Reading Reviews Online – Some Can Be True or False

Do you often read reviews and do your research online before you travel, buy products, call a certain service company, and other goods and services? Nowadays there are people who plague the internet with fake reviews and falsifying information with different usernames and post reviews from unknown areas, and we should be careful when reading reviews. Some people get paid to write them, some people who have never even traveled or experienced a product or something, they try to find review sites and go with what other people are saying and they do research online before writing a review and some are so good with their craft of fooling people who you do not know the difference between fake or real.

There are ways to detect a fake review. If people exaggerate too much, drag on, and come up with very strange usernames and the way people write. You have to really read between the lines. To me personally I do not trust online reviews and I barely and rarely even read them, why? because in the end everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I would rather go experience something on my own or when I buy a product to experience it and to try it for myself. If I am going to listen to every person, and read all these reviews, I won’t go anywhere, I won’t try anything. It is so important to try to stay away from reviews. You don’t know if you are reading a real or fake one. Some you cannot even detect on it because they wrote it so well. Some get paid and some go over the top because they are asked to. Some are so good at what they do and they persuade you so much, and do you often read online testimonials? A lot of these reviews come from a lot of researchers online, there are people who do all sorts of things to get some money, but I think it is wrong to give false reviews, and praising companies that should not even exist, and praising and giving a good name to places that should not even be in our world, but they are and they fool people with false advertising.

Be Patient With Social Media & Networking – It Takes Time & Dedication

In this new generation and in time of social media and networking with this new age in Internet communications technology with information being transmitted in seconds all over the world with so many types of gadgets and electronic devices, I am sure business people, bloggers, advertisers, designers, web designers, those seeking employment, social marketing, promoters feel the pressure of so much competition going on around them with networking and all the time spent with promotions, making a living with billions of people on the world wide web, and As I am sure my fellow bloggers and I feel the pressure all the time. It is an interesting time we live in these days with everything simplified for us and how incredible time has changed with the new age in technology. Now although most companies want you to send an electronic mail resume and cover letter to the employer and sometimes you wonder are they deleting it or are they really reading the resume and cover letter? There maybe 200 applicants for that position. Nowadays it’s become so hard to seek employment because so many people are seeking the same things. Its become such a stressful time, but I believe that patience and getting the right networking and knowing the right people will get you there. Unfortunately it is like that now. It is not a matter of what you know anymore, it is who you know in that company or a referral.

It is just like the way it takes time to build your online profile, sometimes it takes less. It depends on how you promote yourself and how you portray yourself. It takes a lot of patience, determination, dedication to get on up there. The internet has many people, and if social networking, marketing, promotions, writing, blogging, and being a guest blogger for any company or anyone, and if it is your calling, do it, and charge people with a decent amount and do research on how much you should charge for your services, and if you are good at what you do, and how you do it, they will hire you, no problem. Hey, were all great at doing something in the world, and it is important to get yourself out there and not be afraid of taking chances and doing the best of your ability, Creating an online profile for yourself is great, a portfolio is great so that you can share your accomplishments, and when people give you blogging awards, inspirational awards, and if you are on so many peoples blog sites with ping backs, link backs, these are all a plus and when you include all this in your page, you will be praised and you will go to great lengths.

In recent weeks, I have been more interactive with my fans, and those who come to my blog and I try to reply to as many comments as I am able to. I love visiting other peoples blogs, and give them a boost. I know some people struggle to get people to come to their blogs to read what is happening in their world and what they are up to and among writing for a living and making something out of themselves. It takes a long time and I do feel what they are feeling. I started blogging in another blog provider on Google, and I was not getting anywhere and in one year I had about 5000 people only visiting my site and I felt like I was getting no where. My friend suggested WordPress and I said, let me make an account there and in no time at all, the stats kept increasing and when I began to write more and make more content, things just took off from there. I know some of my blogs require improvement on my writing style, and little bit of the grammar, but I am learning and It is never too late to learn. Social Networking is such a great tool and it will take time and effort, but working at it hard will get you to places, you wouldn’t even imagine.

Maintaining your blog, and maintaining your social networking profiles with new content, and also when you create a twitter account and know how to tweet, you will see a big difference and you will see many people and companies starting to follow you. When you are on Facebook, be mindful to know what your posting and how you are posting it. It is good to keep your standards and everything about you high. Keep your head up high, and do not write so many negative status messages and negative quotes as people pick up on it and they wouldn’t want to engage and be interested with someone who is always bringing themselves down. Bring yourself up, and always write about positivity, determination and things you are good at, and qualities that you have. It is important to put yourself out there with the right attitude, enthusiasm and mean what you say when you write positivity and when you say nice things and be kind to others, and make yourself and your reputation high, the sky is the limit and you will have so many offers and so many opportunities knocking, but it all starts with the way you portray your character and your willingness to try and do your best. You can do it, and will see how you will improve.

