggest ones and all to do with success, business and so much more. Now, what stood out to me the most was this great acronym that says, THINK.

Now, before you Tweet, Facebook, Pin It, Tumblr It, text it, send photos, or do anything with Social Media think of this:

T – is it true?

H – is it helpful?
I – is it inspiring?
N – is it necessary?
K – is it kind?

We all want to protect our credibility, reputation and ourselves ultimately and this acronym is something that certain people should be reading and thinking about literally, and ultimately we are responsible for what we post because anybody on the internet can see it, and anybody who searches online for a certain word, phrase or something they can come to your site and you either gain fans or you do not. It all depends on how your portray yourself. It is important to think if it is kind and necessary to post. I feel that social media has gone way out of context of over sharing. How much is too much when it comes to sharing? I have seen twitter messages that people post when they have their bowel movements, they even post what they are doing 24 hours a day. I find that to be way too much information that does not need to be on the internet.

Now with our words are we really moving mountains? Are we inspiring people? Are we helping people in positive and great ways? Is something we post true? I think it is something that is up to us individually on what we want to post, but we should be cautious about what we post and the content. This acronym is something that really has been on my mind for quite some time now and it has put social media in my life into perspective, and it has given me so much inspiration and so much food for thought to share this acronym with those who may or may not have seen or heard about it before. Are we really hurting our future with the material and content we produce online? Remember what you post online is there forever and even if you delete and remove things, it will always be there on the internet database.

Are there things you have seen online that have been terrible and written, drawn, Photoshopped or created a terrible meme about other people? Have you seen blogs, comments, and websites that bully others? The internet can be a great place and sometimes the internet is not such a great place. Also not everything should be taken as a joke. There is a time and place for everything and there is a time for humour, a time for seriousness, but in the end everything has its limitations. It depends on individuals and how they utilize it. Being kind, helpful and inspiring is something that everyone should exercise in always doing. I know sometimes people may not be on the same page about a certain topic, people may not always agree on things, but there is always a pleasant way to handle it, and there are ways to approach things in a great and peaceful manner where then everything will be great in the end. Just simply say “I am going to have to disagree on that, this is how I think about something or this is my feeling or take on it”, or this is what I would have done differently or said something differently. There is no need to use vulgar, profane language to others, where it can be kind and dealt with in a civil manner.

This Acronym has put an everlasting thought in my mind and in my day-to-day blogging and social media life. Has it for you? What is your take on THINK? what is your opinion? I’d love to hear from you.

First Step Of Being Happy With Yourself, Is To Believe In Yourself

In Life there are several things we can do to better our lives, and the first step to being happy with yourself is to believe in yourself. Sometimes we all have those days where we are not good enough, or we sell ourselves short because something didn’t work out the way as planned, and we all go through those phases in our lives where we feel the need to put ourselves down and our confidence down because of what the next person has said to you or how the person has said it and were often feel inferior because of it, but in life there are going to be 2 types of people, people who will always criticize you and who will appreciate you and who will be someone who supports you, but never lose yourself over what other people say. It is you in the end who needs to believe in yourself and when you believe in yourself, that is all you need because in order to be happy with yourself and how you are, believing in yourself and your abilities is something a lot more special and great. We must always have faith in everything. I know sometimes we run out of faith, we run out of believing ourselves because something happened, but use whatever discouragement you had into encouragement and encourage yourself, and have self-confidence, that when the going gets tough, keep going and you will find yourself with the path to believing in yourself no matter what happens.

This world has become a tough battle to live in and we have so many personality traits, that we can tolerate and we cannot tolerate, but life is very beautiful and when you look past all the negativity this world has brought to you and when you look past on unfortunate situations, always know that you can be happy again, you can reach for the stars, but you cannot do that until you move forward with life and be happy individuals, live life to the fullest and get going onto bigger better things in life. Everything happens for a reason, everything in life has its purpose. We all in this world have our own paths to walk, we all have our own voyage and journey of how each and everyone of our life stories has an author and you are your own author of life. You need to make your life story and spread it around. Spread around believing in yourself, and then everyone else will follow. Do yourself a favour and spread around belief and make life beautiful for you and for others. Nothing is as special as that. I am sure all of us are criticized for everything no matter what we do. whether its good or bad, but of course we will be judged accordingly no matter what and some will talk when they have no idea of your situation. There are so many things to put into factor when you deal with people all the time, and when you have to make these vital decisions in life. Always know that I believe in you and you matter to the world, no matter how you come into this world. All the best and never stop your path to happy thoughts and beliefs.

