It’s Impossible To Satisfy Everyone, and I Suggest We Stop Trying

Today just a few hours ago, I saw this quote on Facebook about how impossible it is to satisfy everyone, and It just made me think a lot about how I should stop trying and focus on doing what is best for me and to stop trying to satisfy each person, because that will never happen and there will be people who agree and disagree about everything in life. In the end you to do what is right for you, you have to do things that are to your benefit because in the end were all individuals and we all have to learn how to stand on our own two feet and take control over our lives, Yes opinions, suggestions, and ideas is what makes the world go around and it is good to learn from one another about success and among other things in life, but the ball is in your court. Will you always listen to everyone? Or will you learn to listen to yourself and what is in your heart to do the right thing? Yes it is important to listen and to get advice from people and I am not up for debates on that. That is the way things are supposed to be, but there will come a time where you will need to make decisions all on your own without people always intervening with you.

There are so many things that is impossible to satisfy others such as, The type of wedding you have, the type of home, home decor, home colours, the car you have, the parties, functions, and everything people have, but one must know it is someone trying to stay in their budget, no matter how extravagant or how simple things can be, it is all in the terms of preference, and each person has their own taste and their own perspectives on how they want something to be. We cannot discriminate and complain about how another person chooses to do their parties, functions, and even to their style of furniture, colour and everything else, because it is their space and their home. Everyone is entitled to have a space of their own and create it the way they want to without be pestered all the time. There is a fine line to stop trying to impress people a lot and start focusing on what is important and what makes you happy to want to do what you want to do and it is important to have people’s support, and to be happy for you. You are not going to a wedding for the decorations, for the food, for the ambiance, your going to a wedding for the couple that just went into marriage hood, you go to rekindle with others and meet people, you go to events to socialize and be social, not for the material side of things. If that is the way they want to do it, then set them free and be satisfied, but then again someone people will not agree to what I am saying either and that is fine.

I have learned to take criticism and constructive criticism, and I value everyone’s opinions, good or bad, because that is a queue to make vast improvements, to better yourself in things, to improve on lifestyle, to improve on so many things in life. I believe that each and everyone of us needs criticism once in a while, but then again not everyone will agree with that, but that is how the world goes around. If everyone thought the same and if everyone had the same perspectives on life and the way things are supposed to be, then we would be living in a really boring world and there won’t be anything new. It will just be the same things over and over again and we won’t meet new people, all we would meet is the same type of personalities and the same type of opinionated people. Yes it is important to have good personality traits, it is important to make good choices in life, but in the end everything is up to you, but it won’t hurt if you listen to others once in a while. Enjoy your life and do things that will satisfy you, not others unless it is your immediate family. Be you and the rest will follow. All the best!

Happy Mothers Day To All Mothers and Future Mothers To Be.

Hello everyone,

Today, I want to wish all mothers of the world a very happy mothers day, I wish you all the best, health, happiness, goodness and all great things of life. Our Mothers sacrifice and do so much for us. They are our guidance counselor, give advice, nurture, raise,  doctors, nurses, cook, cleaner, driver, sending us to school, going grocery shopping, putting a roof over our heads, filling our empty stomach when we are hungry, and they do so much more. The list is endless and one of the toughest jobs to do in the world. Not only should today be considered mothers day. It should be everyday. Mothers need to be celebrated everyday. They do so much for us, they carried us in their body for 9 months, and went through so much to get us here. My mom is my rock and my everything. We shouldn’t just celebrate what they do for us, but how and who they are is important too.

I want to send thoughts and prayers to all mothers who are no longer physically with us on earth and some did not even get a chance to meet their mothers, some didn’t get to enjoy their mothers, unfortunately, but they are with you in spirit and in your hearts and your lives forever. That will never change. Just because someone is not there with you physically, it doesn’t mean they are not there. They will always watch over you and they will always be your mother no matter what.

It is really not about materialism and everything that our mom’s want from us on Mothers day, its really about our well-being and about what we do, the life choices we make, the decisions we make in life and who we become. Mom’s always worry about their children, it is a fact, and our mothers want nothing but the best for us and to make sure we are safe, happy and how we get through life.

So lets celebrate our mothers no matter if they are still here with us or have departed. Lets get together today and celebrate our beautiful moms. What are you going to do or already did for your mother today? What are your traditions every year to celebrate with your mom? Have a beautiful day everyone.