How you social network and how you deal with situations online will always be something people will remember and don’t be afraid to put your name out there, because your social networking profile will be like your business card and its important to put a nice and professional photo of yourself or a nice photo of you everywhere and keep that trend going. There are many websites such as facebook, twitter, pinterest, YouTube, linkedin, myspace, and more websites that will make it easy for you, but it is all up to you and in your hands on how you deal with the way you handle yourself online. When your a blogger and when your a dedicated blogger, and want to excel and do your best, engage with other authors and those who have published books in the past and contact them and ask them how its done and what is involved. The internet is the biggest research hub of the world. You can find all the tips and tricks and contact information to people. You will be amazed.

What Is Social Media To You? What Is Social Media To Me?

In this day in age and in modern society, social media is at an all time high. Most of us in the world are connected through some social media website whether its twitter, Facebook, pinterest, tumblr, WordPress, Google+, Blogger, Blogspot, MySpace, Hi5, and so many more websites out there to cater our social media, communications needs. Now social media can be used to boost business, advertising ones self, giving tips, advising people, about a hobby, society, issues, subjects, technology, and so much more. We are all in an interface of social media in some form or another. E-mail is also a part of social media.

Now, what does social media mean to me? Well, social media to me means that I can share myself with the world, that I can give my points of views about certain topics and things that happen in the world, also about targeting important subjects leading to prevention of bullying, as well as other social issues that I need to address too. Were all on a social media front and it all depends on a persons individuality, feelings, freedom of expression on certain subjects, among everything else. To me, social media is such a great tool to have. You never know who might pop by your blog, you never know who is viewing your blog and it is always a mystery and if someone from a big company or somewhere sees the great work and time you put into something and if somebody sees something interesting, they will contact you to talk about it or offer you something so incredible. It’s happened to me numerous times. I love expressing myself and social media has given me such a boost to do it.

I am not afraid to share and give out my opinions as everyone is entitled to their own opinions and people should not be penalized for it, and its great to see people share different points of views on certain subjects that can be relative to them or just simply just discussing it. I love social media because I get to meet some really great people and I get to interact with so many different types of people all at once. Its incredible how social media has boomed especially the last 5-10 years. Social media sites began as far as Asian Avenue, Migente, Black Planet, Hi5, MySpace, Geocities from Yahoo, and so many other websites I can remember from back in the day and now Facebook and Twitter are on the rise. It is incredible how social media changes. Social media always has its ups and downs, but in the end were all in it, and social media is defined in so many ways and it depends on individuality on what it means to someone.

Now its all comes down to you, what does social media mean to you? What do you use it for? for communicating with loved ones? Finding different opinions from others? looking at pictures, finding information, learning, Interacting on the internet and constantly being updated with news? The Ikea Monkey – So Cute! I Can’t Get Enough Of Looking At His Pictures

Hello, I know I am super late by a week and a half with this story because I had done my recipes week the same time as when this story came about, but I am sure a lot of us have heard about the IKEA Monkey that was roaming in the Toronto Store, and how it managed to get himself out of his owners cage, car and get out to wander around the parking lot and almost managed to get inside the building when passerby’s saw the monkey with his cute little shearling coat. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I still cannot stop looking at his photos, and now its become a big internet sensation with people making memes, comics, and all sorts of things. A lot of talk show hosts are also talking about the IKEA Monkey, it made the international headline news, and it was basically what people were talking about for a week. Now probably it is still trending on twitter. Not even an hour into finding out about the monkey it was all over the internet. Now we learned of his name and he is called Darwin.

Darwin was taken away from his owner and that really is something not good. Now the owner is fighting to get her Monkey back and he is now in a sanctuary at a Story Book Farm. The police and animal services took him away. I just feel that he should go back to his owner who took care of him well until that day in IKEA where she went inside to shop and all of a sudden everyone sees this Monkey. I got to say it is adorable, and that coat is so lovely and stylish. Now I am sure a lot of people want a coat just like the monkey and I heard already that it will be 2013′s popular Costume for Halloween. I definitely want the same coat. Too cute! The way he was cozy and wearing a diaper. Just the cutest little thing. I saw a lot of twitter status messages how people want Darwin for Christmas, how they want to give up what they want just so they can have Darwin. This made a big impact on the advertising of IKEA too. Especially that special one in Toronto, where people will always remember the IKEA Monkey being in that store. I was so intrigued by the story, that I went to IKEA The very next day to look around and shop too. I said I hope we can find the IKEA Monkey, but too late. It was already sent to the sanctuary which I find to be very wrong. He should be with the person who raised him and who took care of him. There is this video and pictures of the IKEA monkey that is brushing his teeth with the owner. so cute!