What Traveling Means To Me. I am Glad I can Help People In It

Hello everyone, today I am going to talk to you about what traveling means to me and how vital it is in my life. I am sure most of us love to travel and go away from civilization and reality once in a while. I am here to tell you about what it means to me and how it has shaped my life. Traveling is one of the most incredible things of life. You get to see different parts of the world, form your own opinion, give it your rating, and each travel story is an experience in itself. Last night I was talking amongst friends on my travel experiences and giving them my expertise. One person has never been on a cruise ship before and has never cruised and so I introduced her to a new world full of cruising and traveling. I must have been talking for over half an hour. It is a passion of mine and I love talking to people about travel. She said that you are an expert. I was just happy and moved by what she said to me. It is amazing what traveling can do for you. It makes you feel more independent in a way, it gives you that push into the world to get out of the city once in a while and just explore the world before your eyes. Its one of the greatest pleasures of life. I am so happy to have experienced it all, and I will continue into my journey. I am creating a new blog all about traveling and everything else Which will launch at the end of January, 2013. I am so excited about the experience to help others in all forms of travel. People told me why don’t you become a travel consultant? Although I would love to but, this is my way of travel consultation. I will not have it as career, but people tell me otherwise.

They said Talin you would be incredible on it and you have so much knowledge than a travel agent does. They said its true, you know so much more than a travel agent does. When I heard this, I said no way, they said yes way. I love it, but I just love consulting people online and personally, but not as a job/career path. I like exploring and traveling has shaped me and my outlook on life. I have seen things and I have been to villages and countries where they are not doing so well, and they don’t make much money. Like Cuba one persons salary of the month is like 15-20 pesos, and the food they get is measured by the government, and so much more. I saw this happening years and years ago when I went to Cuba for the first time back in the 90′s. It gives me time to appreciate what I have and everything I have with grocery stores that are easily reached, good clean water to drink and so much more. I am thankful for everything I have here. I have seen the way people live, and one persons house is like 300-400 square feet, and some homes are like tool sheds and 4 people live in it. They also haven’t even seen a plane or the airport, and when we showed them the airplane and pictures of them and everything, they were so surprised and they were amazed at it. This is also one of the reasons why I love traveling. I meet all different types of people, different cultures, and people of every walks of life. I love it.

I look forward to my next adventures.

The Ikea Monkey – So Cute! I Can’t Get Enough Of Looking At His Pictures

Hello, I know I am super late by a week and a half with this story because I had done my recipes week the same time as when this story came about, but I am sure a lot of us have heard about the IKEA Monkey that was roaming in the Toronto Store, and how it managed to get himself out of his owners cage, car and get out to wander around the parking lot and almost managed to get inside the building when passerby’s saw the monkey with his cute little shearling coat. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I still cannot stop looking at his photos, and now its become a big internet sensation with people making memes, comics, and all sorts of things. A lot of talk show hosts are also talking about the IKEA Monkey, it made the international headline news, and it was basically what people were talking about for a week. Now probably it is still trending on twitter. Not even an hour into finding out about the monkey it was all over the internet. Now we learned of his name and he is called Darwin.

Darwin was taken away from his owner and that really is something not good. Now the owner is fighting to get her Monkey back and he is now in a sanctuary at a Story Book Farm. The police and animal services took him away. I just feel that he should go back to his owner who took care of him well until that day in IKEA where she went inside to shop and all of a sudden everyone sees this Monkey. I got to say it is adorable, and that coat is so lovely and stylish. Now I am sure a lot of people want a coat just like the monkey and I heard already that it will be 2013′s popular Costume for Halloween. I definitely want the same coat. Too cute! The way he was cozy and wearing a diaper. Just the cutest little thing. I saw a lot of twitter status messages how people want Darwin for Christmas, how they want to give up what they want just so they can have Darwin. This made a big impact on the advertising of IKEA too. Especially that special one in Toronto, where people will always remember the IKEA Monkey being in that store. I was so intrigued by the story, that I went to IKEA The very next day to look around and shop too. I said I hope we can find the IKEA Monkey, but too late. It was already sent to the sanctuary which I find to be very wrong. He should be with the person who raised him and who took care of him. There is this video and pictures of the IKEA monkey that is brushing his teeth with the owner. so cute!