Had A Great Birthday Yesterday – Thank You For The Wishes

for 28 years now on April 30th, I celebrate my birthday. I am so happy and glad for all my birthdays and I am ever so grateful to God for giving me this life and I thank my parents for bringing me into this world and to experience everything I have experienced in my life, with traveling to many places, for giving me everything, a roof over my head, a nice warm bed to sleep in, food to eat and so much more. I am so thankful for everything as I look around the world and people do not even have running water to drink and bathe from. I am so fortunate and I have learned not to take anything from granted in my life.

There were times where some of my birthdays did not go as well as I had hoped for. Once in high school when I turned 16 years old, I had invited about 30 people to come over to my house for my sweet 16 birthday party and it was one of the most embarrassing yet humiliating things in my life where only one person showed up out of all the others. I was thinking they were my friends and everything but they really weren’t. I was devastated that I could not have a sweet 16 party, and also I never knew what it felt like to have a surprise birthday party or even had a big party to celebrate me and my day. I never knew what that feeling was like. I didn’t even know the feeling of when I turned 20, 21 years old where I would have a great party, but I did go to Montreal for my birthdays quite a lot in my early 20′s and to get away from things and to enjoy a dance club here and there with my friends in Montreal. The only parties I have ever had was when I was a kid where a lot of my family came over to celebrate and that is about it. To me The gifts weren’t important, but being with my family and couple of friends is what I want.

I know parties should not matter and everything, but in my case it does. In my early adult life and as an adult now, I want to be able to know what it feels like to have a party. I know that I can create my own party and have people over and stuff and go out but I just get those bad memories again when I was 16 years old. I really never had a lot of friends to begin with and I invited all those people and never showed up except for one. I was crushed and cried for days. I just want to know what it feels like to have a party and its all about me and having people around me that has come to celebrate me. I am hoping that will happen soon. I sometimes feel so isolated and they are feelings that I never want to get back. Nowadays everything is great. My beautiful friends took me out for my birthday over the weekend and surprised me with a cake which was so sweet of them. I will never forget that.

What have you experienced in the past about your birthday? Did you have a birthday that was a blast or not such a blast?

Anyways, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family, friends and fans for all the birthday wishes, the phone calls, text messages, e-mails, facebook messages, the birthday cards, the birthday e-greetings, virtual cakes, flowers and everything. I really appreciate it so much from the bottom of my heart. I love you all!

A Clean House Is A Happy Talin – I Love Cooking & Cleaning

For several years now since I was a little kid, I have always had this eye for organization, wanting to learn new things, cooking, and how to clean efficiently and among everything else. I learned how to cook since I was 8 years old, and I started to clean and tidy up when I was 4 years old. My mom and dad always taught me the importance of cleanliness, organization and neatness so that when I want to look for something it will be easy to find when things are organized and neat. Now that I am almost 28 years old 7 days from now, All those skills and things I experienced is something that my mom tells me that you clean better than I do now, and your always finding new things to do in the house, how to organize, and everything better than I do. I said I only learned from the best and when I have my own home one day, you will be happy with what I am going to do with it. My mom has looked after me all these years for the past so many years now I keep telling my mom to relax and put her feet up, I will do the cooking and stuff. I love to cook a lot. It takes a lot of my stress out and I enjoy doing these things, and looking after the house. I find complete joy when I do. My parents really appreciate all that I do and to make sure the house is in tip top shape.

Every person we have who come over, they say this place is so spotless and so clean. Everything is well maintained. I said thank you. To me it is important to keep my place clean and tidy and up to date. I like to hear compliments and leave a great impression on family and guests who come over and I don’t like to hear that this persons place is so filthy and they don’t know how to clean a house. I don’t like hearing those things, so I like to maintain my house every 2 or 3 days, but the kitchen area I always maintain everyday, clean out the fridge, and never leave dishes in the sink and I always wash them, dry them and put them away, wash down the counter tops and kitchen table with vinegar and water, and clean my floors with vinegar and water. I don’t use other chemicals for my home. The house does smell like a salad for a couple of hours, but it shines and cleans it right down. Oh happy joy joy. I get so excited when it comes to cleaning. I know you must say this woman is crazy, but it fills my day with joyfulness.