I really hope the owner gets her Monkey back. She deserves to have him back. A lot of people want him back with his owner. Lets hope it happens.

I Have Finally Found My Calling – I Feel Like Celebrating & Enjoying The Moment

Today is the day I feel like celebrating and sharing my excitement with the world, There is so much I want to celebrate about and so much that I need to share with everyone. I am very happy and excited to announce that I have finally found my calling in terms of a career path and in terms of something that I thoroughly enjoy doing. It is something that I discovered since I started my world in social media, advertising, social networking, and blogging. Although My passions are about traveling, cooking and driving, and those are things I enjoy, but My calling is all about the social media, internet, social networking and blogging genres and fields. So many people have sent me personal e-mails from friends, family, fans, and everyone else who truly believes in me, I received an e-mail today which was so touching to me and it was one of the greatest e-mails ever when I opened up my inbox. This is the e-mail I received from one of my great friends from another city. I will keep her name anonymous, but this is what it said:

Dear Talin,

Since the beginning when I have subscribed to your blog, and have been following your social media path, you are such a beautiful person inside and out, you are not afraid to share with the world who you are, what you do, and your writings are wonderful, and I truly believe that this is your calling and your ultimate talent. Talin, we all have talent, we all come to this world with a strength, and God has chosen you to make a living and a career out of social media, marketing, and being a positive and influencing person in so many peoples lives. I see you have made quite a vast difference and impact in so many peoples lives, you have touched many hearts, you have that poise to inspire so many with your words. We need more people like you in this world, we need people like you in this generation of social media and communications as you are doing an excellent job in providing so much and I can see that you have dedicated a big portion of your life to blogging, and I think you found your niche. This was a sweet e-mail and I really cried up a storm of happy tears when I read this today. I have so much to give to society, and this realm of internet technology and more. I am not afraid of sharing, and it is a world I love, and its something that I see in other people when they give me reviews about me and what I love doing. I am doing this for myself, not because another person is telling me to do it. I believe in myself and I know that I will persevere and reach for the tops. I know it takes time and effort and finding the right connections, but I feel like my calling is now and I am not wasting another second of my life. I will keep proving myself, I will keep on working hard at what I love to do, and I will not let people give me negative remarks. The Black Friday Sales I Can Care Less About

North America today has gone crazy with all these black Friday sales and people going nuts and waiting for so many hours for stores to be open, and people spending money like it is going out of style just because of the sole purpose of Black Friday. It is a money grabbing day with so many consumers, and companies that really love this day because it is attracting more customers and getting people to shed out more money from their pockets. I mean that’s all these businesses are about right? Which is why I could care less about this day because I am not going to get myself hurt and get myself out there with so many people charging into the stores, toppling all over people and items just to get their hands on a good sale, But do we really think to ourselves? Is it necessary? Do we really need it because its on Sale? I highly doubt that 90% of the people actually really need what they buy. On the news earlier, I saw people getting into fights, and causing a ruckus in the store. People yelling hey that’s mine, or something like acting like children, it is not really yours until you purchase it. It is unbelievable. I do not support this black Friday and Boxing days. I do not like materialism and material growth. I am fine with what I have and do not need anything extra. I’d rather donate, rather than making the rich, richer.

The Hype Of The iPhone 5 Is Not My Cup Of Tea

It is a crazy gadget world we live in these days. Every year technologists and engineers are coming up with new gadgets and a lot of people are getting indulged by all the ads and the hype about them and now with the iPhone 5 that is out. To be really honest with you all, I do not have a hype for the iPhone 5. It is another way companies make money like Apple. Another thing, that does not sit well with me and which I think is super crazy, people line up for so many hours outside stores to get the latest gadgets and gears whether the weather is cold, rainy, super hot, snowy, people don’t care, they want that gadget on the day, they don’t want to wait a week later or a few weeks down the road when things will be less crazy. People think that they will sell out of things, but things really never sell out. They make you want to buy it, so they always have stock no matter what. I just don’t see the hype of waiting for something for so many hours. It is not worth my time, and it is not worth it. I’d rather wait, then anything. You can always find iPhone 5′s now without hassle. Once its out, its out. Honestly, I see the news and I see pictures online of people waiting for it, and some go on the news and explaining their story on how long they have been waiting and what they have been doing since they have been waiting. I mean come on. That is craziness. I am sorry if it is someone you know, or someone that can relate to what I have said, but It’s the truth. It is complete madness to wait for a gadget that will go on sale later on, or when I can get it later when it is not so chaotic.