I really hope the owner gets her Monkey back. She deserves to have him back. A lot of people want him back with his owner. Lets hope it happens.

The First Step Of Being Happy With Yourself, Is To Believe In Yourself

Kindness Always Matters In This World

Caught Someone Pretending To Talk On His Cell Phone Today

What a funny thing I witnessed today. I could not believe it with some people, I just couldn’t stop laughing. Today, I decided to go out to a coffee shop called Tim Horton’s and I ordered an Iced Latte. So I went and sat down. As I am drinking and relaxing for almost 10 minutes, I see this guy 2 tables down from me looking around and about, so 2 minutes later, he pulls out his phone and starts to talk, This ordinary guy, and so another 5 minutes goes by and he is still yapping on his phone about pointless stuff that makes him look ridiculous, then to his surprise, the phone rings twice while he is talking on his cell phone. The first person he saw was me and I looked at him and I shook my head and started to giggle. He felt so embarrassed and I can sort of tell, that he was pretending to talk on the phone. He just picked his Iced Cappuccino up and he left like no tomorrow humiliated .

Dude, if your going to pretend to talk with your cell phone, at least put it on silent. He had a blackberry same as Me and he is trying to show it off. I can’t believe it. So many people have phones these days and its not a rare occurrence.  He has to show off and try to look cool. I was sort of eavesdropping on his conversation because he was so close to me and I was alone having my Iced Latte, so he was going on about how his date was last night, how he had a blast, how he said Yeah I am going on a date with her again tonight, then a little bit of a pause to try and pretend that he is talking to someone else on the other side, and then he went on to talk again. I just laughed so hard. We didn’t say a word to each other after I caught him with his phone ringing loud by his ear.

Now, sometimes I wonder if people are actually talking on their cell phones in a public place, and I actually wonder if there is someone on the other line actually having conversations with these people. It’s happened again when I was flying to Vancouver, BC at the airport while waiting for my flight at the gates. This other guy was pretending to talk on his cell phone and it rang. This was at almost 8am in the morning just about to board my flight. It was so funny. I mean what do people gain by doing this stuff? It is beyond me. Maybe for self-satisfaction or something. I don’t know, but it is ridiculous and looks ridiculous.

Well, I am sure that guy today learned his lesson to never pretend to talk on a phone again. I sort of felt sorry for the guy, but it was a big time Epic Fail lol.

It Is Official. I Am Going To Write A Book!

Hi Everyone! Today I am announcing that I am going to be writing my first official book! I am still undecided about the title, but I know exactly what My book will entail. It will cover everything from how Social Networking, How the Internet is so powerful to transmitting information in seconds, to how blogging changed the face of journal writing and amongst communication of personal stories and reflections in the world and most importantly targeting on important issues such as bullying, social acceptance and other important issues pertaining to society. I am going to brain storm ideas on what to put for my title. That is a hard thing to decide, but I am sure it will come naturally to mind. I have a lot of thinking to do, but it is all for great reasons. I will then get it to a publisher, then have them look over it, and then when it gets published, I will then spread it out to Amazon and other book sites. I am very serious in writing this book. I will be doing extensive research within the next 2 weeks and I will get as much ideas as possible, then I am on my way to writing and publishing my book.

I will also be targeting on etiquette and all sorts of things. It won’t necessarily be a novel book, but a chapter book with different sections and different subjects. It will also include photos of me and my life growing up until the present.

Then hopefully I will have autograph book signings at bookstores and libraries across North America and the world. This book is very important to me. I do not just want to keep blogging, I want to take my blogging further and get published. I am not a person to write fiction. I like writing about personal and true stories that has happened to me, and that I have witnessed. Fiction is okay too, but it doesn’t give it that personal feeling as opposed to writing a true story. I am so excited! Hopefully if all goes well, I will have my first book written by 2013! :) — I am so happy! Today I decided! It is going to happen!