I have so much to do everyday. There aren’t enough hours in the day. I love doing laundry too and the smell of the laundry detergent is so great. I love the smell of it, and folding my laundry after is something I enjoy too. When I put laundry away, I co-ordinate by colour too so as I know what I have and don’t have. I designate a day in the week to do Laundry, to vacuum, to mop the floors, but I usually do all the floor work in one day. I have a central vac in the house so I never sweep my floors anymore. I only vacuum and then I mop after. Its so much easier without dust and stuff going all around with the broom. You just vacuum and its done in less time.

Do you like to clean, cook and do you find joy in doing housework? What does a clean house mean to you?

Would love to hear from you.

Happy Easter Everyone! Wishing You The Best

Hello everyone, I am going to keep this short and sweet today as Today for some people it is Easter and I’d like to wish you all a happy Easter and wish you all the best. Many blessings to all of you. Thank you for your continued support in reading, and engaging into my blog. It is much appreciated. What are your Easter traditions? What do you cook for Easter? Is there anything in Particular that you and your friends or family do during Easter time? In My Family we get together for dinner, then we have egg cracking contests, distribute Chocolate, and then we usually pray and Thank the Lord for all that he has done for us.

Remember, it is not just about the Chocolates, Bunny Rabbits, Eggs, and the Pretty colours of Easter, it is about our Jesus Christ who sacrificed his life for us all and his love for us and he was crucified on the Cross. Today, Jesus Rose, and he is watching for all of us, but Easter may mean different things to different people and that is all okay too. What are you most Thankful for when it comes to Easter time? Being with Family and Friends is the most important and coming together during days like this is something great. It should always be that way right?

Well, I am going to keep this short today, so I wish you all the best and have a blessed and joyful day.

Spring Is Almost Here! Excited For That. Are You?

After the many months of winter, this is the moment I always wait for, I really like this time of year when it becomes Mid March, I really enjoy it when our weather gets warmer, and when the winter is behind us in a way and almost time when the trees start growing its leaves again, when the grass gets greener, the roads are washing away from the salt and snow, when everywhere gets thawed out, mild temperatures start and increase by day, when the flowers start to grow again, colour and life comes back after the cold, dark, wintry days, the tulip and other spring  flowers blooming, the spring air and smell of mud, dandelions start to grow, the smell of top soil, garden centers open, outdoor furniture, barbecues, outdoor equipment starts coming back into the stores, spring colours, clothing and bright vibrant colours come back on our store shelves,  the sunlight shines, birds start chirping, animals come out of hibernation, the geese fly back north. I just love this time of year when life comes back. I am so tired of winter, snow and having to bundle up every time I go out. I’d love to go somewhere for 5-6 months of the year and not see snow and be part of the cold freezing weather and not wear layers outside.

I also like spring because it gives me a time to wash the cars and I love washing my car, washing the car mats, detailing and getting rid of the winters salt and sand they put on the streets, and taking care of it. I also like to wash out my driveway and clean up my garage, having to put the shovels away, and just enjoying the whole process of getting rid of winter. It is my favourite.  I am a person who loves vibrant colours, who loves warmer weather, the beautiful sun shining, and among when the days get longer. I really didn’t enjoy when the days get shorter and it would be dark before 5pm. I really enjoy it when time and daylight time increases. In June and July it is still sunlight after  8:30 and you would still see a bit of light after 9pm too. those are the days I love, plus you don’t feel that the night is dragging on so long and plus it gets brighter earlier in the morning and its so refreshing and you start your day earlier and you appreciate the daylight and days. I also like getting rid of the boots and jackets I wear and pack them up for 5-6 months of the year.

I really enjoy sitting on the patio, I like driving with my windows down, listening to vibrant music, going camping, and I enjoy leisure time away too.

What season do you like? Do you also enjoy spring and summer months? What do you mostly enjoy when the weather starts getting warmer? What activities do you like doing outdoors? Would love to hear form you. Happy Spring!

Taking Everything Step By Step To The Top Of The Ladder.