Just because a lot of people are getting it, it doesn’t mean I have to follow the circle. I am happy with my blackberry. Yes the battery life isn’t all that great and sometimes their can be faults with the phones, but I like my blackberry. It is doing the job I want with texting, calling and everything. All other times I could care less if it doesn’t have as many features and stuff. I am satisfied with a phone I can communicate with, rather than paying for something that is in style now. Blackberry’s are too, but I will not follow people and I am my own person. So what if I will be out of the loop with iPhone life, No matter what, It is not my cup of tea. I apologize, but really not interested.

If You Are A True Friend To Me, Then Prove To Me, You Are.

There is something I have been dealing with the last few days pertaining my blog and my fanpage on facebook made by one of my good friends. Thank you for that, but there is this issue of people who claim to be my true friends and people who really love me, but have yet to join my facebook fanpage “A Writer Named Talin Orfali”. I am not trying to force them to join, but if someone claims to be a true friend and person who appreciates me and supports me through everything, then they would join my fanpage and they would share it on their walls. I am not saying that they have to, but it would be nice to see that my friends give a care about me, by liking my fanpage and among everything else. What I do not find fair is when people ask me to promote things for them and when they ask me to promote events, and pages and everything, I do it right away or a couple of hours later, and then when I ask people the simple favour of joining my fanpage and promoting my stuff, it does not. It is either they are with me fully or not with me at all. you know what I am trying to say? I am just trying to make sense of all of this. Well, I am not going to do it anymore. You know all this promotion of events and everything, I at least should get discounted or get in free to the events. I spend so much time for all that. At least respect me back and do something small for me. Doing something small is a great deal for someone else who appreciates it. I am not going to let people walk all over me and use me as their promotions person and then when I ask of something in return, it does not get done, or I have to wait for a long time.

I am so done with people who are so fake to me, and who just toss me to the side after being used. I will not be doing it anymore.If they claim to be my friends they have to be my friend fully. I do not accept part time people in my life.

 

 

Never Let Anybody Use You & Your Kind Heart

Have you been in a situation where you are always the one giving in? Have you always been one that says yes to everything, but in return people shrug you off and do not even budge with you and your requests? I cannot even count how many times It has happened to me in the past several months. On facebook a lot of people want me to advertise, and promote events and everything, but in return when I ask them to advertise and share my blog and my fanpage a writer named Talin Orfali, all I get is a no or not helping me. I believe everything is both ways. I know I have not responded to messages and comments, but I will get to them and I will work on replying as soon as I free up a whole day to do so, but anyway, I am so tired of people using me and not acknowledging me. It is the worst feeling ever to me and not appreciating and supporting me is even worse.

Never let people use you and never let people take advantage of you. You gotta learn to say no once in a while. Just to see the reaction. Well, I am going to say no to people from now on. If they do not pull their weight and advertise my stuff, then no advertising for them. It is a two way street right? Not a one way street. Don’t be a victim of another persons using. Its one of the worst feelings ever. You do not need people who use you. Stay away from them. If it doesn’t benefit them, they do not care one bit. If they don’t care, I am not going to care, if they don’t pull their weight, I won’t. It is that simple. People always want to look out for their self-growth, and self-centeredness, not how the person feeling used feels. When you start feeling used, do not keep it inside you, address the issue to the person and say, hey until when am I going to bail you out? Until when am I going to keep doing this? Saying no is not a bad thing. Trust me. Its a true test to see who stood behind with you and who left.

Those Overly Advertised Christmas Commercials Come To An End

Since Halloween has come and gone, the following day the Christmas Commercials on TV, RADIO, INTERNET had come up, and today those Overly Advertised Christmas commercials have come to an end, thank goodness. I mean its one thing to advertise a product but to have the same commercials playing over and over again is something that I do not like. Christmas has become so business saturated, too commercialized and these companies, businesses just want the money and they also pay big bucks to advertise things that do not need to be advertised every 5 minutes.

Where do we draw the line? The true essence and the true meaning of Christmas is becoming rare. The last 2 weeks, the shopping malls, plaza’s have been over-filled with shoppers, people fighting over parking spots, trying to find parking in overcrowded parking lots of malls. I stay away from malls and places to shop in the month of December. I mean whatever there is, I can buy it other times of the year and I do not have to risk being trampled over, waiting in super long line-ups, getting stressed out on finding a good parking spot, so on and so forth.

When I get into my car and I go somewhere, I listen to the Radio and all I hear are Christmas commercials on furniture, cars, toys, so on and so forth, so I turn the channel or I turn off the radio and put music on. I am just so fed up of those commercials. I am glad its all over with today. I mean yes these things are some peoples bread and butter and the way some people make their money to survive, but Who else finds it super annoying when things are excessively and overly advertised?

Everything has its limits.
