Volunteering At Children’s Aid During Christmas Annually Among Other Volunteer Work

Since 2008 My bible study group and I venture off to our local children’s aid, when Christmas is around the corner, and we spend several hours with sorting toy’s that were donated by the local community and my group and I, take time to wrap the toys, and then sort them to be sent to the children across the city. We not only volunteer with the Children’s aid, but we also go seniors homes and spend time with the elderly. It is very important to me to make a difference in ones life and get out there to do volunteer work. It is very rewarding to me emotionally because I am going home at the end of the day knowing that I helped someone in need, that I spent my time to make another persons life better. It is super important to reach out no matter what we do for others less fortunate, or in a vulnerable stage of their lives. There are several places I volunteered in the past and even before 2008, back in the early 2000′s and late 90′s, I went and gave my time to Daily Bread Food Bank, the Good Shepherd Refuge. I have lost count completely. It feels incredible to do something nice for others.

This world can be peaceful, and it can be a great place to live and when we all pitch in and do our part and do good deeds, help each other in good times and in the bad, and never letting politics take over our lives and setting aside differences which put barriers in the relationship of this world, It can be a pleasant place to be. I know that, and believe that. Whatever we do and however we do it, everything impacts the world and sometimes we do not even realize it. Volunteering for me has become such an important aspect in my life. I know that I always talk about getting on Television and giving media attention is something that will take time, but I want to send my message across. There is nothing more I want from anybody or anything, than to just make these differences. I know maybe it won’t work or it will, but the important is trying and if you don’t try you will never know, and if you don’t try there may have been an opportunity lost. I believe when opportunity knocks, I take it and I am doing the best of my ability to do good things, to make positive changes, to make this world a happier place with happier people. A lot of people I see don’t smile anymore, and I think this world has too much stress and stress is the number one thing that gets people triggered and that is what is making the world go crazy. I know in my heart it is hard to smile and it is hard to get to be positive with all the hardships one faces and all the problems we all have in the world and I know all of us have our differences and problems and I really understand where you are coming from. I am too, I have my own problems, I have my own kinks, I am trying to figure out in my life and I am trying the best of my ability to get by in the world and make it out there.

It is a tough world out there with a lot of things going on, but I know one thing, Life shouldn’t be a miserable one, and life should be a happy place for us all to live in. I know we have our troubles as I said and I think that when we are out in the public and facing society, our attitudes, and our facial expressions are all too important and we can all smile, and we can all get on the path of positivity when we try. Trying is an important word the definition is to give it your all, and do and the willingness to do it. It all pays a factor in our lives. Whatever we do, and however we do it, it is always nice to reach out, and touch another persons life and make their little world a better place to be generally speaking, because we should all be a family, ONE Family of the world, to help each other and be considerate and courteous. Of course in general.

All the best to all!

  1. I loved your positive way of thinking and appreciate all your good work and efforts.. people with your kind of attitude are definitely an asset and much needed in this world.. Peace and love to all :) Keep up!

  2. This is a really nice post Talin; I feel as though I’m coming to know a little more about you now.

There honestly is nothing more rewarding than arriving home knowing that somebody smiled a little bit brighter, or that somebody is well-fed and comfortable because of you. I really miss my days as a care assistant.

  3. Often times we don’t realize that we are in fact witnessing- to what- that life is okay and you can have peace and serenity- or a “don’t bother” me attitude that shuns and seeks to further depress those around us. I like the thought- remember to smile and have a positive impact on those around us. After all, we if we can smile, that means we are still living.