In Life, I strongly believe that when we work hard and to get to where we want to be in life, we must take things step by step to get to the top of the ladder. There is no such thing as starting from the top. Learning the tricks of the trade and doing the best we can in life is what is important. Some of us may not succeed in the beginning, but never give up because you failed, keep doing it and you will see positive and really great results. Put it in your mind that you will do this, talk to yourself, and look at yourself in the mirror every morning and think to yourself, for example: Hi Good morning, My Name is Talin, I am going to do something positive and learn something new today and do the best of my ability and not leave things to do today. I will not leave things for tomorrow, because tomorrow you never know what it brings. when you have the opportunity to do something today, do not leave it for tomorrow. Prioritize your life. what is important first, then you do everything else after. Everything in life takes steps, and sometimes we need to take a few steps back in order to move forward. How will you know when you don’t try? We can’t just take the easy way out and say I give up, I can’t do this. That is not a good way to approach life, and that is a recipe of failure. Giving up and saying I can’t do it. Snap out of that phase and take a look at yourself. You can do everything and anything you want to do. Just keep going and doing something that will benefit you. Why put yourself in that predicament? Why make yourself depressed and put yourself down?

Yes things happen sometimes that are not in our control and things can happen that may prevent us from moving forward to success, but do not let those obstacles get in the way of where you want to be in life. take sometime for yourself, think about what you want to do in life, and spend some quality alone time with you and just brainstorm ideas without disturbance. make a list of things you want to do in your life, whether its traveling to your favourite places, whether its something you want to do with your home, or something for others, helping yourself, helping others. make a positive list and jot down all the ideas you have and things you want to accomplish and put it somewhere in your house where you will constantly see it and go from there. Nothing is more incredible than setting positive goals which can help us in the long run. So think about it and go with the flow.

You can do it, you just have to discipline yourself and snap out of negative thoughts. When negativity takes over, things become dull in life. Don’t do that to yourself. Get up stand up, take can control of your life and don’t give energy to things that don’t matter. That Ladder is not going to climb itself. :) So get on it! get into the groove! Love yourself and do good things for yourself. You will see the big change in your life. Just do it! All the best to you! You have my support and encouragement.

Armenian Christmas Is Today – Merry Christmas!

Armenia

Armenians celebrate Christmas (surb tsnunt, Սուրբ Ծնունդ, meaning “saint birth”) on January 6 as a public holiday in Armenia. It also coincides with the Epiphany. Traditionally, Armenians fast during the week leading up to Christmas. Devout Armenians may even refrain from food for the three days leading up to the Christmas Eve, in order to receive the Eucharist on a “pure” stomach. Christmas Eve is particularly rich in traditions. Families gather for the Christmas Eve dinner (khetum, Խթում), which generally consists of: rice, fish, nevik (նուիկ, a vegetable dish of green chard and chick peas), and yogurt/wheat soup (tanabur, թանապուր). Dessert includes dried fruits and nuts, including rojik, which consists of whole shelled walnuts threaded on a string and encased in grape jelly, bastukh (a paper-like confection of grape jelly, cornstarch, and flour), etc. This lighter menu is designed to ease the stomach off the week-long fast and prepare it for the rather more substantial Christmas Day dinner. Children take presents of fruits, nuts, and other candies to older relatives.

It is frequently asked as to why Armenians do not celebrate Christmas on December 25 with the rest of the world. Obviously, the exact date of Christ’s birth has not been historically established—it is not recorded in the Gospels. However, historically, all Christian churches celebrated Christ’s birth on January 6 until the fourth century. According to Roman Catholic sources, the date was changed from January 6 to December 25 in order to override a pagan feast dedicated to the birth of the Sun which was celebrated on December 25. At the time Christians used to continue their observance of these pagan festivities. In order to undermine and subdue this pagan practice, the church hierarchy designated December 25 as the official date of Christmas and January 6 as the feast of Epiphany. However, Armenia was not affected by this change for the simple fact that there were no such pagan practices in Armenia, on that date, and the fact that the Armenian Church was not a satellite of the Roman Church. Thus, remaining faithful to the traditions of their forefathers, Armenians have continued to celebrate Christmas on January 6 until today.[42]

In addition to the Christmas tree (tonatsar, Տօնածառ), Armenians (particularly in the Middle East) also erect the Nativity scene. Christmas in the Armenian tradition is a purely religious affair. Santa Claus does not visit the nice Armenian children on Christmas, but rather on New Year’s Eve. The idea of Santa Claus existed before the Soviet Union and he was named kaghand papik (Կաղանդ Պապիկ), but the Soviet Union had a great impact even on Santa Claus. Now he goes by the more secular name of Grandfather Winter (dzmerr papik, Ձմեռ Պապիկ).

Feeling A Little Under The Weather – The Joys of What Winter Brings

This weekend, I have been feeling a little under the weather. It’s been over 2 and a half years I haven’t got sick with sore throat, sniffles, sneezing and everything to do with a cold. I guess its back with a vengeance. I am feeling so awful. I need some good honey lemon tea, lots of fluids, and Buckley’s that will help me and my cold. I can’t believe I got sick like this before New Years Eve. Well, this year I am staying home anyway, but it is taking a toll on me. for 2 and a half years not being sick. I am going crazy. What are some cures for a cold to go away quickly? The joys of winter huh? I don’t know how some people like this crazy. It is crazy. I mean I bundle up, Wash my hands a lot per day, and make sure that I protect myself, but I guess its come to a point where it needs to fight me back. This cold is so brutal. It is definitely in the air somewhere. I just want this winter to be over with. I am already so tired of it. I need to relax today and take it easy and get better quick. I cannot be sick. I have deadlines to meet and can hardly concentrate, but I think its a way for my body to tell me to get some rest and just take care of myself. I know the common cold can strike at anytime, but mostly winter and notice how on tv during winter they have cold medicine commercials? Hardly in the summertime. Anyway, I am going to keep this short today and focus on getting better so that I can function for later. Have a great happy new year everyone and enjoy your festivities for ringing in 2013. All the best to everyone!

I Have Never Liked Snow, and Never Will

This morning, I woke up to the sight of snow all over the place and it was our very first snowfall and snow storm that already blanketed everywhere. I really do not like winter at all. I really did not miss snow at all. Some people have asked me and said, but Talin you live in Canada your from Canada, how can you not like snow? I said not everyone who lives in Canada like it. Some do, but I really don’t. It makes the roads messy, makes driving unsafe, and among so many things that snow can do. I have never liked it. Even when I was a little kid. I was never a fan of snow. In the Winter time I like to get away from all this cold and snow. We usually travel to sun and tropical destinations during the winter months. It really doesn’t make sense to go to a sun destination in the summer time or in the spring. So that way you can get away from the winter for a week or 2. It really sucks having a big driveway during times like this, or your going to have to buy a snow blower or get someone to shovel it. I cannot shovel snow. I have a bad back, and I do not want to injure myself with shoveling that stuff. It looks like it is quite a bit on there. Plus you have to clean off your car, make sure you have snow tires, and everything. Its all a big huge mess. Plus everywhere is slushy, wet, and all that salt they put and then all this white stuff get on your car. No thank you. This is not my season. I can’t wait until March. One snow storm is enough. I cannot take anymore of it. LOL I really detest snow as you can tell.

If you live in an area where snow comes and when in winter, take it easy on the roads, give yourself more time and make wise decisions before stepping out of your home. Is it necessary? Do I really have to go out? Is it very important? Unless your going to work, school or something really important, then that is fine, but if your going to go out for the sake of going out, do yourself a favour, don’t risk it. I know winter just started and it will get worse and it will be colder, and freeze, but I do not want to risk it. Who else doesn’t like snow?

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Everyone!

Hello everyone, I would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Joyous Healthy Happy New Year! Enjoy the holidays.

Can you believe how close we are to having a brand new year? It is crazy how time flew by us. Enjoy every moment of it and don’t take anytime for granted, as time doesn’t wait for you. This past year has taught me a lot about everything and as I age, there is just so much more to discover about life and what and how to handle certain situations. Every passing year I learn so much more about life, about people, about personalities, about what matters most in life, what I can do to better myself, what to do when things get tough, getting more life experience, there is just so much to learn. No matter what age you are, you are always learning. Every passing year is an interesting year with things that go right, that go wrong, things that make us realize things, learning new things, going into new adventures. Life is an adventure and it us up to us individually about how to handle it and how to go through life. We all do things we are not proud of, and we all make mistakes, but we must learn not to make the same mistake twice. Sometimes it can happen, but don’t ever give up your ways and the way to live life the way it is meant to be lived on your standards and the way you want to live your life, but go to the right path on life and do things that will benefit you and that will make you grow not just with age, but everything else. Age is nothing but a number. It all depends and what really matters is the way you feel, is the way you think about things and do things.

I love this time of year, because it makes me think and reflect on the past year. whether its unfortunate or fortunate, and happy or sad, and I always think about what I went through this year, what challenges I faced, what I thought about, where I traveled, how I went through certain situations, hanging out with loved ones, blogging, going on the computer to do my work, helping people out, and so much. Life is wonderful. It could be wonderful just on how we look at life and what we could do to make it wonderful and great. Have a wonderful holiday everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy 2013!

The Ikea Monkey – So Cute! I Can’t Get Enough Of Looking At His Pictures

Hello, I know I am super late by a week and a half with this story because I had done my recipes week the same time as when this story came about, but I am sure a lot of us have heard about the IKEA Monkey that was roaming in the Toronto Store, and how it managed to get himself out of his owners cage, car and get out to wander around the parking lot and almost managed to get inside the building when passerby’s saw the monkey with his cute little shearling coat. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I still cannot stop looking at his photos, and now its become a big internet sensation with people making memes, comics, and all sorts of things. A lot of talk show hosts are also talking about the IKEA Monkey, it made the international headline news, and it was basically what people were talking about for a week. Now probably it is still trending on twitter. Not even an hour into finding out about the monkey it was all over the internet. Now we learned of his name and he is called Darwin.

Darwin was taken away from his owner and that really is something not good. Now the owner is fighting to get her Monkey back and he is now in a sanctuary at a Story Book Farm. The police and animal services took him away. I just feel that he should go back to his owner who took care of him well until that day in IKEA where she went inside to shop and all of a sudden everyone sees this Monkey. I got to say it is adorable, and that coat is so lovely and stylish. Now I am sure a lot of people want a coat just like the monkey and I heard already that it will be 2013′s popular Costume for Halloween. I definitely want the same coat. Too cute! The way he was cozy and wearing a diaper. Just the cutest little thing. I saw a lot of twitter status messages how people want Darwin for Christmas, how they want to give up what they want just so they can have Darwin. This made a big impact on the advertising of IKEA too. Especially that special one in Toronto, where people will always remember the IKEA Monkey being in that store. I was so intrigued by the story, that I went to IKEA The very next day to look around and shop too. I said I hope we can find the IKEA Monkey, but too late. It was already sent to the sanctuary which I find to be very wrong. He should be with the person who raised him and who took care of him. There is this video and pictures of the IKEA monkey that is brushing his teeth with the owner. so cute!

I really hope the owner gets her Monkey back. She deserves to have him back. A lot of people want him back with his owner. Lets hope it happens.

Nothing Like Organization, Neatness, & Cleanliness

Since I was a child, I have always learned the importance of organization, neatness and cleanliness. I do not like things out of place, and I even fold my clothes, and hang my clothes according to colour and type of clothing it is. I make filing systems for all my things, I organize my things with the new modern looking storage boxes, dividers, drawer organizers, pen, staple, scissor holders, plastic drawers, I clean all the dust at least twice a week, regular washroom maintenance every other day. I really enjoy cleaning the house, and cleaning my own space and being neat, vacuuming, washing dishes, doing laundry, washing sheets and towels weekly, folding laundry, cooking, mopping and washing the floors. I really enjoy doing it. I know some people don’t, but it is fun when you make it fun. I listen to music, think of happy thoughts, and just going through a fun time. I just love being organized too so that I know where everything is in the house, so that if I am looking for something, I know exactly where to find it and I don’t have to spend hours just looking for something. I remember when I was in my teens, and a few people came over to my house, and I remember them saying, your home is spotless, and I said thank you so much. It felt good when others notice that instantly when they come over. When you least expect it, people can come over to my place, so I like to upkeep it all the time and even if people don’t come over, it will be a clean house to live in and being proud of it being clean and tidy. I usually use vinegar and water most of the time to mop the floors, clean surfaces, and then the whole places smells like a salad for a couple of hours and then it goes back to normal.  I don’t use harsh chemicals that are bad, I use natural cleaners like vinegar and water. It is the best form of cleaning ever. It is exciting to me and I find to be so awesome to clean and to know that my house is in tip top shape. I love it
